The Reds have a much better chance with Griffey back "healthy", heck the outfield as a whole is one of the best in the NL. I can't even name three Indians, in fact all I can think of off the top of my head is Milton Bradley. Griffey and healthy don't belong in the same sentence. Last year more than proved that. The only thing that would make me more upset is if Boston or Chicago (either, I guess, but preferably the Cubbies) wins. That would, IMHO, ruin baseball. I can't even name three Indians, in fact all I can think of off the top of my head is Milton Bradley. You may not know many of the Indians, but they have TONs of talent. In a few years, they should be a very solid team in that divison, hell - possibly even this year. On to the Reds. IF Austin Kearns, Adam Dunn, Sean Casey and Ken Griffey Jr can stay healthy all season - they are indeed one powerful, dangerous force. Kearns is a .300, 30 HR guy. Dunn can hit 50, this kid has so much pure power, but has struggled with making contact. Griffey, the future hall of famer, can still easily hit 40 HR and display great defense. But, the past few years, all three guys have been hurt, for either a few weeks, a few months, or the season - and that has killed the Reds offense. On the pitching side, the bullpen is REAL solid with Graves, Reidling, Wagner, Reitsma (Wagner and Reitsma are FILTHY). The starting rotation will be much improved if Cory Lidle can stay healthy (theres that word again). Before the all star break (before he was injured) he pitched very good for the Jays, and he's pitched very solidly for the A's in the past, so we expect some good things from him. Paul Wilson would be a #4 on most teams, but he'll be our #2. He puts up decent numbers, and has been pretty consistant throughout his career. The questions are Jose Acevedo, Brandon Claussen and Jimmy Haynes. Claussen has loads of potential, and Acevedo pitched GREAT last year before getting hurt (again, theres that word). As you can see, HEALTH has bit the Reds in the ass all around the diamound. IF..IF.. they can stay healthy, we got a solid team. Not Cubs or Astros solid, but solid enough to finish above the Cardinals and give Chicago and Houston some battles. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

To a certain extent. I would like to see four teams (Including, The Yankees and Sox, natch) steamroll over the league and then meet in a battle of the Titans in the play offs. The Texas Rangers had a winning record against the central, as did the Toronto Blue Jays. Even the Detroit Tigers fared better when facing AL Central teams.
