He constantly bows to popular opinion, to the point where he barely has any individual views of his own.

 

He's constantly beating himself up, even though he's fortunate enough to have stuff in life that some people would kill for.

 

He half-asses practically everything he does, letting any potential he may have completely go to waste.

It's like this: I watch pretty much all the wrestling that I have access to, and at one point I enjoyed it a lot more. Even the little "quirks" and goofiness that go with professional wrestling are part of the appeal...wrestling is something I don't have to take too seriously, in a life where I have to deal with serious issues on a regular basis. I work at a talk radio station, so I get the "privilege" of hearing about exactly how fucked up the world is on a regular basis.

 

Coming online, it seems like there's an entirely different definition of being a wrestling fan, and basically it boils down to one thing: Hatred. Hatred for certain people in the business, hatred for certain aspects of the business, hatred for organizations that don't view things in the same way. There are positive sentiments about wrestling, sure, but in general it seems like the majority of the sentiment that I see online is negative.

 

So over time, I've developed quite a bit of hatred for the wrestling business and certain aspects of it, believe me...maybe because I feel like that's part of being an "internet wrestling fan". I want to be able to just watch and enjoy the product, but those days are pretty much gone and I envy the total marks who are still able to watch wrestling like that.

 

That's that, I guess.
