EdwardKnoxII 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2004 Paramount Set To Remake Pet Semetary Yes, another remake... Paramount Pictures is getting ready to make a remake of Pet Semetary, the 1989 horror movie based on Stephen King's novel. Mike Werb and Michael Colleary (Face/Off) will be doing the screenplay. The book and the film both told the story of a special cemetary where for generations, people come to bury dead pets in order to resurrect them. As they come back in their second life, however, they act in a very aggressive and violent manner. When a family decides to bury their small boy in the ancient Indian burial ground, all hell breaks loose as the sweet innocent child isn't what he used to be. Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted March 11, 2004 I agree. Considering that it's not really even likely that this film really has a cult following either.....strange.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2004 It has a cult following of one person, myself. I think it was great, but I can't muster much interest in a remake.

lomasmoney 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2004 Is there a statute of limitations on how long a movie has to be out before it can be remade. I mean the original came out what 12 or 13 years ago.

Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted March 12, 2004 I've only seen Pet Sematary 2, starring Edward Furlong - entertaining, but not exactly good. Speaking of remakes, the Gus Van Sant remake of Psycho was not needed. Not needed at all. It's funny the way that, when it's shot-by-shot a carbon copy of the original, it can suck so much more. Mystery? I think not. That's what you get when you've got Hitchcock in the Director's chair, and the horror film that revolutionised the genre.

Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 13, 2004 Why can't Hollywood , if they REALLY want to do re-makes...just look at old movies... I MEAN movies from the 50's...not movies from 1988.
