Scroby 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2004 The plan right now is for Paul Heyman to return as a heel manager on SmackDown!, and not directly head into his role as head of the rogue ECW company. While WWE is still heavily considering an ECW return, the current plans have Heyman returning as a manager, who will have a huge impact, rather than the commissioner of a new company right away. If they do go the ECW route, he could technically steal some talent from RAW and SmackDown! during the course of his return. Again, that is still in the plans, but is not the immediate idea for his return. Heyman made his return as Lesnar's manager after WMX8 two years ago, and was responsible for getting Brock Lesnar so over. It should be interesting to see how this plays out. Downhome 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2004 I'd book it that Heyman managed people on BOTH shows. Make it so that WWE didn't hire him back, but instead, individual wrestlers hired him to be with them. This way, he could infect both shows with his way of thinking, leading up to his eventually getting the guys that he gets with, to join his ECW group. Guest Coffey Report post Posted March 28, 2004 Hopefully Val Venis. Then they could play up that Heyman can see all of his potential, and that would give them an excuse to get away from the horrid porn star gimmick. I could see him taking a recently split tag team player under his wing too. Like Shelton Bejamin to help him in promo's. Too bad both of those wrestlers are on Raw. Shit, I'd mark out if he took someone like Jamie Noble under his wing.
Scroby 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2004 Thinking about it, this could work for someone like Lance Storm.
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2004 Thinking about it, this could work for someone like Lance Storm. If I admit this is a good idea, I will be inadvertently decreasing the probability that the WWE will do it to .05%.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2004 What about Shelton Benjamin? He was Brock's roomate or whatever, and Heyman has had history with Benjamin. He can help him put him over.

It would be worth it. He wouldn't have to do so for too long, two months or so maybe. Have him work RAW, then SD the next day. Everyone used to do that, it wouldn't be that big of a deal for him to do short term.
haVoc 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2004 Plus, he wouldn't have to work house shows every week. Don't call him a manager. Call him an agent that way he could be with guys from both rosters.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2004 Heyman + Bradshaw = Duh. I can't see who else on Smackdown is heel, being pushed and has suitable history with Heyman. Except maybe Haas, if he's in line for a singles push.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2004 Won't be Haas or benjamin...I see a WGTT reunion sooner rather than later
CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2004 Since there are a lack of heels on Smackdown, I think Heyman should go with a face who isn't really doing anything, and turn them heel. I dunno, maybe someone like RVD...
Dandy 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2004 It would be so cool for Heyman to get hired by individual wrestlers on both shows to be their agent/manager. Great idea! One wrestler, say RVD, could hire Heyman first and then mention to someone else backstage how good Heyman is. After that, it snowballs to where more and more people are getting Heyman's help. Do the ECW break after that. Here is who I would have him manage on both shows: Raw Shelton Benjamin Tajiri Rhyno Smackdown Charlie Haas RVD (heel turn) Paul London (heel turn)
Guest Coffey Report post Posted March 28, 2004 I like the Paul London idea. That could work. Rob Van Dam could work well too. Especially since he obviously lacks in the talking department, and if there is anything that Heyman is good at, it's talking. Haas? Eh. I don't care about him truthfully. The rest are on Raw, so we'll have to see how things unfold before I speculate on that...much like my earlier post.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2004 I don't even think he should be a heel/face. Have him manage guys on both shows, some that are heels and some that are faces. If this leads to ECW, you don't want just a bunch of heels with Heyman. I've always wanted a manager that was with faces and heels at the same time. A guy who wasn't in it for the boys, but for the money that he can make himself regardless of who he is with. On RAW, stick him with A-Train, Tajiri, and someone like Storm/Hardy/Rhyno. On Smackdown, let him be the agent for Bradshaw, the Dudleyz, Paul London, and possibly RVD or someone like that. The Heyman/Bradshaw combination could be great, and would also make sense. Bradshaw wants to further his wrestling career and he knows that Heyman could do just that for him, while on the other hand Heyman will need a go-to-guy for his finances once his ECW starts up. They are just trading services for one another. I think they could really work great together. Do not play Heyman as a straight face or a straight heel. Allow the fans to decide when to cheer for him and when to boo him. Have this go on for maybe one PPV each for RAW and Smackdown, and after that have him reveal his big "plan" for doing all that he's been doing for the past two months. He did it just so he could sway a few guys to join him and the rebirth of his ECW, to show Vince, Bischoff, and everyone else that he can be sucessfull on his own. Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted March 29, 2004 There is another option... Heyman can come back as almost a Tweener....and be the type of manager he was back in ECW when he managed Sabu Taz and 911... and just starts a big feud with the Bischoff Administration with his choice wrestlers. Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2004 I wouldn't mind him managing Big Show again. He should gather some guys just for the hell of it like he was doing in early 2003 before he got injured. He had a nice stable going similar to Heenan's Family.
