BoboBrazil 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2004 The second Americas X Cup TNA Pay-Per-View is in the books, and once again all of the athletes involved deserve praise for the effort put forth in the event. The X Cup Pay-Per-Views are quickly becoming a "must see" for fans of TNA and the matches got rave reviews across the internet. I also had the opportunity to sit down and watch a tape of the night, and I've gotta say I was especially impressed with the Teddy Hart and Jack Evans vs. Juventud Guerrera and Abismo Negro tag team match. It was everything fans of the X division dream of seeing in the ring. I've also got to say I was impressed with Jack Evans of Team Canada, who has the skill and personality to go a long way in this sport. To check out photos from the event, CLICK HERE. I can tell you that TNA officials are already in the planning stages of the next America's X Cup event, which could feature multiple teams competing on one night. The final elimination match may change to something extra-exciting as well, but I don't want to let the cat out of the bag just yet. MARCH 29 - THE FIRST "GUT CHECK" According to TNA Academy At The Asylum trainers Terry Taylor and Scott D'Amore, the first "Gut Check" is scheduled on March 29 at the TNA Asylum. In order to qualify for the school, newcomers will first have to pass the "Gut Check" to see if they have what it takes. We'll have ALL the information about the school up on the website in the next few days as we prepare for the Academy's grand opening. To read on how you can apply for the "Gut Check" please CLICK HERE. KAZARIAN ISN'T COMING ALONE I received a juicy rumor from one of the TNA matchmakers after the Pay-Per-View, and according to the source, Frankie Kazarian "isn't coming alone" this Wednesday night on Pay-Per-View as he takes on Team NWA member "Primetime" Elix Skipper. Kazarian has returned to TNA with a mission, and that's to make Team NWA pay for not including him on their roster. Something tells me Kazarian has some big plans in mind when it comes to Team NWA. Who will Kazarian bring with him? Tune in and find out. Check out the official Pay-Per-View preview by CLICKING HERE. TNA MAKES MAJOR NEWS AT LA'S CTAM On Thursday night, members of TNA were out in full force at the annual CTAM convention in Los Angeles. For those of you who don't know what the CTAM meetings are, it's basically a major convention involving the heads of the cable network industry and some major players from Hollywood and entertainment. In addition to TNA President Dixie Carter unveiling TNA's new "Wrestling Reinvented" campaign, Jeff Jarrett, AJ Styles and Johnny Fairplay were also in attendance. A special highlight video was shown to all those in attendance, and to say the cable network executives were blown away would be an understatement. After the festivities, many of the cable network heads even lined up to get pictures with Jarrett, Styles and Fairplay! TNA has officially served notice to the world of entertainment that we're going to be a major force, and they got the message loud and clear. To read the official press release, CLICK HERE. CAN ABYSS FLY? One match in particular I'm looking forward to this Wednesday night on Pay-Per-View is the Ladder Match between AJ Styles and Abyss for the #1 contender. Talking briefly with Abyss, he's excited about the upcoming match, and he believes this one has the chance to outshine their epics in previous weeks. To say that AJ and Abyss will unveil some new, innovative moves with the ladder is a given, as both take extreme pride in putting on a blockbuster match each week. Ever see a 6'8, 300+ pound superstar fly? You'll see it this Wednesday on Pay-Per-View! THE TAG TEAM TITLE SITUATION I've heard through the grapevine that a decision regarding the NWA Tag Team Title situation will take place on the March 24 TNA Pay-Per-View broadcast. TNA matchmakers are going to great lengths in planning their decision regarding the titles and the crowning of new champions. That's it for this week - enjoy Wednesday's Pay-Per-View! Astro101 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2004 If they have multiple teams, I wish they would spread it over 2 weeks...one week to squeeze everything in will be rushed.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted March 13, 2004 Hmmmm...... I wonder how WarGames would work as the final X-Cup match. It would be cool to a degree but I couldn't really imagine X guys making a match like that work. Here's hoping they can manage to get a team CMLL together. Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2004 Actually, I believe his contract is up next week. It could be Spanky.
Guest Devin Report post Posted March 14, 2004 It'll be Spanky. He's already scheduled to wrestle Frankie on PWG's card on the 27th. And those "clowns" (Ebessan & Kuishinbo Kamen) put on two of the most entertaining matches I've ever seen last weekend. I do agree though, that they shouldn't be wrestling in the America's Cup, it's not their style. If TNA would have actually used them correctly, it could have been great.
