DerangedHermit Posted April 4, 2004 Report Posted April 4, 2004 Here is a good article from Bill Simmons about yearbook quotes That guy who asked actually graduated with me (although, those jackasses spelt his name wrong - it's Busk). His Ambition quote ended up being: To be able to look back in ten years and say, "Wow, I have a lot of kids, and gee, my wife is hot." I didn't think of a good enough quote, though.
Art Sandusky Posted April 4, 2004 Report Posted April 4, 2004 We didn't have quotes, but I would have said "Goodbye blue Monday!"
Slayer Posted April 4, 2004 Report Posted April 4, 2004 We didn't have quotes, but I would have said "Goodbye blue Monday!" I dunno what I would've put, but it probably would've sucked I bet half my classmates would've fallen into rule #1 from Simmons' article and said "Wu-Tang Forever!"
Guest Choken One Posted April 4, 2004 Report Posted April 4, 2004 "The Most Comfortable place is the silence that comes from your Fake Sincerity" I have no idea what it meant.
CanadianChick Posted April 4, 2004 Author Report Posted April 4, 2004 I was reading my past high school yearbooks from when I was in grade 8,9,10. Damn, some people are very sappy. Fuck that. I'm using a light-hearted quote, and a funny message. I don't want to waste all my space thanking people. The people who have helped me know who they are, they don't need me making them feel special by naming them by name.
Firestarter Posted April 4, 2004 Report Posted April 4, 2004 "You must yourselves realise the power of Athens, and feed your eyes upon her from day to day, till love of her fills your hearts; and then, when all her greatness shall break upon you, you must reflect that it was by courage, sense of duty, and a keen feeling of honour in action that men were enabled to win all this, and that no personal failure in an enterprise could make them consent to deprive their country of their valour, but they laid it at her feet as the most glorious contribution that they could offer. For this offering of their lives made in common by them all they each of them individually received that renown which never grows old, and for a sepulchre, not so much that in which their bones have been deposited, but that noblest of shrines wherein their glory is laid up to be eternally remembered upon every occasion on which deed or story shall call for its commemoration. For heroes have the whole earth for their tomb." JUSTICE - LIBERTY - HONOUR - SERVICE - FAITH - LOVE - DUTY
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted April 4, 2004 Report Posted April 4, 2004 Marney also wore a toga instead of a cap and gown.
Art Sandusky Posted April 4, 2004 Report Posted April 4, 2004 I would have guessed that Marney's quote would have been the lyrics from Nasty Boys.
Firestarter Posted April 4, 2004 Report Posted April 4, 2004 Marney also wore a toga instead of a cap and gown. I wish. I would've looked hot.
DerangedHermit Posted April 4, 2004 Report Posted April 4, 2004 Marney also wore a toga instead of a cap and gown. I wish I could find a picture of JR in a toga, and say, "Hey, it's Marney."

The one that we will get won't fit more than like two fucking sentences. Very short ones at that.
Firestarter Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 Okay, seriously now. How big is the space that you guys got? The one that we will get won't fit more than like two fucking sentences. Very short ones at that. Each senior had half a page. Most people filled up theirs with photo collages; mine was handwritten. Our graduating class had about 22 kids in it, and the entire school from kindergarten to 12th grade was less than 700 people.
Guest BANKYWOOD Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 Oddly, my yearbook quote was banned. I don't even remember what I put, but I'm one of the only ones who didn't have theirs published.
Firestarter Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 Oddly, my yearbook quote was banned. I don't even remember what I put, but I'm one of the only ones who didn't have theirs published. A friend of mine had to change his yearbook collage because one of the graphics he used was some cartoon strip character saying "Sex machine." He pasted "Party machine" across the top, but badly, so when it was actually printed "Sex" showed through. The admins had a fit, but given that he'd already graduated they couldn't really do anything.
Guest stardust Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 We didn't have quotes, we just listed everything we were involved in and any scholarships we'd gotten, etc. Needless to say, some of us had extremely long profiles, whereas a lot of people didn't have anything. Come to think of it, I didn't even get a senior yearbook.
Red Baron Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 Well here's mine. Droogies!!! These four years went by quickly. I wouldn't know where I would be with out my Iron Maiden and Megadeth CD's, and to all the younger kids, support Heavy Metal and nothing else. To the very few Habs fans left here, we are the better team. Remember. Praise Heavy Metal, Mullets, and the Montreal Canadiens, and you'll get through HS. "Scuba" I won two joke awards, Who Can Be Heard Through The Halls, and Best Nickname.
Guest BDC Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 Having a space would've been nice. Instead, they spent the credit from the printer on damn gold embossing that was, and I quote our editor, "So pretty".
Corey_Lazarus Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 I forget what I actually put, but here's what I SHOULD have put... Fire under crimson kings, true honor embraced, world of reality lying done.
Guest Retro Rob Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 This is life so go and have a ball. Because the world don't move to the beat of just one drum. What might be right for you may not be right for some. You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and there you have... my yearbook quote. You shouldn't take life to seriously. You'll never get out alive. **Who can NAME THAT QUOTE??? The first I mean**
The Amazing Rando Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 ^ Van Wilder (among other things i'm sure)
Ripper Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 William - supurb artist, dedicated athelete, devoted friend, focused student, cunning lingust. NO ONE got it until the year book was out. And if they did, they let it by.
Guest Retro Rob Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 ^ Van Wilder (among other things i'm sure) The first one that I wrote. The second one has been said a countless amount of times by a countless amount of people.
The Amazing Rando Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 Oh... after doing a little research... The first quote is from Family Guy. (you never said i couldn't cheat and look it up)
RavishingRickRudo Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 It kinda sounds like the facts of life theme.
The Amazing Rando Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 the second sentence of the quote is from the second version of the Facts of Life theme (after researching again). but not the first sentence.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted April 6, 2004 Report Posted April 6, 2004 At the end of the year, our school yearbook does small profiles on this graduating that year, with name, etc. You know, the basics, and including a quote. I don't know what I'll put for mine... Maybe: "You do not compete with Vince McMahon if you've only got one bullet in your gun, because if you hit him with one shot you're not going to kill him, you're only going to make him madder." - Hulk Hogan It's actually here. Sure, it would make no sense for a high school yearbook, but I love the quote.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted April 6, 2004 Report Posted April 6, 2004 Mine was something like "I don't like quotes"
justsoyouknow Posted April 6, 2004 Report Posted April 6, 2004 I'll probably go with: "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the enequities of the weak and the tyrannies of evil men. Blessed is he who in the name of charity and good will sheperds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger...and you will know my name is The Lord...when i lay my vengeance upon thee." Or: "Party hard 'till we hit the floor, cuz we're the class of '04!" The dumb bitches in student council decided that was going to be our class motto....despite the fact that "04 Rocks More" was popular amongst the metalheads and "04 Smokes More" was popular amongst the stoners, we're stuck with this stupid TRL shit.
