Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2004 I wouldn't have a problem with it, since there's a lot of immigrants who would probably make better leaders than some of America's own (like, say, this guy orthis guy), but the amount of work to go into changing something in the Constitution that we've always had there and abided is so much, that especially in this political climate I don't think it will happen. You DON'T think that FDR was a good leader?

You DON'T think that FDR was a good leader? That actually surprised me, too (figured Reagan). FDR isn't my fave (he didn't end the Great Depression, no matter how much credit he gets for it), but I wouldn't say he was a bad Pres. He probably was aiming at Hoover (who wasn't that bad, either. Heck, he kept Europe from starvation following WWI. He was just stuck with a financial crisis that nobody could figure out and no major war to revitalize the economy). -=Mike

He was also a great leader, and seemed to be a source of inspiration during times when the country had needed it. I wasn't alive at the time, so I wouldn't know. What about Reagan does everyone favour? I've heard of people calling him the best president of the twentieth century, but there's never really an explanation given. Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2004 I'm beginning to think there's a lot of things that come out of this guy's mouth and "sound right", but are just freaky to read in print. Take this: "How much money can I expect when I come here because so many other governors are asking for money? I expect to get a lot of it, simply because I'm very persuasive. I am like a tick that hangs on it and will not let go until I get what I want." "You can't get everything you want, but ... you know the old philosophy – squeaky wheels get the grease, so I will ... be complaining and I will be asking for the money until we get as much as we can." As you can probably tell from the sig, I like Regan as a pop culture icon, but i'm not so hot for him as a President.
