EdwardKnoxII 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2004 The Rock's Return Has RAW Tickets Going Fast The power of the Great One... WWE aired commercials in Atlanta during RAW this past Monday teasing the return of the Rock at the show. This has caused a huge spike in ticket sales for the show. WWE was planning to heavily paper the crowd but now that won't be needed. Credit: WrestlingObserver.com
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2004 Rock better be there or they will have to REALLY paper the crowd the next time they are in town.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2004 It would be funny if he didn't, but the WWE probably just found a way to sell tickets to RAW. OMG ROCK IS COMING BACK IN YOUR HOME TOWN ON RAW!
The Tino Standard 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2004 Note to self: If I'm ever promoting a sporting or entertainment event of any kind, do not hold it in Atlanta. The Braves don't draw. The Hawks are only a rumor right now. WWE was on the verge of needing to go to Office Depot to cover the amount of paper it would take to fill up the arena for Raw. Outside of Michael Vick (the most electrifying one-man show in sports), is there ANYTHING that draws in that town?
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted February 27, 2004 It's just a pity that The Rock is returning for what will no doubt be a medicore match at best. The Rock - in a medicore-at-best match - at WrestleMania XX.
SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2004 I don't know... so far the Foley/Rock vs Orton/Batista match has the potential to be quite a bit of fun if it is booked properly. Too bad Flair won't be able to compete
Slayer 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2004 *puts on dunce cap* Can someone clarify the concept of "papering a crowd"? The term doesn't sound familiar at all
Guest Goodear Report post Posted March 1, 2004 Papering a crowd simply means filling the seats with complementary tickets.

The Tino Standard 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2004 But the Braves don't draw- that's a fact. Attendance has been shit at Turner Field Bingo. The Braves are a fine team, they just don't draw anybody. It's especially sad to see all those fans in the upper deck dressed up like empty seats DURING THE PLAYOFFS. NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2004 The Rock will serve his 2-3 weeks of drawing power that he has shown the past three times he left for an extended amount of time and then came back. I am sure right after WM, everyone will go back to not caring about the Rock, like the past few times he returned. Everytime Rock comes back, there is less of a crowd to recoup. Not to mention the fact that they took a pretty decent looking stadium and completely ruined it by adding seats when the Raiders moved back to town. Now, it's a shithole in a shitty area.
