Chunk 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2004 Styles puts his new title up against CM Punk in a rematch from the Pure Tournament. From rohwrestling.com: AJ Styles became the first ever Pure Wrestling Champion on February 14th by winning a grueling tournament. The finals against CM Punk was met with controversy as Punk claims that the referee cheated him on a rope break. A rematch has been signed for March 13th in Elizabeth, NJ at the RexPlex when AJ Styles makes his first title defense against CM Punk. To insure no other controversy, one of the greatest pure wrestlers of all time has been called in to referee the match. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat will put on the ref shirt to make sure we have a conclusive winner in the Styles vs. Punk Pure Wrestling Title Match on March 13th!!! It is an honor to have this hall of famer step in a ROH ring on this historic night. Also signed for that day is the fan convention. Anyone going to mania XX also has the chance to check out ROH. Lucky lucky lucky!

Guest OSIcon Report post Posted February 25, 2004 Actually, a lot more than that has been announced for a little while: Scramble Cage II - Special K (All of them w/ Abyss) vs. Carnage Crew (Loc, Devito, Justin Credible, Masada) Pure Wrestling Championship: AJ Styles © vs. CM Punk ROH Championship Steel Cage Match: Somoa Joe © vs. Jay Briscoe Number One Contenders Tag Team Match: Prophecy (BJ Whitmer/Dan Maff) vs. Second City Saints (Colt Cabana/Ace Steel) Six Way Mayhem: Sonjay Dutt vs. Red vs. Jack Evans vs. Teddy Hart vs. Jimmy Rave vs. Mark Briscoe Stryker, Jerry Lynn, John Walters, Xavier w/ Nana, and Nigel McGuiness are all announced without matches. There will most likely be a number one contenders match of some kind. Piper will be given an award at the show which will likely turn into an angle. The convention card ('Do or Die II') has Super Dragon/Excalibur, Rainmain/Caprice Coleman, and a scramble announced thus far. The whole day (including the Piper Q&A) looks like a TON of fun. Under most any other circumstances, I would be making the trip (either via the Maryland bus trip or driving up) but I need to save up my money right now. Should be really good though. More work for the locals of FL. This is awesome the exposure they are getting. Also the convention card sounds worth it, and like a fun little thing too check out. I know Dragon and Excalibur will bring the stiffness like always. Also since when is Brad Bradly getting back in the scene. I haven't heard of him since late 2000. I remember him getting compared too RVD just bigger. Interesting.

Guest JustinCredible2k Report post Posted February 27, 2004 Why the hell do I have to live in North Carolina? We always get screwed over. Carolina is wrestling, wrestling is Carolina.

Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted March 7, 2004 Six Way Mayhem: Sonjay Dutt vs. Red vs. Jack Evans vs. Teddy Hart vs. Jimmy Rave vs. Mark Briscoe They'd be INSANE not to have Teddy Hart win this and challenge Samoa Joe to a Title bout.

Adam 0 Report post Posted March 7, 2004 The Pure Wrestling match should kick all kinds of ass, and yeah Zsasz, I agree with you on the Teddy Hart thing. It'd be great to see Teddy get pummeled by Joe.

JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2004 I thought there would be a little bit more discussion regarding the show, but I'll get it going with some short results from Michrome's board. -Mellow defeated Jerelle Clark with a school boy roll up after Jerelle hit the 630 Splash. -Solution def. Todd Sexton & Jared Steel with their powerbomb off the ropes combo, and top rope powerbomb neckbreaker. Alright match, nothing special. -Caprice coleman defeatead Rainman in a decent match with a horrendous ending. It looked like 30 seconds of blown spots. After the match, Juluis Smokes cut a promo in the ring telling them they should be a tag team and join in on the tag team scramble match tonight. They accepted. -Allison Danger over April Hunter after a BJ Whitmer powerbomb. Tracy and CM Punk attack afterwards. -Jimmy Jacobs over Brad Bradley with the Contra Code. -Hydro beat Roderick Strong with a dragon suplex, said to have been a great match. -Danny Daniels tapped to Austin Aries. Ok match, dragged on. -Super Dragon beat Excalibur in possibly the best match so far. Dragon was over especially when he was stiffing the hell out of Excalbiur. Dragon won with a top rope stomp and pumphandle.
Guest ToddRoyal Report post Posted March 13, 2004 I'm assuming Sal Rinauro wrestled as part of Special K then? I was wondering since the ROH website listed him as Rinauro which way he would come out. Jacobs/Bradley will probably be good, sucks that Coleman/Rainman had a bad ending, as Gabe seems pretty high on both guys right now. Thanks for the results
Jingus 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2004 Salvatore Rinauro was renamed "Mellow" and indeed was introduced as a new member of Special K. Rainman and Coleman are both very talented, and if they screwed up that bad, I'd definitely say that it was an off night for both of them, and not their usual performance. Guest ToddRoyal Report post Posted March 13, 2004 Ya, Rinauro debuted as Mellow back at "Battle Lines are Drawn", I was just wondering if he came out that way, or as Rinauro. It appears as a member of Special K. Also, I checked Michrome's board and the rest of the results are: Hydro Def. Roderick Strong Austin Aires Def. Danny Daniels Super Dragon Def. Excalibur (this match, and SD in particular, apparently stole the card) Don Juan & Fast Eddie Def. Dunn & Marcos, OCK and Coleman/Rainman in a scramble. JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2004 Deranged is at the show and may be part of the Scramble Cage II, but that is just an assumption. Glad to see him back because I feel he was one of the more talent Special K members.
PsychoDriver 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2004 Super Dragon Def. Excalibur (this match, and SD in particular, apparently stole the card) Was there any doubt? That's great to hear.
JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2004 Didn't surprise me as I thought their two matches on Super Dragon Evolution I were great.
Michrome 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2004 For those that care, I've seen 2 reports on attendance. One came in about 20 minutes before showtime as "at least 1200", and the other came in at showtime as "between 1500 and 2000." They were from different people. JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2004 6 man mayhem is up, red got the welcome back chant, mark briscoe, sonjay dutt, jimmy rave and then jack evans and teddy hart who did backflips off the top ropes to enter. Teddy getting a teddy and cm punk chants back and forth. Match notes next Red won the match with a standing shooting star. Excellent match, lots of insane high spots from everyone involded. The match continued with a complete brawl from everyone after jack evans was attacked while dancing. They all had to hold down hart, as they played it off like he was shooting or somthing and was escorted out by security. Very good spot match and was very over with the crowd, a little short but good.
JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2004 Slykk tapped to Xaviers submission finisher which name escapes my mind right now. A good back and forth match, nothing special tho. After the match nana forced them to shake eachothers hand. Nana got on the mic, and got some nice heat from the crowd as usual. Nana plugged xavier as the real roh world champion. Nana mentioned he never got pinned or tapped to any roh champion, and they dissed joe as ducking xavier for the past year and a half. So that's 2 people to challange him for the show tonight. Nana ripped the sound team for fucking up xaviers entrance. Joes music played but didn't show, then it played again and he came out. Joe disses xavier by calling him the all around bitch and him and nana left. Joe cut a promo and welcomed the fans to ring of honor, mentioned how tonight marks one year as champ, put over aj as pure wrestling champ, and the cage match.
