I like the ladder match but i'm worried about the push that Hector Garza seems to be in line for.

These are looking like they are starting to be the only shows worth ordering.

That's why I'd like to see them concentrate their efforts on making the XCup a success first and foremost...and then work on fixing their regular shows. Although...the increased in ring action is certainly a step in the right direction. Now...as for the booking...

Honestly, if the in-ring action is great, the booking doesn't need to be anything more than average. Just go with the basics in booking, and give people tons of action.

What I meant was less about storylines...and more about who they book to feud with each other.

 

Other than Styles/Abyss...I don't remember the last time they booked a feud around two workers that can put on good matches.

 

The last decent in ring feud I can remember was XXX vs. AMW

 

I'd like to see them start booking feuds where the in ring action can be good.

 

Also...the lack of title matches (for all three titles) has been ridiculous.

 

One of the things TNA did well at the beginning was get over how much the wrestlers all wanted to be NWA Champion...

 

Now Raven will say it every week...and that's about it.

When he was in the WWF briefly in about early 97? They called him the future Shawn Michaels of Mexico. He disappeared from WWF TV shortly after.

Monty Brown was surpisingly good for an extremely green worker. He was athletic, had a good look, and was comfortable on the mic. Damn fine charisma, too. I just don't think bringing him in out of the blue like this will do anything for him, considering he hasn't been in TNA for over a year and a half.

BUT he cost ICP the match...so he's going to be over with the ICP crowd...which is easily the most vocal.

Not sure UK could put together a good lineup though. Fleisch is retired so he's out. Jonny Storm and James Tighe are the only two Brit wrestlers I know who work X style.

Brown looks like he can be a big player, and from what CL said, he has a chance once he's more experienced.

Hart/Aguila I can see being good, except for the ass tights Aguila likes to wear. ::shudders::

 

Juvi/Williams too, since Juvi can carry people to good matches and P.W. isn't too bad.

 

Other 2 singles matches can be toss ups as Garza is decent for his size, but never saw Evans, and Abismo Negro is the worst of the AAA guys.

Does it seem to anyone else like they need to reverse the order of the thing so that it doesn't seem like the winner of the last match wins the cup no matter what? The points set up of the tornament could so be used to set up stuff like 'if Sabin takes the pin here, then it doesn't matter if Lynn runs the table' and let that flow into a hot tag.

 

PS: Sabin seems low profile in this thing despite being X Champion. They so need to either push him as a bigger peice of the TNA team or just branch him out of the squad so he can concentrate on the belt.

Thats one reason Juvi not surviving at the end is good. Repitition.

 

Last Americas-X Cup Team NWA was trailing for the entire contest, and never recovered. Re-doing the same thing wouldn't work, so a dead even 4-4 tie going into the 8-Man Elimination this time makes it a little different, and doesn't feel like "OK, they are gonna pull the predictable Captains survive to the end bit" since Hector Garza is the final NWA guy left.

 

One good scenario is one team wins every match in 1-on-1 and tag, taking an 8 nothing lead. The only way the other team can even TIE is having all mebers survivr, which would be cool because they have to depend on each other to even think about tieing it up.

Has anyone mentioned if they're going to have another one of these in April? I know they're going to run one taped show a month now...but will they all be the X-Cup things?

If I had to guess...I'd say they could be doing AAA vs. TNA rematch.

Unless TNA can bring in actual X-Style wrestlers, and not comedy guys in clown masks, then maybe.

 

But the title "Americas-X Cup" wouldn't make sense anymore since Japan isn't part of North, Central, or South america.

 

I could see a TNA vs. AAA rematch but AAA vs. Japan would be questionable.

True, but then why bring in three japanese guys and actually call them part of "Team Japan?" Add to that, the three guys were wrestling Team TNA this week and it kinda seems thats where their going.
