Guest Trivia247 Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 What I don't see is the purpose of the feud... I thought a feud even with a semi retired wrestler there is suppose to be some give and take to build up suspense for the WM match. But all it is, is Orton beating down Foley. Or Rather Orton batistia and Flair beating up on Foley.
EdwardKnoxII Posted March 2, 2004 Author Report Posted March 2, 2004 well...He gets to write his own angles now...which was a huge selling point for Foley. And he also got to shill his new book which is the biggest selling point for Foley for the last few years.
Guest Choken One Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 when does his next book come out? So we can get another UN-RETIREMENT angle.
NoCalMike Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 nothing really exciting or anticipating about seeing Foley wrestle. Forget that he is out of shape, in no condition to be in the ring, but he is retired already supposedly. I know I am beating a dead horse, but why should anyone care what Orton does to Foley when Triple H already did it a few years ago.
AndrewTS Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 Can anyone ever write themselfs good? Page might be the only one...he stuck himself with Benoit, Raven and Kanyon for the better part of two years...was willing to job himself once in a while...willing to drop to mid-card/tags everyonce in a while as well. I don't know what he was in charge of and what he wasn't, but what about Flair back in NWA/WCW?
deancoles Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 In 89 and early 94 Flair was booker for all of the programs going on.
Guest Choken One Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 Flair, I think controled WCW at its best in 1994 before Hogan and his circus act came in... Flair knew before anyone else that Austin was a star in the making and planned and putting Rhodes and Austin as the front of the company before Hogan came.

Flair even gave Steamboat one last main event program, i liked the triangle feud between Sting/Vader/Guardian Angel which was during Flair's last days as booker.
humongous2002 Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 I could give 2 shits about this feud, Foley was a guy that fell down from the HITC twice and walked(barely) on his own after the match was over, but a kid that punches like a girl, a broken down old man and a jakked up nitwit give him a pathetic excuse for a beatdown and Mick does a stretcher job??Are they expecting me to believe that???I know he is retired but he is still suppose to have "testicular" fortitude. Foley sold his soul to Vince and he is trying his best to get this untalented shitbag over, just like he did for another shitbag back in 2000, but i doubt it's going to work this time.
Spaceman Spiff Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 Except for the fact that The Rock would been more over than Cena and absolutely murdered him on the mic. I'll take Cena's watered-down face promos over Rock's supposed "comedy" 8 days a week. As for Cena/Foley - no interest, even if Rock is added.
jester Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 I'll say it again: I just think it's absolutely pathetic that they had to rehire Foley to find someone important to job to Orton. Does Austin need to be kept strong for the next time he drives around his little go kart or something?
Guest BionicRedneck Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 Didn't Foley want to put Orton over? Hasn't this whole angle been his idea from the start? Makes you wonder what he thinks is so special about Orton.

People are worried about MSG shitting all over Orton beating Foley, they'd RIOT if he beat Austin.
Spaceman Spiff Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 Hey, at least it would get him his 1st serious heel reaction.
EdwardKnoxII Posted March 2, 2004 Author Report Posted March 2, 2004 People are worried about MSG shitting all over Orton beating Foley, they'd RIOT if he beat Austin. Well with the way the crowds have been for the past few weeks if Orton beats Foley at MSG the crowd will just sit there and do nothing.
AndrewTS Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 Didn't Foley want to put Orton over? Hasn't this whole angle been his idea from the start? Makes you wonder what he thinks is so special about Orton. Let me remind you--a few months before reappearing he said that he didn't think the Nash/HHH angle was bad, and is not ashamed to have taken part in it.

People are worried about MSG shitting all over Orton beating Foley, they'd RIOT if he beat Austin. Fine by me. Anyway, if not Austin, how about the Undertaker? We just had to see UT/Kane Part XXXVII instead? Seriously, why is the entire WWE roster so depleted that they had to hire someone major for Orton to feud with?
Guest Choken One Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 depleted? They have 100 people on the active roster... Foley is the ONLY guy save for Rock who could make Orton look good...thats then ENTIRE agenda for the company right now
The Ghost of bps21 Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 I'd much rather Orton go over people like Foley and Rock. Better he go over people that don't factor into the daily WWE roster...than have him beat everyone you use...only for the WWE to find out way to late that it didn't work.

Guest Choken One Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 exactly... Gee...Another "RESPECT ME" angle...

Does anyone remember awhile back when Vince asked Foley to join the writing team or something like that with the writing? Why do I have the feeling if he did he'd just be a yesman and the angles would be just as bad or worst.
Guest Anglesault Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 exactly... Gee...Another "RESPECT ME" angle... Well, no, I mean the crowd would still riot.

Foley is the ONLY guy save for Rock who could make Orton look good...thats then ENTIRE agenda for the company right now Exactly. Over 100 people and none of them can elevate Orton. Why? They wouldn't even feed HBK to him properly. I don't like Orton, but apparently WWE loves the guy. And they apparently want to get him over. But what I see them to doing with him is completely half-assed. Foley has already been beaten definitively by HHH. I doubt beating him will get Orton over, especially if they allow Foley a tag win first and Orton a solo win later. And I beginning to suspect that even the marks know that they bring in the Rock between movie roles to get the new guy over (i.e. Goldberg).

EdwardKnoxII Posted March 2, 2004 Author Report Posted March 2, 2004 Because he still publically kisses Vince's ass? Because he loved the Russo era? Or Foley will talk about how bad the current direction/storylines in the WWE are and how he doesn't want to be a part of them but, the minute Vince flashes some cash at him or tells him he can shill his new book Foley is right there like whore.
RavishingRickRudo Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 Didn't Foley want to put Orton over? Hasn't this whole angle been his idea from the start? Makes you wonder what he thinks is so special about Orton. Probably nothing; and that's exactly it. Foley is "adding to his legacy" by "making" Randy Orton. I hope this "Mick Foley Returns~!" gimmick continues forever. Cause he's returned half-a-dozen times since December. "Mick Foley RETURNS TO RAW. It will be the first time we will see good ol Mick since his promo at the start of the show!"
Guest FrigidSoul Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 the additions of Rock, Batista, and Flair officially ruin this for me. Like the old saying goes, "Too many cooks spoil the soup"

Right, but I thought I'd established the fact that Foley is the biggest whore in the company, beating out Ric Flair and any of the "Divas," even. No need to repeat myself TOO much.
