deancoles 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2004 What the hell is with a few of those choices? I mean, Chris Jericho?!? The pathetic pyro, the list, the personal security, it was all FUCKING GOLD! What kind of idiot includes all of those classics in a "Downfall of WCW" page? And Disco's rip off of that damn Konnan video, Bret's steel plate to knock out Goldberg, Chavo being driven insane, Kanyon in general AND BOOKER T WINNING ALL THE GOLD ON THE FINAL NITRO were all great too. Some of those are a matter of taste, but come on! I think they're saying that wcw's downfall was in not using these situations to push the guys involved. Guest Deviant Report post Posted March 10, 2004 ^ Well they sure made that clear by sticking photos of great moments next to some of the worst and not drawing any distinction between the two. If they meant anything except "Everything on this page was pure WrestleCrap that contributed to WCW's demise", then they didn't come close to getting their point across. As it stands, it's an insult to some of WCW's finer moments, and that just doesn't make any sense to me.

Darthtiki 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2004 Is it just me or does Lex look like he's wearing a waxed version of Giant Gonzales/El Gigante's ring attire? How can you have a downfall of WCW in pictures without including Wrestlecrap Recording Artists 3-Count

An exciting tag team with a gimmick that was a heat magnet. They should have been given the World Tag Titles, honestly. -=Mike
Guest Deviant Report post Posted March 20, 2004 Damn straight, I'm currently making a "WCW: The Stuff That Didn't Suck" compilation tape, summarising entire years into 3 hour tapes more often than not, and 3 Count is one of very few consistent acts. At some points you'd think I was making a comp of 3 Count and Lance Storm matches... Oh, and Shane Helms vs Chavo Guerrero at Sin was one of WCW's best matches ever. So much of the stuff at the end was great - Shane Helms was really getting into his own, EZ Money as Jason Jett was doing nicely, you had the Cruiserweight tag team division...great stuff. How can you have a downfall of WCW in pictures without including Wrestlecrap Recording Artists 3-Count I think it's quite obvious to all intelligent wrestling fans that Luger and Giant Gonzalez would easily have been the greatest tag team ever. Heck, Kid Romeo was involved in a GREAT match thanks to that. AJ Styles got his first national stage (nobody has really answered this, but, where the heck is Air Paris)? WCW got their act together to some degree (the ME were still bad and the production was horrible --- WHY did they start doing promos backstage where the guys would, rather than look in the camera, look off in the distance at nothing?) --- but it was way too little way too late. -=Mike ...Or as Cornette said, "Fixing WCW would be like getting sodomy reduced to tailgating"

Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2004 omg, this makes me realize how much I miss WCW. A lot of it was crap, but it was crap you secretly enjoyed, but complained about online. and don't ever mock anything Jericho came out with in 98, as it was all pure gold. Do you remember when La Parka later got a dubbed voice and it would say stuff he wasn't saying and make fun of people, the look on his face was priceless(well what you couls see of his face) LA PARKA THE CHAIRMAN OF WCW

AJ Styles got his first national stage (nobody has really answered this, but, where the heck is Air Paris)? From what I've read in one of the mark magazine two years ago, along with comments from Styles himself, Paris just doesn't have the drive anymore. He'll occasionally work a Georgia indy, but that's the extent of his plans.

La Parka looked terrified before pulling out a small sign saying "I'm sorry", then getting the Tongan Death Grip. Good times
deancoles 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2004 That La Parka pic reminds me of my favourite Dusty saying. On a 1996 WCW Main Event, La Parka comes out from behind the trademark smoke. Dusty Rhodes: "Woah! A ghost!" Lee Marshall: "No, no. That's La Parka."
