I fucking LOVE APB and Wizard of Wor. Didn't think they'd make the cut for this set but I'm pleasantly surprised.

Three MK games makes it an instant buy for me, with the other stuff just being a bonus for me.

I agree with Sakura, though, UMK3 would be an awesome addition to really round off the Mortal Kombat experience on the compilation. Alas, this rocks six kinds of ass as it is.

UMK3 not being in is just stupid. As far as the arcade version goes it's not even technically a seperate game. It's just a ROM update to MK3.

It bugs me seeing MK3 refered to as "MK III" everywhere in relation to this. It's "3". MK II is the only one to use roman numerals. A minor thing, but still annoying.

Just got the new GI--who are keeping up their usual fine journalist standards ("Matt Parker and Trey Stone"). It gets a whopping paragraph-long review.

EDIT: Kozmik Krooz'r (whatever the hell that is) is in; Steel Talons, MKI, STUN Runner are out. Timber isn't listed, Timber Wacko is. I don't know if that's different or not.

Yes, it's MK3, not UMK3. I don't get it either, but I'm not all that eager to play it so it's no big deal to me. No complaints about how it was ported. However, this is GI, so it's very likely they didn't even bother checking. No separate reviews for the two different console versions.

"Oh yeah, that miserable quarter-stealer Pit Fighter is included as well. That game always sucked." Well, that got that right.

This issue is 162 pages. Most of it is ads, though.

GI still sucks. Funny that they did a "most influential" list just like 1up.com (an affiliate of ZD) did. Big shock, FFVII ass-kissing is included.

Wait, STUN runner IS one of the games? I heard it got cut. I loved that fucking game so I hope it is still there.

Oops--no Stun Runner. Sorry--I looked too quickly and thought Spy Hunter 2 was it.

Release date is currently slated for October 11th.

EDIT: Shame about Stun Runner. Oh, here's the game no one had even heard about-- http://www.vgmuseum.com/pics/kozmik.html

Rolling Thunder is a Namco game, so I don't think you'll see it on any collections. Yeah, Atari published the American arcade version, but it was still a Namco game, and Namco themselves did the NES version, I believe.

Rolling Thunder was a part of Namco Museum Encore, a sixth release of the Namco Museum collection (they ran out of letters...) that had Rolling Thunder....and not much else. It's import only, so if you happen to have an import-ready PS1 or a PS2 set up to play PS1 imports, by all means go ahead. The rest of Encore doesn't seem to justify a purchase, though.

Here's a rant about the collection:

Damn. I didn't care when they cut Mortal Kombat 1, but cutting Stun runner sucks. That game was awesome.

I agree. Rampage wasn't THAT popular, certainly not enough to warrant that place in a classic arcade compliation.

It IS World Tour.

You misunderstood--they'd rather Rampage World Tour be nixed--I'm well aware the first Rampage was on the original collection. However, World Tour is a lot better and I don't see why anyone would *not* want it, aside from already owning one of the console ports.

Since I never picked up any of the console ports, I'm glad to have it.

I know I want it. It's pretty cool. I used to have the PSX port, but got rid of it.

I like how this is games from the 90's. I'm sick of all the retro collections.

A lot of the vids for this show MKT footage when hyping MK3. Very dumb.

Primal Rage 2 needs to be hidden or in MAT3.
