Guest OctoberBlood Posted April 24, 2004 Report Posted April 24, 2004 Really? I thought they were CFL?!!?!
treble Posted April 24, 2004 Report Posted April 24, 2004 I FINALLY get a win out of my pitchers, with both Escobar and Foulke picking up victories. About damn time.
razazteca Posted April 24, 2004 Report Posted April 24, 2004 Hampton is giving me a headache now I am thinking about benching Zach Day to protect my pitcher stats for tomorrow. And the Tigers are from Japan.......Kaz Matsui played for them last year before the blockbuster transfer.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 Is it just me, or is Al turning into the Billy Beane of our league? Everytime he does something, he terrifies me I just picked up Chris Hammond. What radical sabrmetric strategy have I found now? Wait and see, suckers!

Wait and see, suckers! 0 BB in 11 IP and .55 K's per IP. 3 HR's kinda hurts but isn't that horrible and of the 8 R he's given up, only 4 were earned.
Lightning Flik Posted April 27, 2004 Author Report Posted April 27, 2004 I figured I'd give everyone a statistical update on the teams. EVIL~! alkeiper Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 If they haven't checked the page in that long, I'd gather they are doing poorly. Hampton is giving me a headache now I am thinking about benching Zach Day to protect my pitcher stats for tomorrow. After watching Day on Sunday, I hope you didn't.
razazteca Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 Hampton shall ride the bench until I see a 2 game win streak. I did play both Dontrelle Willis and Zach Day since the Pitcher stats were not as bad as I thought.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 Im surprised no one had picked up Matt Kata with R. Alomar being out for 2 months, so I picked him up.
Guest OctoberBlood Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 I picked him up in another league a week ago. Needed him in this one. He's a good hitter.
HarleyQuinn Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 My already weak team offense wise is now further going down the drain as my bench player, David Eckstein got taken out of the game with a groin injury(ugh). Womack's still DTD as is Anderson and Trot'll hopefully return in early May.
Lightning Flik Posted April 28, 2004 Author Report Posted April 28, 2004 Considering I've been riding my pitching hard to a 5th place run, I must say I'm doing pretty damn good. Now watch as my pitching swoons on me this week.
Cuban Linx Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 Well so far my team's only a few losses away from living up to it's name.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 I'm looking to trade Kevin Mench, Joel Pineiro, or Woody Williams for a DL'd player. I've got Lieber coming off the DL and I'd like to make a move rather than dropping a player. My pitching staff is looking quite good thus far. Three pitchers (Clemens, Big Unit, Sheets) ranked in the league's top 12 players.
Lightning Flik Posted April 29, 2004 Author Report Posted April 29, 2004 Am I the only person who finds it really interesting that only 6 teams are above .500? I mean that's just insane, that the teams really are quite similar to one another. Since there really isn't much seperation yet between team rankings.
Guest OctoberBlood Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 I counterd the trade Al. Not really looking to gain another 1B.
Lightning Flik Posted May 2, 2004 Author Report Posted May 2, 2004 On The Block: R. Ortiz - SP - Atlanta S. Ponson - SP - Baltimore R. Biddle - RP - Montreal Send reasonable offers my way.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 Reasonable for Rocky Biddle? I wouldn't take him off the waiver wire.
Lightning Flik Posted May 2, 2004 Author Report Posted May 2, 2004 Reasonable for Rocky Biddle? I wouldn't take him off the waiver wire. I was more meaning for Ponson and Ortiz, Al.
Cuban Linx Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 Thankfully my DL players are starting to return, hopefully Teixeira and Berroa can give my team the jumpstart it needs. Now i just need Mauer back and my catcher position might finally stop being a black hole of nothingness. I was one the verge of looking to make some trades (with Mark Mulder probably the first i'd shop around), but i think i'll wait a while to see how my team performs with nearly everyone now playing.
razazteca Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 Took me long enough to reach .500 It looks like my hitting will get me the neccessary stats but my starting pitchers are questionable.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 Thanks to Yahoo being slow in taking Jon Lieber off the DL, I was able to sneak him back on and pick up Gil Meche for a start. That's strategy!
Guest OctoberBlood Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 Ah yes, Jimmy Gobble .. such a brilliant pickup from myself a week ago.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 I've got Gobble on my trading block in the AL-only league.
Guest OctoberBlood Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 BLECH! MacDougal comes in and blows it for him.
Guest OctoberBlood Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 Got the game on MLB Audio right now. That Guiel feller is a good one.
