JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2004 Everyone says tag team wrestling is/has been on the decline for a while now...so if you had to pick a year/time period in the WWF where you think the tag team division was at its best, what/when would you pick and why? WrestlingDeacon 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2004 I have to agree with MM on that one. Just look at all the tag matches they had at Wrestlemania III. You can throw in Sheik and Volkoff, The Dream Team, The American Express, the Rockers, the Powers of Pain, the Orient Express, Power and Glory, the Conquistadors and the Bolsheviks,

I too agree with that. Tag wrestling in the '80s (NWA & WWF) was great. As the business headed into the '90s NWA/WCW had the advantage until mid-1994, after that tag wrestling has been in the decline. WWF 2000 did experience a tag wrestling boom with the Hardyz, Dudleys and Edge & Christian.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted February 21, 2004 The fact that Vince split the Killer Bees up (a popular lower card team) because there were TOO MANY TAG TEAMS should answer the Q. I bet Vince wishes he had enough real teams to even do a tournament without wacky partners that hate each other.

JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2004 Think about how bad it was in 1996 - Godwinns, Smokin Gunns (at least they were decent), Bodydonnas, New Rockers...uggh. At least there was Bulldog and Owen.

At least there was Bulldog and Owen. You exluded a very random appearences by Teckno Team 2000 and The Bushwackers. Plus at the end of 1996 they brought in Phil LaFon & Doug Furnas plus Diesel & Razor Ramon II.
