AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2004 "They should be booked as a team that will do anything to stay together at all costs...but as heels. They should play up the strength in numbers card too. Regardless of card position, the Dudley Boyz should be able to take out any one man. The Dudleyz against Austin? Squash. The Dudleyz against The Rock? Squash. The Dudleyz against Austin & Rock? The Dudleyz win because they are 'tag team specialists' and Austin & Rock are just two single wrestlers." Yet another of many reasons I hate WWE booking.
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2004 Maybe they could spoof that "wazzup" ad...man, that would be quite the knee slapper.
Austin3164life 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2004 WWE booking killed them, and they have not been heel in forever. Both Raw and Smackdown have horrible Tag Divisions, and yet the WWE does nothing with the Dudleyz (who could be a very over team again).
Guest Super Pissed Smark Report post Posted February 17, 2004 1. There aren't enough decent teams on either show to really give the Dudleys anything to do. 2. The sort of things they did so well in ECW they just can't do in the WeeWee. 3. They're never going to get pushed as a strong, bad-ass team that destroys everyone in their way unless one of them marries a McMahon.
Guest hunger4unger Report post Posted February 18, 2004 The Dudleys are really old now. I'm getting sick of seeing them. In ECW they were unreal, in WWE they have had their moments but as it stands they are done.
Guest GreatMuta Report post Posted February 18, 2004 This is why I laugh at WWE Management. Matt Hardy get's decent face pops at House Shows, and for his old entrance, and WWE does not know what to do.
k thx 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2004 Basically, IMHO, they're in the same position as TWGTT are on SD. They've run out of oponents so lay off using them for a bit, then bring them back into the mix when the marks have forgotten about the last feuds.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted February 18, 2004 That's right...They did this with Trish once and appear to be doing it again...They phase her out as the WOMAN'S divison supa-face and plug someone else in for a little bit... Right it's Vicky as the plug-in and Trish is preoccipied with The J.C.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted February 18, 2004 kinda run out of teams for the Dudleys to go through... Unless you throw them on Smackdown.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted February 18, 2004 Seems sensible just to send Dudz, Hurricane/Rosey(split Hurricane and S2H apart and form Headshrinkers 2.0 with Kishi and Rosey) and Jyndrak and Cade over to Smackdown and ship Rhyno, A-Train and Edge over to raw. The difference being that there are face teams to pick up the slack for the Dudleyz. There's no heel team to cover for WGTT

They've run out of oponents so lay off using them for a bit, then bring them back into the mix when the marks have forgotten about the last feuds. And the WWE has no one to blame but themselves. They basically forced Kendrick into quitting, breaking up a team face that was over/getting over on Velocity. The released Kanyon, who could have been used in a team. There's no heel team to cover for WGTT FBI
Vyce 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2004 Can't blame everything on creative. Some characters just run their course. Years ago Dudleys would have been one of those teams that could jump to multiple territories to stay fresh and hot. Those days are long gone, though. I agree with this completely. The Dudleys are just stale. The act is old and tired. Turning them heel would be a change, but let's be honest - they've done the heel schtick before, for quite a long time, and there's nothing to indicate that Heel Dudleys 2004 would be anything new or different from what we've seen before. Is this just residual ECW memories people are still living off of? FIrst off they never should have been broken up by the brand extention. Thus, this made them look VERY weak when restablished as a tag team, as in they couldn't hack it in singles competition. Because they couldn't hack it in singles competition. Also, there is no good reason to not make them upper lever heels. Whoa, WHOA. I shit on Orton ALL the time, and rightly so, but I'll say this: Orton is 10 times more deserving of the upper level heel spot than the Dudleys.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted February 18, 2004 good thing with the Dudleys they are a solid tag team..definately a team that would be useful to go against anybody. Problem is there are few tag teams left that they haven't messed with. its almost the same problem with the Acolytes when they were a solid time. But they are no longer since Simmons took his hiatus and returned. its still doesn't look like it gelled as it did.
Guest Korgath Report post Posted February 23, 2004 The Dudleys never appealed to me. They seemed like filler for the marks in attendance more than anything else. Hell, the Whassup was as much a mark-out moment as the Worm and the Stinkface, and we all know that those moves didn't help anyone get over. If the Dudleys are ever going to get over as heels, they've got to stop giving the crowd what they want over and over again. One of the things that helped Test get heat was when he prevented Stacy from doing her patented ring entrance (at one point mocking it himself). The Dudleys need to tease the Whassup and then leave. Instant, automatic heel heat. They need to be pure, uncaring and self-centered for once. None of that morality schtick that they had with Chief Morley months ago.
