Slingshot Suplex 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2004 Hercules was certainly an above average worker when compared to other roidstars such as Ted Arcidi, Dino Bravo, Rock Muraco, and current Steiner... LOL, those guys were all terrible. Especially Dino Bravo. What a loser, hanging out with a fat slob like Earthquake. I do feel bad that he was murdered by druglords in the mafia though, so please don't think I was overjoyed reading of Bravo's passing. Bravo wasn't too bad till he put on all that muscle. And while I was never a huge Don Muraco fan... he was a pretty damn good heel at one time.

Once the steroids took hold though, he was just another worthhhless muscle blob.

nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2004 Speaking of Herc, I was wondering... When did he drop the Hernandez part of his ring name, and was there a story behind it? Did he ever use the full "Hercules Hernandez" name in the WWF, or was that just in the Southern leagues? I don't remember him using the surname when he came to the WWF, but I might be wrong. Slingshot Suplex 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2004 I seem to remember Gorilla using the full name for a bit and I think I have a MSG match with his full name being used in the graphics on the introduction. I think it was dropped rather quietly early on in his WWF career.
Guest Banders Kennany Report post Posted March 10, 2004 Bravo wasn't too bad till he put on all that muscle. And while I was never a huge Don Muraco fan... he was a pretty damn good heel at one time. I only remember him as a face and being terrible. Did he stay face for the later part of his career after the heel run? That is what I'm assuming. Definitly, 70s and early-80s Muraco was a very good worker. Once the steroids took hold though, he was just another worthhhless muscle blob. Interesting. Where did he wrestle in those days? Speaking of Herc, I was wondering... When did he drop the Hernandez part of his ring name, and was there a story behind it? I think they wanted to play him as more of a mythical figure, and the Hernandez part made the Hercules part seem more like a nickname so they dropped it. Yeah his prime years he was heel but once he turned in the late 80's, I'm pretty sure he remained a face for his WWF tenure. 70's and 80's...I know he was in Georgia and the WWF..he was a two time IC champ back in the early 80's. I think he may have been in the Mid-Atlantic as well. That I'm not sure of.
Highland 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2004 I saw him wrestle during the 90's in the short-lived AWF and I assure you by the looks of him he wasn't on the roids. He even had a paunch.

He was Hercules Hernandez at WrestleMania 2 when he fought Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat.
