RHR Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Usually I just read the oao Raw thread at work, so that I don't waste my time going to the bar to watch the West coast playing of Raw. This week I won't just because I'm kind of excited to see Rock come back. I don't understand it at all....I mean, the guy pops up only when Vince needs the cheap pop and buy Rock is good for....and the angle he's entering has nothing to do with him whatsoever...so why do I care? I guess it has to do with watching the Monday Night War DVD, and seeing the reactions the crowds used to have, hell, the reaction I used to have watching Austin/Rock/Foley/Jericho/Team ECK(man, I loved Team ECK)...etc.... So, is it wrong for me to want to see The Rock and OS Taker? Can I sink into fantasy for awhile without the feeling of guilt? Can I crank up Pearl Jam's Ten, grab the weed, blow the smoke thru a paper towel roll with fabric softener on one end of it, and watch WrestleMania through the eyes of a kid, if just for one measly afternoon in March? The answer: No. Because the crap is too overbooked, and only watching Angle/Eddie will make me feel good. But man, it's nice to think that all will sink into place and work out perfectly and I will actually pop when Lesnar F-5's Crapberg. What do you guys think, will the Road to and the destination of WrestleMania explode the next two weeks and make it a memorable show?
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 All I know is that I'm hoping he does not come out with that horrible 'How's Your Lips?' T-shirt, or uses that line in his promo.
Austin3164life Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 All I know is that I'm hoping he does not come out with that horrible 'How's Your Lips?' T-shirt, or uses that line in his promo. Seriously, though, that's one of the worst t-shirts I've ever seen the WWE put out.
Lil' Bitch Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 THANKS FOR RUINING IT FOR ME!!! /guy who doesn't want to be spoiled (Just kidding)
iliketurtles Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 I don't understand it at all....I mean, the guy pops up only when Vince needs the cheap pop and buy Rock is good for....and the angle he's entering has nothing to do with him whatsoever...so why do I care? I was waiting for someone to say this all week so I could respond to them. I'm going to call a foul on you for that one...I disagree. Last Monday, Foley talked about in the interview how he couldn't believe "no one came out to help." In the way Foley said this is as well, you knew where it was going. On Monday, Rock should come out and say that "If the boys in the back won't help this man, then I'll be damned because I will." Remember back in December when Foley was in trouble with the Frenchies and Rock saved the day? Rock always has had the respect for Foley since the Rock & Sock Connection days and he has gone out of his way to help him out before. He's going to do it once again because Foley is outnumbered (once again). The angle Rock is entering makes great sense and considering he's very limited in what he can and can't do for feuds and angles because of his busy scheudle, this will do great and will have a nice pay off at Wrestlemania. There. That felt good to get that out.

It's interesting to see I'm not the only one who becomes a mark when I'm high and watching WWE programming. It became a problem eventually though, because every Monday night RAW would come on and I'd have to toke up to enjoy it. I remember watching the debut of Gowen on Smack! high and flipping out over the fact that Piper pulled his leg off. I was so DISGUSTED. And I thought Vince was seriously pissed at him. And I remember staring in awe as Lesnar/Show made the ring explode. Good times. I've since quit.
Guest Choken One Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 I just want to know if he's gonna wait until WMXX to reveal the new tats.
iliketurtles Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 I just want to know if he's gonna wait until WMXX to reveal the new tats. I don't see him wearing wrestling tights or shorts up until Mania on WWE TV, so I'd imagine.
Lil' Bitch Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 I just want to know if he's gonna wait until WMXX to reveal the new tats. I'm sure he'll be sporting his leather pants Monday night. By the way, I think its funny RAW is going to be Atlanta Monday and one year ago, The Rock beat the fuck out of Goldberg in front of his hometown and completely no sold the offense.
ChrisMWaters Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Wait a second...what new Tats does the Rock have?
Guest Choken One Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 I think so too...ESP since the SHOCK factor will work better at Mania... He'll have to wear the Track Pants/Shirt look again...not the Leather look...since the tattoos go from the stomach to knees
Guest Choken One Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Wait a second...what new Tats does the Rock have? The Traditional Samoan tribal tatto that goes from stomach to knees
Guest Coffey Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 grab the weed, blow the smoke thru a paper towel roll with fabric softener on one end of it, and watch WrestleMania through the eyes of a kid Most "kids" around me aren't illegal drug abusers....
BifEverchad Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Wait a second...what new Tats does the Rock have? The Traditional Samoan tribal tatto that goes from stomach to knees Really? Wow...he's certainly going the same route as the High Chief.
Guest Choken One Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Yep...I'm not sure why he is SO passionate about his culture when he lives in Miami/Hollywood... It's like he feels guilty.
Austin3164life Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 As much as I miss The Rock being on t.v., I don't really care for his comeback. What's the point of coming back for two weeks, leaving for 7 months, then coming back for a brief stint again.
Guest Choken One Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 What I want to know is why Is Batistia getting the slot? Wouldn't Ric Flair be better since he and Rock can play with each other and awaken the crowd after orton stinks it up
AndrewTS Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 What I want to know is why Is Batistia getting the slot? Wouldn't Ric Flair be better since he and Rock can play with each other and awaken the crowd after orton stinks it up Taking time off for injuries.

Wouldn't Ric Flair be better since he and Rock can play with each other and awaken the crowd after orton stinks it up Taking time off for injuries. Flair himself said he would work Mania... I personally feel Flair deserves it...not Botchtistia.
Lil' Bitch Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Flair himself said he would work Mania... Not if his neck is fucked up that bad.
Guest TonyJaymzV1 Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Yep...I'm not sure why he is SO passionate about his culture when he lives in Miami/Hollywood... It's like he feels guilty. probably the same reason I'm passionate about being Irish. When the Rock was a kid, he moved around alot because his family was in the wrestling business,so he never really had anything to "identify" himself with except his roots, and his family, which is why he probably feels so passionate about being Samoan. Plus, its probably family tradition, the tats I mean
Guest Choken One Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 aside from his grandfather...No One else in the Family has the Tribal Tats... at least the Wrestling Ones...
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Back & Neck Injuries finally caught up with Flair. I'm shocked it took this long considering he was seriously injured in the plane crash like 30 years ago. Or maybe he's getting too old.
Hogan Made Wrestling Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 What I want to know is why Is Batistia getting the slot? Wouldn't Ric Flair be better since he and Rock can play with each other and awaken the crowd after orton stinks it up Taking time off for injuries. Flair himself said he would work Mania... I personally feel Flair deserves it...not Botchtistia. I would have them both in and make it a handicap match. Rock and Foley are big enough stars that it won't hurt Evolution to have the advantage, win or lose.
Guest Choken One Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Exactly...Which Is why I think a guy who did so much for the sport should have a proper send off at WM...One last match against two of the greatest performers in the history of the bizness.
SuperJerk Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Exactly...Which Is why I think a guy who did so much for the sport should have a proper send off at WM...One last match against two of the greatest performers in the history of the bizness. I hear that. Which is a stupid thing to post, since I didn't actually hear anything, but read it. Um, in other words, I agree whole-heartedly.
Fökai Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 aside from his grandfather...No One else in the Family has the Tribal Tats... at least the Wrestling Ones... His father was African-American, and I don't remember him being linked to any other wrestlers of Polynesian heritage.
Guest Choken One Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 His grandfather was Samoan...and he's direct COUSINS with Rikishi.
Fökai Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 His grandfather was Samoan...and he's direct COUSINS with Rikishi. You are right - he has a direct relationship with Solofa (Rikishi) and Rodney (Yokozuna). But, the tattoos aren't required or even suggested to the descendants - Rocky looked into it, and decided to honor his family (everything so far on his upper body/left arm, is the "family seal" or story of his ancestors).
Guest Choken One Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 I know what it is...I was just stateing that he is the only visual member of the family to get these tattoos aside from his Grandfather....
