Should Farooq Come To TNA?

Recommended Posts

Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes

Non-Wrestler role maybe. He's too old to be anything in the ring. Hook him up with Truth as a manager. And since Faarooq is a name owned by WWE, he's now and forever Ron Simmons: Gladiator Among Men.

Why is he too old to be anything in the ring? He was still getting big pops in WWE and seemed decent enough in the ring wrestling wise. Age doesn't matter if you can still go.

So does that mean Dusty Rhodes should be brought in to wrestle all the time? Pops mean nothing if your past it, especially when Simmons wants to retire and get a Road Agent type job.

I could enjoy Simmons in a manager/enforcer role for Truth, assuming Killings ditches the dead weight known as Konnan and BG James and takes on a more serious gimmick.

If I kept to keep 1 member of 3LK to be with Truth, it has to be B.G. James. Not because of his in ring skills..... ...but because Konnan is probably way pastr his prime and it's a matter of time to when he retires. Plus B.G. is better on the stick I think. Konnan only has the dumb opening line he says every night and the toss my salad/peel my potatoes bit.

Yeah sure...TNA welcomes ALL cast-offs.

If they are good then I welcome them. If they are past their prime or suck balls like Saturn (past his prime) and Jamal/Ekmo Fatu (sucks) then I say "ugh...".

TNA can't create any stars(AJ Styles isn't a star no much how much you want him to be) so they seem to be trying the WCW route by BUYING talent that leave Vince but Raven, D'Lo, B.G James, Saturn and all the others aren't exactly Hogan, Savage, Luger, Hall and Nash are they?

If TNA really wanted to be truthful to the fact they are the alternative...Don't bring in the people from the other company, it only makes YOU look weak by accepting the ones the BIG BOYS didn't want or felt weren't important.

Don't touch Simmons. Create your own Identity other then being the land of WWE Castoffs, They couldn't really capitlize on the X Divison and then it became the Jeff Jarrett Show and then the Vince Russo Show...

I, for once, would like for someone to explain to me why it was wrong for TNA to take guys like Raven, D-Lo and the Truth. Guys who were in the WWE...should be off limits to any other promotion? Even though the WWE hadn't come up with any way to use them at all? They should be blacklisted for life?

Furthermore...by your rationale...AJ Styles not being a star...means that no one CAN CREATE stars if they aren't known to the large WWE audience. TNA...no stars of their own. RoH...no stars of their own. Why? Because they didn't go to WWE and be released yet?

Everyone who watches any kind of indy wrestling knows who AJ Styles is. He is one of, if not the, biggest name in non-WWE wrestling. So for him to not be a star...you'd be saying that anyone who hasn't stepped into a WWE ring...is also not a star of any kind.

Farooq was one of the more popular people on the Smackdown side. You have someone that was just fighting for the world tag titles this past weekend and gets alot of exposure on tonight's smackdown. It would be stupid not to bring him in in my opinion atleast for a small program against someone.

Yeah, this would do absolutely no good for the company, especially considering their apparent "wrestling first" attitude.

He's old, he doesn't want to wrestle anymore, and he isn't all that charismatic. I think they have plenty of wrestlers in TNA that could say "DAMN!" on call.

I say yes. He could come in and feud with Monty Brown.

and why would you single out Brown as someone for him to feud with?

I have two things to say:

First off, it pisses me off when people refer to it as "TNA" as opposed to "NWA." I don't know, I guess it's a pet peeve of mine, but "TNA," despite what it really stands for, is childish and immature. It comes off to me as...pitiful.

Secondly, Farooq in NWA? Fuck no. He doesn't bring anything to the table. Pay someone to come in as a manager? No. Pay a bad talker to come in? No. Pay a retired wrestler to wrestle? No. He's never been any good. He wasn't any good in Doom. He wasn't any good as the "All-American" Ron Simmons. He sucked as Farooq, and the APA or Acolytes in general were a fucking joke.

Let the man leave.

Okay. So I suppose they should have never brought Jerry Lynn in, you know, since he's a WWE Reject. And they should have never brought Raven in because he's a WWE Reject. Or Truth. Or D'Lo. Or, inevitably, Spanky.

You DO have a point. TNA has made some stupid decisions in terms of bringing ex-WWE people in. Jamal should have never been brought in, Saturn was questionable (though I've heard good things about his match against Barton), as was Justin Credible. But so many "WWE rejects" you ceaselessly bitch about HAVE contributed to TNA and been entertaining. If everyone thought the way you do, Steve Austin, Mick Foley, and Chris Jericho would have never come to WWF.

So I suppose if someone like Lance Storm, Tajiri, Ultimo, or London gets cut tomorrow and someone suggests that they might come (or in London's case, return) to TNA, you'd complain about that?

How is Raven a WWE-reject? He made his name in ECW. How is Jerry Lynn a reject? Same as Raven. D'lo Brown? Grossly underused by WWE. Truth? Same as D'lo. Jarrett made his name in USWA.

Everyone in NWA-TNA either came from WWF/WCW or are just Indy guys.

A.J Styles is a WCW reject I guess. How about WCW reject Konnan and WWF reject B.G. James.

But the point isn't what they did BEFORE going into WWE, because Choken clearly referred to both Raven AND D'Lo, and besides, anyone who is released by WWE is immediately branded a WWE Reject no matter what they did before going to WWE/WWF.

Exactly. It's a branch of NWA, and probably one of the more known branches across the country, but it's still TNA. Not just the NWA.

I think they should feud with Monty going over eventually and Farooq realizing that Monty is the better man and become his mentor/tag partner. I think Farooq and Monty could be an interesting tag team.

I don't give a fuck what the goddamn name of the mother-fucking company is supposed to fucking be. If I have a pet peeve and dislike something, you mother-fuckers won't talk me out of it. TNA sounds fucking ignorant. Just like the shitty fucking team of Albert & Test in WWE. It's stupid. It's childish. It's immature. Suck my e-cock.

There, I got some profanity out of my system. I apologize. I'm really big on my pet peeves though. Seriously, even if it's the name of the company, someone has to agree with me. You don't think it sounds stupid? They got rid of the dumbass cage dancers, so what TNA is really left? I'm not talking about Total Nonstop Action either. I'm talking about the implied Tits and Ass.

For the record, the promotion is NWA:TNA. It's still the NWA. It just has the TNA at the end. The title is the NWA title though. At least to me it is. I still look at it with all the NWA prestige behind it. I can't be alone.

Once again, my first paragraph should not be taken to heart. It was light-hearted and it good humor. I just don't take too kindly to people disagreeing with my pet peeves.

If people call it just "Total Nonstop Action" unabreviated, then its annoying. But I can look past it as just TNA. ::cowers in fear from last post::

The Tag and Heavyweight titles are NWA. The X title actually isn't. Just like all the other NWA affiliates have their own titles...the X title is a TNA belt. The other two are NWA.

The company only mentions NWA anymore when they talk about the belts. The name has been phased out for a while now...for whatever reason.

Hell...when I order here It says I'm ordering "TNA wrestling".

Hail, we all know why they've done that:

Because as soon as they possibly can, they're going to leave the NWA and be independent of them.

Actually I think Jarrett gets the rights to the NWA name if he uses it for so long.
