Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 There seems to be another scene that seems awkward... Maybe it's my slight hearing problem in my left ear, but I could swear that when Jake gets eaten (well, kinda), Michael screams "NO"....but then it ends up being "Jake". I'm probably not hearing it right, or this is true.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted March 27, 2004 Report Posted March 27, 2004 AMC is showing Jaws 2 and Jaws: The Revenge now...(when did either of them become classics?!) and I think its the good ending for Jaws IV, even though the movie still sucks. LISTEN TO THAT LIONSHARK ROAR!
Jericholic82 Posted March 27, 2004 Report Posted March 27, 2004 I guess I am one of few who actually liked Cable Guy. The best part is the parody of the oj trial with the two twin child stars. They show an ad for a tv movie about it and I was rotfl. that and when cable guuy beats up owen wilson in the bathroom. I saw jaws revenge when I was a kid , haven't seen it in years, so I don't remember much of anything about it. But it was on tnt last night, maybe it's on today, I'll have to catch it.
Nighthawk Posted March 27, 2004 Report Posted March 27, 2004 Man, lots of people like Cable Guy, that's why I questioned what the fuck was wrong with him. Ok yeah, a lot of people don't, but they're idiots. They're the same people that keep crap movies at the top of the box office. Millions of em. But ask anyone whose opinion you respect as an intelligent connoisseur of fine film, and they'll tell you it's good shit.

It was both funny and down right creepy at the same time. I think the reason it was hated so much was because at the time Carrey was doing all those WACKY~! comedy movies so, of course, Carrey fans were going in think Cable Guy was another WACKY movie and instead got something very different. I bet if the movie had came out now with the stuff that Carrey has it would get a better reaction.

LISTEN TO THAT LIONSHARK ROAR! It's probably TV editing or something. Oh, and I think AMC stands for American Movie Channel or something. I asked this same question a while back when I watched Halloween 5 on that channel...
kkktookmybabyaway Posted March 27, 2004 Report Posted March 27, 2004 Here's something else I just realized. In Jaws II a water plane (or whatever those things are called) gets dragged down by Jaws the Second. Now, since the pilot never surfaced I'm assuming he got eaten. But yet when the same thing happens to Hoagie, some lush pilot, he manages to escape and even make a joke about Jaws the Fourth's breath. Now a trained pilot can't get away but Hoagie can? Oh yeah, I just figured out why Hoagie got away; the first pilot wasn't about to bang Ms. Brody...

I said I'd watch the movie if it was on, but I would never put it ANYWHERE near my favorite movies of all time. My top 5 sucks (in no peticular order) Horror: Jaws Adventure: The Goonies Comedy: Liar Liar Drama: A Beautiful Mind Misc: Lethal Weapon Notice I like all different kind of stuff, but this was off my head top 5 movies. I'm bias though.

They actually shot the footage for Jaws 2 where the shark is attacking the pilot inside the mini-copter under water, but never show him eaten. It's in the deleted scenes section on the Jaws 2 DVD I think. I presume Hoagie (god that name sucks) just jumped out the other side of the plane and swam like he was a mexican. Or the shark wanted the Brody's.
Nighthawk Posted March 27, 2004 Report Posted March 27, 2004 Lethal Weapon is an action comedy, you have no action category, yet file it as misc. I'd just call it the action category.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted March 27, 2004 Report Posted March 27, 2004 Wait, you did or didn't like these five movies you just mentioned?...
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted March 27, 2004 Report Posted March 27, 2004 Wait, you did or didn't like these five movies you just mentioned?... I like them all A LOT, but only 2 are **** movies. So I may have a shitty top 5.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted March 27, 2004 Report Posted March 27, 2004 OK, I thought those were your worst top 5. And even though I really have no opinion of "Liar Liar," one of my all-time favorite lines is in that movie: "STOP BREAKING THE LAW ASSHOLE..."
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted March 27, 2004 Report Posted March 27, 2004 Now the worst 5 ever...(that I can remember) Finding Nemo (Thats right, I hated hated hated hated HATED this movie) Ready 2 Rumble Friday The 13th Part V Batman & Robin Jaws: The Revenge I find it funny my top 5 includes JAWS, and my worst 5 includes Jaws The Revenge.

Maybe because Jaws the Revenge is a P.O.S?
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted March 27, 2004 Report Posted March 27, 2004 Yes, I know Jaws IV is a piece of shit...it's even bigger considering I just noticed a few scenes with a long shot of the shark where you can easily see the mechanism thats pushing the shark around.
King Kamala Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 Am I the only one who thought Jaws 2 was decent? I mean it couldn't hold Jaws' jockstrap, but I thought it had it's moments. The only thing really wrong with it was the subplot about sail boating (Eecch).

Defintely not as much as the first (nothing touches Speilberg) but it had a very good plot considering it was a sequal. But if anyone has the balls to say Jaws 3 and Jaws 4 were good, then they must answer to my little friend.
Nighthawk Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 Problem with Jaws 2 was the burn on the shark make it look fake. I like Jaws 3 because I liked it as a kid.

Jaws 3(D) was TERRIBLE, but still better than Jaws Da Revengeeeee-uh. Too bad the 3-D scenes were shit-D. HAHA! Get it?! Shitty= Shit-D! I'm a fucking genius! Someone get me a job as a script writer.
Nighthawk Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 Problem with Jaws 2 was the burn on the shark make it look fake. I like Jaws 3 because I liked it as a kid. Nice logic. Sarcasm? I like it for nostalgic reasons, that's not so strange. I don't know how old you are, but it starts happening a lot when things you once loved are forgotten more and more. Jaws 3 does have a certain B movie charm which Revenge lacks, though. Revenge felt more like a tv movie.

Not really sarcasm, but by that logic, I should still be watching the old Muppet Babies cartoons. (shudders) Actually, I probably would since I liked them back in the day. I guess the Jaws 3 plot really didn't click with me, and felt like a half-assed sequel to another sequel.

Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 I'm surprised I didn't get an instant replay on that one. I wish someone would do a Jaws parady like Zanuck & Brown wanted for Jaws 3. That would've been kick ass hilarious.
DMann2003 Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 AMC is showing Jaws 2 and Jaws: The Revenge now...(when did either of them become classics?!) When AMC decided to stop showing Classic movies because TCM got the rights to all the real classics.
Secret Agent Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 Well I think it's suppose to be the off spring of the shark that comes before it. Like Jaws 2 shark is Jaws 1's baby, Jaws 4 is jaws 2 baby, while Jaws 3 is a seperate lunatic Michael Meyers shark. I don't remember much about Jaws 4 except I seem to remember the ending that made no sense as I only saw it about 10 years ago. However, wasn't the shark like frantically swinging it's head back and forth with blood spurting everywhere as Ms. brody had some flashbulbs going off? That's oddly how I remember it, and to this day it still sounds awfully strange.

The shark @ the end of Jaws 4 did a vertical leap, standing on its tail just about for 10 seconds while Michael had this device that triggered something in the shark to make it get shocked (Jake droped 1 in his mouth before his "death). While this happend, Ellen steared the boat into the shark and impaled it, forcing it to bleed all over the place and take with it part of the ship.
Vern Gagne Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 As a movie series ever declined in such a drastic matter than Jaws. The originial has a great story, excellent performances, and really goes beyond killer Shark terrorizes beach town. The end scene can't be overlooked, Scheider blowing up the Shark with a oxygen tank, and uttering the famous movie line.

I liked both of them a lot so....
