Guest Frank_Nabbit Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 The syndicated entertainment news show "Access Hollywood" put a surprised Mel Gibson on the phone with Arch Bonnema, the Plano, Texas, man who purchased 6,000 tickets at a price of $42,000 to Gibson's film, "The Passion of The Christ" so that fellow parishioners at his local Baptist church, theology students and other could see the film. Gibson, who had not yet heard about Bonnema's $42,000 ticket purchase, said it was "amazing" that someone would do something so selfless.
Guest Choken One Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 umm... Idiot. They could have spent the $9.00 themselfs.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 What a fucking moron. God lover or not, thats retarded. If I knew sooner, I'd find out where he bought the tickets and rob the motherfuckers. <<<Needs money.
The Metal Maniac Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 They could have spent the $9.00 themselfs. Not everyone has nine dollars to spend on a movie. Sounds silly, but it's true.
the max Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 Go to a matinee then. Only 4.50 for me.
treble Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 Well, hopefully Mel will give this dude his money back. God knows he's going to make oodles off of the movie, what's $42,000?

Vern Gagne Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 Gibson shouldn't give jackshit back. The guys probably really a millionaire who can afford to give away $42,000. The life savings story sounds better.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 Guess he now gets a lifetime pass to not put anything in the collection plate...
Guest stardust Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 Gibson shouldn't give jackshit back. The guys probably really a millionaire who can afford to give away $42,000. The life savings story sounds better. Since the guy's from Plano, that's probably the case.
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 Gibson shouldn't give jackshit back. The guys probably really a millionaire who can afford to give away $42,000. The life savings story sounds better. It would just be a nice gesture if Gibson did give it back since he will make a gazillion dollars off of the movie. Of course, if the guy is a millionaire then he doesn't need it, but if it were his life savings Gibson would probably pay it back. Either way, I don't see why he "shouldn't".
