Booker T to Smackdown!

Recommended Posts

Take it with a grain of salt, but heed if you will:

Booker T to Smackdown? Torch VIP/Newsletter subscriber A. LaPorte of Atlanta, Ga. writes: Take this how you like, today while driving in the metro Atlanta area I saw a UPN van with the stars from various shows pictures on the van. On the side there was the WWE and Smackdown emblems with huge pictures of Torrie Wilson and Booker T. Now the brand split was nearly 2 years ago, Booker T hasn't been featured on Smackdown since, and the truck did have the WWE logo, which means it the picture/label was produced after the brand split. Maybe a sign of things to come? I guess time will tell.  - CREDIT: PWTorch.com

HMMM....If that does happen.... I guess I really won't care. It must be going down a little after Mania, due to him and RVD holding the tag belts. This could mean one of two things. Vince is really going to go through with the demolishing of the Brand Expansion or Booker is leaving us.

Booker moving to Smackdown is a good move. HHH ruined him on RAW.

Brock needs fresh opponents, so does Booker.

It'd be nice to see a fresh face on the Smackdown side of things. With Edge's rumored Raw jump, Smackdown could definitely use another wrestler who is over.

I guess that would work.... Edge traded to Raw - Booker to Smackethdown! or just dissolve the brand extension. I only want that so that the dream matches can happen even after wrestlemania. Big Show vs Mark Henry - Battle of the Hosses!

Ok, no one has said it, so I guess I need to.

IT'S A FRIGGIN LOCAL AFFILIATE NEWS VAN

It is.

It's also something that needs to happen.

Just like the "OMG! PPV PROMOTIONAL POSTER HAS SO AND SO ON! HE'S WINNING THE TITLE!"

The odds are it would be a coincidence, or it's JUST A PROMOTIONAL POSTER. Not a fortune cookie.

I think the WWE management honestly sees Smackdown as the OVW to Raw's WWE. Put people "down" there to get an actual buildup, then bring them "up" to Raw to get fed to the Clique.

I mainly said take it with a grain of salt, because it is JUST a local news van. I'm just saying keep your eyes and ears open just in case. Like I said, it probably won't even happen until well after WrestleMania. (aka Edge to Raw - Booker to Smackethdown)

Booker vs. Brock, Booker v. Big Show, didn't we already see this?

Booker/Brock only happend when Brock was still trying to get over (and still failing). So it's mever been a Main Event program.

Press Conferences rule.

Trade Booker/Hurricane for Edge.

*Vince steps up to the podium. Edge is to his left sitting beside Paul Heyman, Booker and Hurricane are sitting beside Eric Bischoff. Everyone is quiet, the only sound is that of pictures being taken and perhaps some coughing.*

Vince: It is my honour and privilage to announce this momentous occasion. *Ahem* As of 1 o'clock yesterday afternoon, a deal was signed between RAW and Smackdown to exchange 3 highly regarded superstars that will appear on each respective show next week. To Smackdown will go Booker T, a 5 time WCW champion and 3 time WWE tag team champion, as well as cruiserweight and superhero, the Hurricane. To RAW will go Edge and the main event slot at the RAW and Smackdown joined PPV, Summerslam. Now, I will hand the mic over to Smackdown GM Paul Heyman.

*Cameras go off*

Heyman: Today is truly a momentous occasion as Smackdown has the honour of housing two very exciting superstars in Booker T and the Hurricane. I know that the Hurricane will help advance our cruiserweight division with his highflying style and Booker T will bring his championship calibre performance to our heavyweight division. It is sad to see Edge go, but this was a move I was wanting to make for some time now. I can assure you, Booker T and the Hurricane will not be misused on Smackdown as they were on RAW.

*Bischoff stands up*

Bischoff: Now wait a minute

Vince: Eric, you will have your time to address this occasion in a moment.

Heyman: Thank you Mr. McMahon. As I was saying, Smackdown is very pleased to have these two wonderful superstars on our roster and I am sure our collective success will be greater than anything RAW could ever do. Now, if Booker T and the Hurricane could please join me I have something to present to them.

*Booker and Hurricane get up*

*Heyman hands them jerseys and a hat which say "Smackdown #1" on them*

*They post for cameras and sit down together.*

*Eric immediately gets up to the stage*

Eric: Now first of all, Booker and Hurricane were not misused on RAW. RAW is just so jam packed with stars that they got lost in the shuffle. And now with Edge here, RAW is now overflowing with big name talent and will certainly make good use of that Main Event slot at Summerslam as I will also use this time to announce that newly acquired superstar to the RAW roster EDGE will be wrestling IN that main event slot at Summerslam against World Champion HHH!

*Press goes abuzz as Heyman looks on in awe and Vince has a dumb grin on his face. Bischoff has a big shit-eating grin on his face as Edge gets up to shake his hand*

Edge: I am real happy to be a part of RAW. It's a place that I've always wanted to be, I feel that Smackdown brought me to a good level, but that RAW can bring me to that higher plateau and I will make good use of the opportunity on Sunday, August 19th 2004 at the Skydome when I compete for the World Title against HHH. This has always been a dream of mine and I'll do my country proud by bringing the gold home infront of 68 000 screaming Edgeheads. Thank you.

*Edge and Bischoff sit down*

*Heyman speaks into his mic*

Heyman: You sonnofabitch, you just had to try and upstage my moment here didn't you? Well you failed because Booker T and Hurricane are assets that Smackdown will make great use of and there's nothing you can do about that.

Bischoff: Oh yeah? Well we'll see about that.

Heyman: Yeah, we'll see alright.

Bisch: yeah?

Heyman: YEAH!

Vince: Gentlemen, if you please calm down -CALM DOWN!- let's save the fighting for these 3 superstars and for in the ring. Now, I'd like to thank the press and attendees here tonight and for the GMs who have -until now- been very civil and respectful when making this deal. It has been approved by the board of governers as well as myself, and I wish for a prosperous future for both brands. Thank you.

Seriously...What can Booker T do on Smackdown?

He's been through TBS and Angle...

Cena would crush him in heat and we'd get REALLY bad dueling rap-offs.

Booker needs to just retire and open more Urban Stores.

I think the WWE wants to give him the belt before he retires, and it just isn't happening on Raw. Booker vs Brock/Angle/Cena/Eddie have not been done to the extent of an actual feud or a match with a lot of time and build. Great move, IMO.

Rudo, that situation could never occur because you didn't include Triple-H and Austin being there. They have to be everywhere that has something to do with Raw

*HHH runs in and pedigrees Edge, Booker, and Hurricane while Austin stunners Heyman, Bischoff and McMahon*

*The look at each other and smile*

*JR shows up and yells "BAH GAWD, THE TWO MAN POWERTRIP ARE AT IT AGAIN! WHO CAN STOP THEM!"*

*HHH looks at Austin*

*Austin winks at HHH*

*Austin stunners JR*

JR: OH NO NOT AGAIN! STUNNERSTUNNERSTUNNER! BAH GAWD! I'M NOT A WRESTLER! I HAVE A FAMILY! DAMMIT! SONNOFABITCH! AUSTINAUSTINAUSTIN! I FEEL SO BETRAYED!

*pause*

WHELP! THAT'SOURRATTLESNAKEGODBLUSSUM!

*JR takes HHH and Austin out for drinks and gets stunnered 20 times before the night is through*

Booker T's moving to SmackDown! after Backlash, where he's facing Benoit (who's winning the title at Backlash) for the title.

Just getting my news 'n' rumors straight...

This is really a non story and mere speculation.

If Booker T WAS to be switched to SD it would provide the needed star power for the brand left in the wake of Hardy, Benoit and Taker's departures.

A) The Station probably has no idea who Booker T is.

B) WWE seems to be caving into the demographics of UPN for what wrestlers do what on Smackdown. See John Cena, Eddy/Chavo/Rey.

Booker fits their demos so it wouldnt suprise me if he ends up on Smackdown.

Say he does get moved to Smackdown. So what? Hate to see it guys, but Booker isn't very good. Oh sure, you can say he's over. But isn't that mostly because of his spinaroonie? Isn't that over on a Rikishi and Scotty level? I really don't think I could take him seriously in a world title situation with his current character. I didn't last year at WM, why would I now?

Personally I want Booker to retire at this point after the burial HHH layed on him last year as he's done nothing but spin his wheels since.

But if he moved over to Smackdown, with the right booking, he can be a serious contender.

I doubt WWE Creative can (will) do that though.

I don't know if he could be a serious contender though. Can Mr. Spinaroonie be a serious contender? Unless they give his character a new dimension, then I don't think so. And I don't think WWE is even interested in making Booker T a serious contender.

Booker could be a serious contender. But WWE Creative is so inept today that he'd most likely bomb at the gate along with having his legs cut off before he could have the chance to make an impact.

You're right about the WWE not being interested in making Booker a serious title threat/contender. He's not one and has only been used to out other guy's over since entering the company in '01.
