Guest drdrainoscott Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 I just came back from the Olive Garden, and I found out the coolest thing in the world. On Fridays and Saturdays, they have 25 cent glasses of wine. No catches, and there are about ten different wines to choose from. I spent $3, and I got pretty bombed. This is the greatest thing ever. I asked the server and she said that all Olive Gardens are supposed to have this deal. I am going back every weekend from now on.

Cheap alocholic LOL [/not intended to be an insult mode] $0.25 per glass? Damn they must be trying to attract new customers. So not to offend anyone, I won't mention any insulting names.
Matt Young Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 I need to hurry up and turn 21 or (preferably) finally get around to acquiring a fake ID. Being a drunk's kind of expensive, and this could do wonders for my wallet.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 I've seen them do this before -- it's like a "sampler" bar, right?...
Guest drdrainoscott Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 Yeah, its a sampler bar, but the samples were normal glasses. I dont think people are supposed to keep coming back for more, but my friends and I didn't care. The bartender didn't mind either.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 They have to do something to make up for having such shitty food.
caboose Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 Not that I live in America, but wine sucks. I've never gotten the appeal behind it. I envy people who drink wine because its a relatively cheap way to get smashed, but I just can't drink the stuff, it just tastes so bad.
Guest Choken One Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 I perfer wine over most beers.
Nevermortal Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 Wine > Beer And Olive Garden sucks aside from their 6 dollar unlimited salad/breadstick/soup deal. Fuck the breadsticks and the soup, I just get ridiculous amounts of salad.
The Tino Standard Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 Horrible pasta there. Then again, I come from an Italian family that has homemade spaghetti every Sunday, so my standards are probably higher than most.
The Ill One Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 Oh don't worry about having too high of standards. I come from an Irish family, we hardly ever have pasta, and I still don't like the Olive Garden. Meh I'm too young to even look 18, let alone 21, but I got two words for getting smashed easily: steal extract.

Last time I ate pasta at a non-Italian family, I suffered through a bowl of those nasty homemade raviolis.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 I like white wine the best because its served chilled. Red wines are served at room temperature and thats like drinking a room temperature soda to me. Sauvignon Blanc or Gewürztraminer are two of my favorite white wines. I had a class in college, well actually 2 classes on wine/beer/other beverages and we had wine tastings. The first one was from US growers and the 2nd one was from French/German growers. Both times I was under 21 but it was allowed.
Lil' Bitch Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 That's awesome. Thanks for telling us, Dr. Draino. *plans on getting drunk next weekend
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 If I had the slightest bit of class, I'd appreciate wine. Seeing as I don't, however, vino's just another easy way to get bombed, should one be so inclined. I've never tasted a truly good wine in my life, I don't think.
