Another GREAT photo finish with the Rookie Kahne coming INCHES of pulling it off...

Good Old School Race here...A race between three dominant cars coming down to the last turn...

Time for a bump as we come to the second best race of the year: the Bristol spring race (second only to the Bristol night race).

Always action packed, 43 cars, 1/2 mile, heated tempers, beating and banging.

Won't bother predicting a winner as nothing is predictable at Bristol.

Unusual day at Bristol with full green pit stops. I guess it was a good gamble by Kurt Busch.

The politically correct interviews by McMurray and Kenseth were hilarious. And it was funny how McMurray described his pass vs. Kenseth's (McMurray bumped Kenseth more than once as well), Kahne had to have been smiling after that although I'm sure he wishes he was racing.

Although I am not a huge Rusty fan, you had to feel bad for him after the post-race interview.

U see...Because of my long history of wrestling watching I actually said as the final restart

"I wouldn't book Rusty to win here, Save it for the big One...Daytona."

I instantly slaped myself as I said it...

Not a bad day...Odd with so few cautions...

So I'm guessing nobody watches NASCAR anymore, besides myself.

Yeah.

I do, just got bored talking about it. More into dirt track racing right now until it finishes up in a month or two, then I'll care about the overpriced NASCAR again.

I know. :(

That's another reason Nascar is boring now. I don't give a crap about all these newer drivers that are all like 20. I want 50 year old drunken hicks.

Dale Sr. would hate his kid being a pretty boy. Slap him around.

Or just spin him every week and tell him, "that's racing boy, you either know what you are doing on the track or you stay here and do your hair."

The only serious comment I would make on NASCAR is that I was miffed when they changed the name of the Winston Cup. I know that it's a tobacco company and a corporate name and all, but at least the term "Winston Cup" has some kind of regal air, whereas "Nextel Cup" is yet-another-corporate-sponsorshit-that-doesn't-sound-right.

At least the upcoming name change to "Sprint Cup" makes some sense... even if it doesn't at the same time.

Jeff Gordon is hawter.

he's a 35 year old man with a 10 year old's body.

current top 10

1 Jeff Burton

2 Denny Hamlin -69

3 Mark Martin -70

4 Matt Kenseth -84

5 Kevin Harvick -96

6 Jeff Gordon -120

7 Dale Earnhardt Jr. -123

8 Jimmie Johnson -165

9 Kyle Busch -233

10 Kasey Kahne -273

It's about time for Denny Hamlin and Mark Martin to GTFO.

Part of me wants to see Mark Martin win it all. While another part of me wants him to end up 1 point short of winning it all because he runs out of gas on the last lap at the last track and gets passed by Kyle Petty.

The real reason they changed the system was because the previous points structure usually limited the title chase to two drivers and more times then not, the championship was locked up two or three races before the final race.

With all the money the networks were paying, they needed to ensure the final stretch of races were going to be meaningful.

The playoff format was a brilliant move by Nextel and NASCAR for a variety of reasons and I don't see them tweaking it significantly unless they add an additional 10 pts (for a maximum of 195 pts). That's the only way they can alter the format without completely going outrageous.
