Dr. Tom 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2004 (edited) I have setup the AL/NL TSM Yahoo league. It's 12 teams, so there are 11 open spots. Standard roto scoring, with the substitution of OBP for BA. If you're interested in this league, then PM me for the password. Do not share the password with anyone else if you wish to remain in the league. This will basically be first-come first-serve, but I have one or two people I'm putting in the league no matter what, and I reserve the right to refuse entry to any tards who PM me. IMPORTANT EDIT: It's a live draft, scheduled for Monday, March 8th at 7:00 PM ET. Edited February 19, 2004 by DrTom
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2004 I get home around 7:20 on Mondays, so I should be able to work with that. EDIT: With Yahoo's system, you can pre-rank and the system will make the pick if you don't make it in time. That should make it easy for me.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2004 ...wtf??? I just set one up in Yahoo, now Tom's setting one up as well? At least you've got a better drafting time then me. Couldn't you at least have gone to my thread I had made Tom and told me this ahead of time? Cause I signed up at least 8 people Tom.
Bored 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2004 Tom had mentioned it in the offseason thread last week. Could just delete your league and people could then join Tom's. Al has an AL-only and NL-only league so there are plenty of league's for people to join.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2004 Tom did a league last year. In any case, there's room for both, especially since the two leagues use different formats. Even mine are AL and NL only, so each league has something different to offer.
Dr. Tom 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2004 Plenty of people here play fantasy baseball. We had at least 2 leagues running last year.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2004 Plenty of people here play fantasy baseball. We had at least 2 leagues running last year. Sure... But I stole all the good people Tom. Besides, I just wanted to be in the "one" league. Since I didn't see the "one" league posted up yet, I figured to do so. So sorry for stealing your thundar. EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2004 This is a ways off yet, but what do people think about a fantasy "champion of champions" playoff game? Basically, the winners of the four leagues of this board would draft from players on the eight playoff teams. Just like a regular season game, you'd try and accumulate the best stats. Of course, the catch is you could lose players from your team as they are eliminated from the playoffs. What do you think?
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2004 Considering I'm going to win all 4 leagues what's the point.

EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2004 Tom, is there any way we could push the draft time to 7:15 or 7:30? Its a small change, but it would benefit my schedule greatly.
Dr. Tom 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2004 Important Note The draft has been moved back a half-hour, to 7:30. Same date as before.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2004 Thanks a bunch Tom. With work lately, its been iffy as far as getting out exactly on time. With 7:30, I'll just make it home on time. Now if only I can get the draft application to work.....

EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2004 Thanks to my SNKT draft, I've given the draft applet a run, and I'm good to go for tomorrow.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2004 Hey, Tom, I'd be up for that 4 way (hopefully) tourney thingy going on. Be interesting to see who would win it all.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2004 Wow! I miss the draft due to my computer is busted and my team isn't half bad. Awesome.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2004 I did find it amusing that the computer gave you Gary Sheffield for the first pick.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2004 I did find it amusing that the computer gave you Gary Sheffield for the first pick. I think this might've been the one where I actually did an auto draft of picks. That might've been why Sheffield was picked first. Although, I'm kinda suprised. As I had someone else slated as my first overall draft pick. Sheffield wasn't my first true choice (actually about fourth). About the only thing I don't like is the fact that I don't have a strong SS (by strong, I mean like the top 5). But those are pretty much hard to find. the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2004 Sheffield was the highest player remaining in the Yahoo rankings when your turn came. Of course I wonder where they would rank him now. Al, just curious, how soon would you have taken Sheff?
Guest OctoberBlood Report post Posted March 9, 2004 Well, I love my team. Woo.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2004 Al, just curious, how soon would you have taken Sheff? Hard to say. ESPN is reporting that he plans to keep playing. I honestly don't know what to make of his condition, or how it will effect him. I'd take him with my first bench pick, and let someone else take the risk. MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2004 My team is pretty good. My only problem is really at 2nd and possibly 1rst. Jose Reyes will eventually become 2B eligible and then I'll probably dump Spivey. And Im hoping that if Nevin struggles that Konerko won't.

Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2004 I like my team for the most part. Catcher isn't strong. Some key players coming off injured seasons. But they all produce when healthy.
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2004 I'm digging my team as well. Very solid from top to bottom with the exception of catcher(Matt LeCroy) however LeCroy should still be solid(Projected for 25 HR's, 93 RBI's in 500 AB's in 2003, 27 HR's, 102 RBI's in 550 AB's in 2003 based on final totals). Starting Rotation's quite solid with Nomo, Lowe who should have a great bounce back and Zito. Great bullpen in Smoltz and Mota with a solid staff left over in Batista, K-Rod and Brad Lidge. Bored 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2004 This being some what of an All-Star league it's kinda hard not to like the team you have at this point. Since some of us were wondering why we ended up with 11 teams instead of 12, looking at the thread it appears FrigidSoul was the one who jumped ship.
