Remember When Wrestlemania Was Exciting?

Recommended Posts

If you can inform me exactly WHY you would have any faith at all in this company to do the right thing, after the past three years, please inform me.

"Because it's WrestleMania"?  Yeah, that sure helped Booker T last year.

No reason. So you'll get an easy $80. Nice, huh?

Hey Patrick, that was an attempt from Raw to give their upper-card ranks some variety, and give a guy who is mega-over a shot.

But that's about it.

But, be it markish or not, I'd have to say that I agree with MoleSlayer - it is WrestleMania, WrestleMania XX, no less.

And no matter what happens, there will be at least one match on the card that you just have to see.

Only reason I'm somewhat stoked is because I'll be at Hooter's watching a bunch of drunken fools howl when the Undertaker comes out. I'm going with a few friends to eat, and watch the show. No damn way am I ordering this at home.

*shrug* Personally? There's really nothing on this card that interests me all that much.

And the one result that MIGHT make it worthwhile, Benoit pinning/submission-ing Triple H to win the World Title, is simply not going to happen.

The end. I've watched every Wrestlemania live since I became a wrestling fan(my first was Mania 8 in 1992), and I'm taking a pass this year.

Because they always seem to deliver at Wrestlemania. (Yes- I liked X-8 too)

I'm so excited for this show. It's the first Wrestlemania I've ever attended live. I'm missing three days of school during the busiest time of the year to see this show and I think it's totally worth it.

I can't wait for Sunday

Bet.

Hell, make it forty. Double or nothing.

If Beniot wins the title it'll be from HBK.

HBK beats HHH at Mania and then fueds with Beniot while HHH takes a month or two off. At Backlash or the whatever is next Raw PPV Beniot pins HBK for the title and the next night HHH returns.

That's the only way I can see Beniot winning the Raw title.

Eddy vs. Angle and the outside chance that Beniot wins are the only thing making me want to watch the show.

That's pretty much the only way I can see Benoit getting the belt: Benoit pins/submissions Shawn for it, HHH whines for months about not being pinned for the title until he inevitably gets it back.

Heck, if by some freak accident Benoit gets the belt at Mania, HHH may have it back by May 1st, so maybe this "bet" should be re-worded.

Out of the wrestling that'll take place this weekend, the match I'm looking foward to the most will be taking place at an indy show tonight in a banquet hall in downtown St. Louis, with maybe a hundred or so people watching, between two guys who aren't really known outside the St. Louis wrestling scene, Kory Twist and Jeremy Lightfoot.

I'm really starting to wonder about the mentality involved here...I mean, how many times do you have to touch a burning fire before you learn that you're gonna get scorched?

Except for the small matter that Benoit's not winning the title.  Not on Sunday, not at Backlash, not ever.

-Patrick

Care to have a wager on that? I bet twenty he has the title before the end of April.

Where in all hell did you get that impression?

Personal wish?

Because NOTHING I see on Raw suggests that the loser who won't get out of HHH and Shawn's feud will ever win the belt.

Partly that Benoit's role as underdog in this feud makes me think they're trying to make his eventual title win all the more of a surpise.

Partly that WWE guarantees themselves a huge pop at Backlash if Benoit wins it there.

But mostly it's just unadulterated mindless optimism.

The Big Show is a better fat wrestler than that guy.

Looks like once more, mindless unadultered optimism rules all.

PowerPB13, just PM me when you want the address to send the $40 to. Cheers.

Well, since I'm basically a spineless, ball-less piece of shit, how about I just leave the board instead? I think that would satisfy at least a few people...

Or, you could honor the bet you were so confident you'd win. That's what you get for trying to 'out-smark' the smarks....even when it was all but guaranteed that Benoit would win, you still bitched and moaned about Satan Vince and Hitler H. I guess the WWE DOESN'T have a personal vendetta against Benoit now, huh?
