I just had a pal recently send me a few comp tapes and one of them features the above two shows. I've never seen them before (or have and don't remember), so I thought "why not ask here since most people generally are good at rating shows".

The Matches for each card are...

The Main Event (11/90)

WWF World Champion The Ultimate Warrior vs. Ted Dibiase

Nikolai Volkoff vs. Sgt. Slaughter

Big Boss Man vs. Mr. Perfect

Tito Santana vs. Rick Martel

Saturday Nights Main Event (4/91)

Ultimate Warrior vs. Sgt. Slaughter

The Bushwackers vs. Nasty Boys

20 Man Battle Royale

Bret Hart vs. Ted Dibiase

Tito Santana vs. The Mountie

That second show isn't particularly good even from a nostalgia viewpoint (which I will use to defend a lot of shows). Not that you can really knock a show too hard that has Hart-Dibiase!

The first show isn't much either but it has the Dibiase-Warrior match that set up the Warrior-Savage feud! Almost worth it just for that!

Eh, I like any show that includes a battle royale.

Agreed. They aren't great matches from a "smart" standpoint, but I always find myself pulling for someone and being on the edge of my seat waiting for the winner.

Me too . . . and it was cool to see Greg Valentine hang in there with Mr. Perfect as long as he did.

Gotta love ultrafake shoke stick effect in Mountie/Santana.

Warrior Vs Dibiase was probably the Warrior's 3rd or 4th best match.

That battle royal was a good one and had a oddball final 4 if there ever was one

Hammer, Barbarian, Shawn and Perfect(the only sensible one)

This match DID feature big names like Hogan, Roberts, Bossman etc but yet those guys were the final four.

We should set up a Official thread just for talking about Old School episodes of SNME or RAW/Nitro or Superstars.

I remember that was in the "Battle of the Titans" feature in the July 1991 issue of WWF Magazine.

Hogan was elimated by Tugboat!

HA!

HA!

Tugboat was eliminated by SHAWN MICHAELS before he meant anything. Double.....n/m, Tugboat sucked so it's understandible.

why didn't Tugboat and Hogan ever have a thing after Tugboat turned?

It seemed like they were teasing it and then they dropped it.

Damn Hogan for holding down Tugboat. He was money in the bank for WWF's future! [/Anti Hogan Mode]

Seriously, I think Vince got SMART for a few hours and realized Tugboat/Typhoon/Buffoon, whatever his name was, sucked, and needed to be pushed down the card.

So he went from being a Mid-card face who occasionally dabbled in the Main events to Upper-Card Tag Team Heel...that's being pushed down?

Well....teaming with Hogan kinda made him a top face. Especially since he feuded with the #1 heel at the time (Earthquake). Then in 1991 he got jobbed out until his heel turn.

I remember reading that someone thought Tugboat was Rhyno! Now that is crazy.
