Guest Besus Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 Orton got heat every Monday in Feb minus 1st and every Monday this month minus last night cause he wasn't their. Why are some of the haters still saying Orton has no heat? When will the Orton is heatless posts end? Every time the name Orton is posted in a thread, someone says something similar to Orton has no heat and I've seen this the past 7 months and I thought when he started getting heat every week in Feb,their would be no more of this but I thought wrong. Since Feb Orton has got thunderous boos, asshole chants, you suck chants and cheers. Do some here know this but still want to sit in the Orton has no heat wagon? I think it's time for who ever is denying to get out of the wagon cause Orton is over and well that's that. Orton has no heat jokes or whatever you want to call it has been stale more than 5 months,it's not funny and I'm done.
Tawren Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 Since Feb Orton has got thunderous boos, asshole chants, you suck chants and cheers. Uh, no, no he hasn't.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 This threads starting post is full of more shit than a super sized bed pan. Yes, I'm stealing Cena lines damn it, but it works here.
Guest Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 That is called a canned heat machine right there buddy.
deancoles Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 When did he get an Asshole chant that didn't involve Pat Patterson.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 Randy is in the middle for me - he gets heat, but not a great deal. The most that he gets is when Ric Flair and Batista are helping him beat on Mick Foley.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 This thread is doomed! Randy Orton should have gone to smackdown where they could have edited his matches and put a lot more canned heat in.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 When did he get an Asshole chant that didn't involve Pat Patterson. When he ripped off Zach Gowens leg....oh wait that was Roddy Piper. Never I guess.
The Amazing Rando Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 When his promo aired last Monday...he got "BOO!" right at the start...it quickly turned to NOTHING while he talked...which could be because the fans wanted to listen... I guess. I mean... there was heat there...but hardly anyone gets sustained heat, even through promos, unless they are deliberately playing to the crowd.
razazteca Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 Orton should of never been outside of the tag team division. I think Flair should say that since Evolution is the tag team champs any member can defend belts. Of course this opens up the double champion angle but you know it will go nowhere because.......... Survey says Orton has no heat. But seriously Flair should not be wrestling any more unless it is on a PPV or a special match.
Guest Besus Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 Since Feb Orton has got thunderous boos, asshole chants, you suck chants and cheers. Uh, no, no he hasn't. Sarcasm,I know but... He got thunderous boos during the 10 minute Foley beat down w/Flair&Batista. He got asshole&you suck chants the Raw before WM XX. He got cheers when he pinned RVD in that triple threat. Orton got cheers when he got the 3 on Foley at WM XX. For those who don't think he did.
deancoles Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 He got boos during the beatdown because it was boring and the fans wanted it to end.
Highland Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 Newsflash: Orton gets heat. Here's another: He's not pushed down your throat. When he's main eventing PPV's and going over top contenders then he's getting the god-push, but until then, everyone that bitches about him getting a god push doesn't know what that is. And here's a question: How do you create a new star? Answer: By pushing them. The only reason why Orton's push is called a god push is because much of the iwc hates him. What a markish attitude.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 He got thunderous boos during the 10 minute Foley beat down w/Flair&Batista. .....AHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!! Oh my god, thats the funniest shit I've ever read. .....
razazteca Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 Would the world end if Orton, Test, Palumbo became a team?
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 Would the world end if Orton, Test, Palumbo became a team? Orton, Test, and The Bashams as the New Horsemen = Much Much MUCH scarier.
Brocklock Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 Would the world end if Orton, Test, Palumbo became a team? Orton, Test, and The Bashams as the New Horsemen = Much Much MUCH scarier. Replace the Bashams with Jindrak and Cade and that is a walking nightmare.

The force is strong in this one. The thing with Orton around here is that we have a couple of delusional, but unfortunately, very vocal posters here who constantly obsess over Orton and his percieved lack of heat. Is he insanely over like Cena or Eddie? No, not at all. But few people on the roster are. And he's a long way from sub-zero heat territory like Jindrak and Cade. Or, for that matter, internet golden boy Paul London. (there, that oughtta ruffle a few feathers )
AndrewTS Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 When his promo aired last Monday...he got "BOO!" right at the start...it quickly turned to NOTHING while he talked...which could be because the fans wanted to listen... I guess. One guy: "Randy sucks!" And here's a question: How do you create a new star? Answer: By pushing them. The only reason why Orton's push is called a god push is because much of the iwc hates him. What a markish attitude. If the guy seems to lack the things that will make him a successful placeholder star (i.e. not a Rock, Hogan, Austin--but a star with stable appeal who can be an excellent buffer at the top until one of those appears), then it's a wasted effort. Except for actual wrestling, Batista is outshining Randy Orton by leaps and bounds. Randy's slowly improving as a worker, but the fans don't get his character and it hasn't been proven he can sustain heat. Yeah, they hate him for beating Foley, and when they extend the feud probably he'll get some decent heat. However, when Foley's gone, will they remember or care about it? Randy's heel character is about the most bland, poorly defined, ambiguous one of the roster. The test is--would a complete stranger be able to get into this character and cheer/boo him based on first impression? I personally don't think so. Although as long as he's kicking Foley's ass, I'll enjoy watching him.
Scroby Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 Oh for the love of...just let it go man. Most of us hate Orton, let it die!
King Cucaracha Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 The test is--would a complete stranger be able to get into this character and cheer/boo him based on first impression? I personally don't think so. Doubtful. Then again, it's doubtful for three quarters of the company. I won't say much incase THOR decides to flame me for being Orton's lover again...but the fact is Orton's heat has rose from minimal to noticeable. It's nowhere near 'thunderous' heat like Besus said, but it's there. Hell, I can name at least ten guys with less heat than Orton, but get less attention from the Smarks.
AndrewTS Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 Hell, I can name at least ten guys with less heat than Orton, but get less attention from the Smarks. So can I. 1, 2. Bashams 3. Rico. 4, 5. Jindrak, Cade 6. Shannon Moore 7. Kidman 8. John Reddenbacher 9. Venis 10, 11. Those "Japanese" guys that hang around with Tajiri. Does Test still work there? However, these sort don't get tons of TV time, time to cut promos, hold the I.C. title, or rub elbows with top stars. Orton does. I'd gladly conceed that for a good portion of 2002, Christian was heatless despite getting the IC title, promo time, and TV time. The booking was partly to blame. Now, look at the Foley feud: until, I presume, this month or so, the feud didn't seem to be so much putting over Orton as it was putting over Evolution, Foley, Rock--and Orton's somewhere in there. The singles match idea was ditched to do a tag match, and Orton beat Foley. So, he come on Raw to cut a bragging promo and maybe defend the IC title? Uh, no. I don't even recall him defending it, but that could just be the meaningless nature of most TV title defenses numbing my memory. Regardless, this booking is supposed to make people care about Orton. How? Tell me, I'd really like to know. Seems like he got enough heat for, say, a chickenshit manager directing his tag team to beat the hell out of some one, though.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 The reason that people criticise Randy Orton for his lack of heat (somewhat) is because it is expected of him after such a push.
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 For the push he's gotten. Beating Foley week after week, a win over HBK and rarely if ever jobbing. He's nowhere near over enough to justify the push he's been getting. On a good night he gets a midcard response if he's lucky. He's also the least over member of Evolution at the moment. I also think the WWF has to be extremely careful with Batista and Flair or they're tag champs are going to start getting face pops all the time. Batista got a pretty big one for powerbombing Booker T and getting the belts.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 It's just because of his age, I believe - what else could contribute to it? Possibly the fact that people think/know that he is better than them, and appreciate him. But I'd rather watch a crowd of marks than the other. One of WrestleMania XX's low points.
Guest Random Hero Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 I could go onto TV and beat down Mick Foley and the crowd would boo me...because Foley is over to the point where anyone who goes against him (save for Austin and a couple of others) automatically gets boos.
Spaceman Spiff Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 I won't say much incase THOR decides to flame me for being Orton's lover again Actually, it looks like he got BANNED~! yesterday. Anyway, Orton's has been getting some heat. It'll be interesting to see how he fares post-Foley, which is the real test. However, Dupree seemed to draw more heat this past Monday than Orton did on any Raw I can remember.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 Look on the bright side of people being banned (if they're an asshole, then it already is): It free up some much-needed space for others to "Join in our spirited discussions".
