Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2004 How come Hogan is the featured star on the cover? I thought it would be Ultimate Warrior.
Perfxion 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2004 Who is the bigger star? Hogan or Warrior? Hogan on a Legends of Wrestling cover would make people buy it over Warrior. Athough I would give equal spacing to Hogan, Warrior, Savage, JYD, Sting, and Rhodes. Try to get as many of the former fans from the 80s a shot at buying it. MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2004 Shame Dusty ain't doing commentary instead. Although, I absolutely loved LOW's 8-Man Survivor Series match. Fun for everyone when your foe gets whipped into your own corner. I'll be buying.

DangerousDamon 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2004 "im pretty high up!" Jake THE SNAKE Roberts?! WAT A SPOT!! Eddie is the one diving from the ladder. Rude is the one standing on top of the ladder in the first pic. Jake the Snake is getting a Cobra Clutch by Perect in the middle pic. I guess you got Eddie and Jake mixed up. Karnage 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2004 How come Hogan is the featured star on the cover? I thought it would be Ultimate Warrior. I think its a law to have Hogan take up more than half of every Legends of Wrestling game cover.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2004 Here is a video of the game from IGN. The movement looks a bit jerky in places, but otherwise it looks great. The reversal of the Sharpshooter is especially cool. The commentary also sounds pretty good. http://media.sports.ign.com/articles/499/499800/vids_1.html
Guest Coffey Report post Posted March 18, 2004 It still looks like trash to me, just like the last two, which I made the mistake of buying. Sting doesn't even put the Death Lock on correctly. Was this game even made by wrestling fans?
Guest cpac Report post Posted March 18, 2004 When has acclaim been wrestling? Not that I can remember.
dubq 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2004 Holy crap, I will so be turning off the commentary if I ever play this game. Who is that, btw, with Shchiavone?
Karnage 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2004 When has acclaim been wrestling? Not that I can remember. Acclaim has been making games since the NES days. The people alongside Tony Schiavone on commentary are Bobby "The Brain" Heenan and...Larry Zbysko. As for the video, I really hope its just an early version of the game. I think they should know Sting's Scorpion Deathlock shouldn't be called a Sharpshooter.
Guest cpac Report post Posted March 18, 2004 Yeah I know acclaim has been wrestling for the wwf since the nes days. But that doesn't make them wrestling. Name me one good acclaim wrestling game. OOooo you cant I thought so. Acclaims crapfest wrestling games have been putting the wrestling games back years. At least thq and aki make decent games and continue on them. Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2004 *shrugs* I'm willing to give anything the benefit of a doubt. At first. I mean, if I hadn't, I wouldn't have played and liked MVP 2003 or Disgaea. I'll give this game a shot and see if it is any good. It is definitely looking good though, I must say.
Karnage 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2004 Name me one good acclaim wrestling game. I'll be honest, back in the day I did enjoy WWF Attitude and War Zone. As for games that haven't aged horribly, Royal Rumble/RAW from the 16 bit days were pretty fun.
Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2004 I still play the old Royal Rumble game on my Megadrive every now and then. Repetitive as all hell, but I'll be damned if I don't love every second. I'm also one of few who really liked Attitude, but not so much Warzone. Nothing comes close to WCW vs nWo though. dubq 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2004 RAW and Attitude are two of the best games from them. LOW2 was pretty good. Attitude? You're bloody crazy. That's like saying their ECW Hardcore Revolution game for PSX wasn't painful to play.

Honestly, after Acclaim's travesties with that engine [Warzone, Attitude, ECW] I lost pretty much all faith in them. LOW redeemed them a little bit but they still have TONS to work on. MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2004 Judging by the movies, I think I'll turn commentary OFF for this one. The selling looks a little better in this version than in the second one.

I haven't seen any movies with more than 2 guys in them, but hopefully they fixed that annoying permanent camera zoom out during tag/multi player matches! Karnage 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2004 Uhh does it freak anyone out that in one of those videos The Ultimate Warrior does a running plancha and they call Dusty Rhodes the Dynamite Kid? Andre doing the Rikishi BUTT slaps and spinning in mid-air from a clothesline needs to be fixed. Also, that ringing noise you hear every second is annoying. But IGN says its still very early, lets hope it isn't like this in the final version.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted March 20, 2004 RAW and Attitude are two of the best games from them. LOW2 was pretty good. Attitude? You're bloody crazy. That's like saying their ECW Hardcore Revolution game for PSX wasn't painful to play. I didn't mind Anrarchy Rulz for a month or so. Had some modes in there never done before. They had Brimstone, Barbed Wire, etc, yeah--but they weren't fun to play. Anarchy Rulz was worse than the WWF ones, though, because you could only do about 3 moves until you were eligible to move up to doing more complicated moves (stunning/dizzying opponents and stuff). It was really irritating.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted March 20, 2004 I know it's silly but I hope in this one they have both versions of the Sharpshooter/Scorpion Deathlock, Bret uses his left leg to step in and Sting uses his right leg.
Perfxion 0 Report post Posted March 20, 2004 Attitude was a great game for its time with the way you can make the set for an arena, had a good CAW and a good CA-PPV. The moves were done better then the ones before. And the best part: in your moveset, you had to decide if you want your stronger moves weak by moving up weaker moves, or do you want your weak moves not really working well and just keep your strong moves strong. Eh, it's not that silly. HCTP had a few versions of the Sharpshooter in it, it wouldn't be out of the question for Showdown to have two versions. Not that it's a big deal, but I hope they fix the Sharpshooter/Scorpion Deathlock animation. In the Sting-Savage video, Sting doesn't use his "free" leg to turn Savage over. Karnage 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2004 There are more videos of Showdown in action out. The first is Bret Hart VS Eddie Guerrero from IGN. Click here to check it out. I really can't stand that shaking noise that's heard every second. Team XBOX got some videos. These look like more updated versions and are a lot better in quality, but the titantrons have nothing on them. http://xboxmovies.teamxbox.com/content.php?id=590 http://xboxmovies.teamxbox.com/content.php?id=
