The "What Film(s) Did You Watch Today" Thread

Life of Brian - 8/10, not as godly as the Holy Grail, but there were some good parts here and there and the ending was excellent.

The Exorcist - 6/10, I just couldn't get into this. Perhaps all of the parodies that pop culture has churned out killed the buzz for me with this movie. The ending is pretty good, but I found the rest to be meh. I fear the other Exorcist movies now, as well.

The Professional (Leon) - 10/10, whatta movie. I apparently got a director's cut that had some extra scenes (from what I read on iMDB), and the extra scenes didn't take much away from the pace at all. Silly American version. Anyway, really, really good stuff, and I can't think of a dull moment in the movie.

In the last little while, some are second viewings or multiple viewings...

The Punisher- 8/10 Kept me entertained throughout the whole movie, loved the hatred, nothing too spectacular.

Mystic Pizza- 7.5/10 Kept me somewhat entertained at 2 AM during insomania. And Kat is one of those not-too-hot-but-still-hot girls.

Collateral- 8/10 Pretty sweet, actors played perfect roles, not too special.

Ninja Turtles 1- 10/10 I'm a TMNT mark but even so, this movie is awesome and better than most people would probably claim.

Shaun of the Dead- 7/10 Not as funny as everyone said it would be.

Anchorman- 9/10 One of the best new comedies I've seen in a long time.

Battle Royale- 10/10 Even after several viewings I love it each and every time.

Silence of the Lambs- 10/10 One of my favourite movies ever.

The Exorcist(new one)- 5/10 Just horrible IMO, we almost left after the first half hour, and should have.

The Girl Next Door- 7/10 Not better than I thought as some people have said, just an alright movie.

Super Size Me- 9/10

Excellent documentary with some big laughs (kids don't recognize Jesus). THIS is why I don't eat fast food.

Alone in The Dark: 5/10

Most of that 5 is for Martin Landau's incredibly evil performance. For those who know horror scenes, this is the one with Landau and Jack Palance in a white van chasing a postman riding a bike and Landau is screaming "I want his hat".

Twin Falls Idaho - 5/10.

Before Sunrise - 7/10

Before Sunset - 8/10

Cabin Fever - 3/10 just plain cheese after cheese after cheese. It was like watching a horror soap opera but without the convincing Mexican actors.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind- ****/****

Still a classic. I cared more about the Lacuna Inc. staff on my second viewing, but they still don't compare to Joel and Clementine. Great chemistry there. Jim Carrey works wonders in any film.

Fantastic film. One of my all-time favorites.

Rocky IV (6/10)

Unrealistic, cheesy and heavy handed in it's message but it still has some quality fight scenes and is a decent enough sequel.

Don't Say A Word (6/10)

Slightly dissapointing but a strong cast, decent premise and enough twists to keep it entertaining.

The Frighteners (8/10)

A very good, enjoyable, high-energy, original and very underrated film that is just plain fun.
