MVP Baseball 2004

With the way Gillik and your new GM fucked things up you do have a challenge. You basically have Piniero, Ichiro, Raf Soriano, Garcia, and a bunch of aged positional players.

I picked the BoSox because they are my team and I couldn't be anyone else. I lost to the Yankees in the first game of our series and I actually got pissed off. Well it didn't help when I hit Boone on purpose in the 4th, just because of what he did during the ALCS. He later becomes the go ahead run, which was the run that I never could get back.

I am not very good at video games. Plus the fact that I haven't played a baseball game in GoD knows how long. So I am playing at the Pro level, which will probably go up in a few weeks since I am getting a hang of the game pretty quickly.

So this is a good game?

*goes to video store*

I like it.

Just wish my PS2 wasn't busted so I could play it.

I have the same thing going on but I can kind of still play mine kind of.

Thanks.

Mine's done for. Again...

I really hate Sony.

Edit: I wish I could continue my season, as I think I would've been in the World Series by now if I had.

I am home for a few days, I took a mini-vacation from school/work so I could spend time with my Pops around Easter.

I left my GC at school so I would have some time away from MVP since I can't ever put it down. But I was at my friend's house tonight and we were playing it on PS2. I am sooo pissed I left it at school because I want to play RIGHT NOW!!!

Does anyone else notice the catching thing though?

I have.. if you're talking about when they are showing a replay of a strike. It annoys me.

I wouldn't have such a problem with all the CPU amazing catches if I was better at making some of the great ones myself.. I guess I just have to master my timing.

In defense of that rediculous CPU AI when it comes to fielding, if it wasn't that way the scoring would be silly like the Triple Play series was.

I adjusted the sliders of the All-Star level as Kingpk posted and that seems to help... a little.

Still too many wacky catches IMO. Course doesn't help I'm playing my dynasty as the Tigers so getting any bat on a ball is a challenge considering the craptastic line up I have.

That and Fernado Vina is going to miss 75 days with a torn rotator cuff injury.

I feel your pain. I played Bonderman in the second game of the season, and he goes down with a torn ACL, out for the season.

:(

I was not amused.

However, nothing beats putting Sanchez on first with a bunt, and having Pudge and Dimitri work to bring him around.

Traded Higginson for some crappy Double-A player for some salary relief, which has turned out to be a great move, because Craig Monroe is playing incredible.

I think it's a great game, I love it.

I downloaded this game a week ago...

I've started a franchise as the Brewers.

This game is awesome.

The only bad thing is... since the Brewers have the lowest payroll in the league... I doubt I'll even be able to field a team next season.

I'm 12-2, so far.

I'm still trying to find good sliders for how I play (since I'm worse than most).

The problem is that:

1) I dominate with pitching. I can consistently hit the corners, and more often than not, I'm pitching shutouts.

2) I can only hit home runs, or outs.

I dominate pitching the same way. Nothing to be ashamed about that as a problem. It just means you hit the corners efficently, and besides, most pitchers are supposed to do that. Hit the corners after about 20 games is a little harder, because batters will be expecting that and have it scouted. Trust me on that.

As for hitting, you have to be willing to swing late and early on swings as well, to get hits. I know that's simple and stupid sounding, but it strangely enough works.

God that sucks.. but I can top it, I lost Mark Prior on the 1st pitch of the 1st game to rotator cuff. Thx restart dynasty mode over.

Get into the playoffs and you should expect a boost in payroll.

Assuming you can get the Brewers into the playoffs.

I got the A's to the playoffs in my first year and I didn't get an increase in payroll.

Either you are playing on Rookie, you are really good, or you are cheating somehow.

When I first started playing, I was playing in Rookie and hit a HR every other pitch. Then, I switched to Pro and it was a challenge for me and no more HRs every other pitch.

Pussy, you're suppose to overcome that shit....not hit restart.

Hehe, you know if it would've happened mid-season I probably would've kept going, but since it was right at the start fuck it .. reboot. Wood and Clement are the hosses on my staff anyway.

I have had two injuries. I lost Chris Woodward with a broken hand for 13 days after he got into a brawl and I lost Josh Towers for 3 months with a broken leg. Woodward wasn't a big loss (I just played Chris Gomez who did about as well) and Terry Adams is 5-0 since taking over the #5 spot in the rotation. Batista & Hentgen take most of my losses from my starters, but my terrible bullpen also has a tendency to blow games. Lilly is 9-2 and Halladay is basically untouchable or at least his curve is. He is 12-1 with a 1.57 ERA, 111 Ks and an opposing AVG of .168 on June 19th. So of course his contract is up at the end of the year and I don't have enough money to resign him.

I play on Pro.

I'm not hitting a home run every other pitch... I'm hitting on average, 2 or 3 per game with the Brewers, who have no hitting. With the Jays, I was hitting 5-10 per game.

Kahran, keep the man happy and he may give a hometown discount. His happiness level affects his willingness to sign.
