rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted March 29, 2004 Report Posted March 29, 2004 The first artists have been confirmed for the Reading and Leeds Festivals over the August Bank Holliday Weekend in the UK. Headliners are The Darkness, The White Stripes and Green Day. Also on the bill are 50 Cent, The Offspring, Ash, Morrissey, The Libertines, Franz Ferdinand, The Hives, Lostprophets and The Streets with more to be announced later. Discuss.
Anorak Posted March 29, 2004 Report Posted March 29, 2004 Doesn't exactly fill me with exitement, I think i'll give it a miss this year.
The Decemberists Posted March 29, 2004 Report Posted March 29, 2004 Apart from Moz it looks awful. I still think I'll go though. I'll have to find something to throw at the Darkness. Darkness < Everything else in the world
nl5xsk1 Posted March 29, 2004 Report Posted March 29, 2004 How I'd love to be a fly on the wall the first time that Morrissey and 50 Cent cross paths. 50 Cent will probably mutter some shit under his breath, not really comprehending that Morrissey's fame has, you know, lasted, and he's not a joke like Mr. Cent is.
DCMaximo Posted March 29, 2004 Report Posted March 29, 2004 Well I'll be moving come summer and given the choice between paying a deposit on a flat or watching tat like 50 Cent, The Libertines, White Stripes and Franz fucking Ferdinand, I see housing as the wise investment. Only Ash, Morrissey and the Darkness appeal and I've already seen all three live before. None of the headliners come close to filling me with excitement like Metallica did last year.
caboose Posted March 30, 2004 Report Posted March 30, 2004 On another site, I read AC/DC, The Beastie Boys and Muse were showing up too. If they do, I'll probably go, but the lineup in Chave's first post is beyond shit, White Stripes and Streets aside.
rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted March 30, 2004 Author Report Posted March 30, 2004 Personally, I'm loving this years line-up. Much better than last years crap.
PLAGIARISM! Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 Morrissey (even though I'm going to glasto) is almost reason enough on his own, but Leeds is the ass of the universe and full of nu metal twats. I dunno why he'd bother.
Lord of The Curry Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 Green Day is still alive? Colour me surprised.
PLAGIARISM! Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 They just look sadder by the year, I can't believe they're back again either. Also, even if you're a fan, you can't warrant their place as a headliner. They struggle with big stages as it is.
