Tonight's Survivor

Recommended Posts

Most these Survivors make me sick EXCEPT for Rob and Amber cuz they were the only ones who successfully differentiated between the game and life. Lex and Kathy, I don't like. Was Lex even playing Survivor here? Why does he have to confront almost everyone and have an out of game like conversation with them inside the game?

Let me ask you all something, if you were in a Survivor game with people who you have some friendships like these "All-Stars" have, would you sacrifice the friendship for a million dollars or would you stick to your bond with them and probably not go as far as you know you can?

I, personally, am very confident in saying that I could easily seperate the game with personal affairs and have to backstab these people if I have too. I'm a lot like Richard in that I think there is a clear difference between the game and life.

If you're not willing to play the game, why play the game? Only one person can win, of COURSE you're probably going to get lied to and voted off. Lex and Alicia and Kathy - pretty much sour grapes. Rob shouldn't have been mad at Tom, though - he was blindly and stupidly thinking he could go to the final two with Mariano.

I'm so glad that Boston Rob didn't win. He's a lying, cheating, egomanical asshole that to where he was at by screwing everything in sight over.

However he still gets the money by marrying Amber......hmmm........good bit of strategy? Boston Rob's last bit of strategy...hehe........anyways it would've been a travesty if that dipshit won the money.

I think this was the last episode of Survivor I'll ever watch. There's no point in watching four months of a series, just to finally have the wrong person win.

The right person winning was Rupert. When we got down to those final 2....I realized that there was no good winner and I wanted somebody to vote "No winner".

I mean........Rupert worked the hardest out of all of them. All Rob did was lay around on his lazy ass so he'd be rested for the challenges then go and stab people in the back.

Congrats to Rob and Amber on their engagement. Congrats to Amber on her victory.

Shii Ann, congrats for getting the car. You deserved it for being one of the few on the jury to have a clue.

Hatch owned the reunion. He called Lex and Kathy on their bullshit.

CBS, don't insult me. If you want to give Rupert a million, do it. I guess his dreams will finally come true. Hey, some people earn success and others get it handed to them. I guess we now know which side Rupert lands on.

Yeah Rupert earned it. He worked the hardest on this Survivor while Rob and Amber laid around relying on lies and deceit to get what they wanted.

Yes Rupert you earned it.

Yes Rupert you earned it.

You are COMPLETELY forgetting about the strategy aspect of Survivor. Rupert was an absolute dumbass when it came to plotting and strategy. He let Jenna make all his decisions for him, and was then carried by Rob to as far as he was. He didn't take advantage of several opportunities in the game to put himself in position for a better chance at the million dollars......and he was moronically dumb when it came to the relationships with the other people on the island. Not only did he reveal his alliance - FOR ALL TO SEE - when he handed out the food after that Reward Challenge, but he did his best to piss off everyone on the island after having a hissy fit over cleaning the fish. Rupert was nothing more than luggage during this game. Sure, he was able to fish and carry wood, but that's only one aspect of the game - and not the most important one at that. Besides, Rob was able to catch fish just as well as Rupert. And Rob looked like he could build a DAMN good shelter....unlike Rupert, who had the grand idea to build a cabin undernath sand.

Rupert didn't earn anything.

Totally agree, that reunion showed exactly why he's my favorite survivor player. He doesn't get too tied up in the game and maintains a level head about everything.

Thats part of the game, fucker. Honestly, must everyone be as boring, plain, and vanilla as your fat ass? Its a fucking game, and Rob played it better than everyone else. The guy almost won the entire fucking thing despite having tricking everyone, and making them look retarded. I think its commendable how the guy dictated the entire game, had everyone follow his every word, picked up the broad, and come ONE vote away from winning a million dollars. If you as a socially inept bumpkin confuses that with being an "egomaniacal asshole" in the terms of Survivor which is to outplay, outwit, and outlast than you clearly don't understand concepts very well, and you only hate what you aren't. I almost pity the fact that you have absolutely no grasp on human nature.

Rob still didn't earn anything. He was a lazy piece of shit that used lies and deceit to win. If this were a movie he'd have been killing people to make it to the top.

Rob didn't earn one damn thing.

Rupert worked the hardest and made sure everyone had food and fire. Yeah he got mad with the fish......but that was b/c Rob and Amber were lazy pieces of shit. I would've been pissed to. He was right. They laid around conserving there energy so they could win challenges.

I value the hard work over being a piece of shit.

Rob and Amber didn't earn anything.

Rupert earned everything.

Survivor is almost 90% strategy and 10% surviving. Like Richard once said, the real game is in the strategy of how you play the game, everything else is just extraneous. Rupert put too much emphasis on the surviving part and although I respect him for being a great at that, he was a complete moron at playing the game. Rob outwitted everyone and totally had control of that whole island. For that, he deserves to win.

I absolutely agree with you about hard work being a good thing, but if hard work was rewarded in Survivor, Gretchen, and not Richard, would've won the first Survivor.

Rupert, despite being the same worker bee he was the first time around, never strategized beyond getting fourth place - and even admitted that his final 4 alliance wouldn't get him any farther if he didn't win immunity. In this game, you cannot and should not rely on immunity to take you further in the game. The lack of strategy is inexcusable, and that's why Rupert did NOT deserve to win, and that's why I did not vote for him to win the second million.

Of the Choboga Mogo members, there were two people who deserved to win, and ironically they never made jury the first time around.

Shii Ann really had no chance once the Pagonging started, but she went down swinging, and managed to take down (bitter, bitter) Alicia before she did. Unfortunately, she was stuck with a bunch of people who refused to see the forest for the trees.

Boston Rob was not the best strategist, but with the bunch of sheep he was with, he didn't need to be. He was one of the few who came into the game with a plan, and for better or worse, he stuck to it. Yes, he's arrogant and was dishonest, but it shouldn't be a shock to anyone that people lie and decieve on this show. Apparently though, Tom, Alicia and Lex didn't think that way, and really, that's why Rob lost (and Amber, by default, won).

The only thing you need to know to see that Amber didn't deserve to win:

ALICIA: In one word, describe how you played in order to get into the Final 2.

ROB: Competitively.

AMBER: Luck.

Honestly, how could the jury members reward someone who ADMITTED that they got into the Final 2 purely on luck?

This show is starting to get ridiculous, simply because the best players just aren't getting the million dollars in the end. How many times are we going to have the coattail-riding, under-the-radar people win the game? A supposed jury of "All-Stars" and only three of them were able to put their personal feelings aside in order to vote for the best player.....

However, it did make me happy to see Lex, Tom, and Jerri try to give their bullshit "It's not just a game - it's personal" speeches, and get booed as a result from the MSG Crowd. Rich's comparison to playing a simple chess game and not letting your friend win was dead on, as was Shii's "People in glass houses should not throw stones" comment. It's about time that somebody takes away the delusion from Lex and Tom that Rob owed them something because they were friends before - IT. WAS. A. GAME. And if it took a capacity crowd booing Lex's bullshit, then so be it.

Rob's the freaking man.

I hope Thursday serves to reward him more. What's better than 1 million dollars and the girl? two million dollars and the girl.

Rupert is George (from AI)

Nice guys that we root for.

But neither deserved to win

They didn't. They punished Rob by denying him the victory. Amber just happened to benefit from it. It's happened before:

Survivor: Marquesas - Vecepia wins because the Rotu 4 are pissed at Neleh for not knowing her role (which was, according to them, 5th or 6th) in the tribe.

Survivor: Pearl Islands - Sandra wins because Lil shouldn't have been there to begin with.

I'm still debating whether Amber is worse than Sandra as far as winners go...

I'd say Sandra is worse. At least Amber had the good sense to attatch herself to a player whom she knew could take her far. All Sandra did was sit around and bitch about Johnny Fairplay (whom to this day is still the best player to never win the game).

Rob C > Johnny Fairplay. John could not have won over the jury. Rob would have, despite backstabbing everybody. Jenna voted out Rob because she knew she couldn't win against him. Say what you will about Amazon being a bad season (and it was), but at least the jury respected game-playing ability.

Anyways, after all of this. Without a doubt, Richard Hatch is the best player to ever play the game. Brian takes the #2 spot by a wide margin.

And what is with all the people defending this season by saying Rob deserved to win. Of course he did! But he didn't win. That's the problem. Besides the show sucking because of the stupidity of the other players. Defending Rob is just shovelling more dirt on the corpse of this season, because the point remains that he didn't win. Just like Neleh got screwed in Marquesas, the worst show prior to this one.

I think Fairplay could've won over the jury if he were put up against Lil, but it would be a tough sell.

Fairplay would have beat Lil in a jury vote 4-3. Sandra would have voted for Jon because she would have been PISSED at Lil for voting her off. Along with Cesterino and maybe Hatch from season 1, Fairplay had one of the best played games of Survivor in the history of the show. Mariano was pretty damn good this year, too - just dominating in the challenges.

Don't forget that Lil was an Outcast - and, in nearly everybody's mind, there was no reason for her to even be there.

Lil would have NEVER won Survivor last season, regardless of who she was put against in the Final 2.

Fair enough. This season, the challenges were cool because of the deja vu factor, but the stupid, stupid rat creatures... er, players meant a lot of time being more annoyed than entertained.

And don't think that Lil didn't know that. Lil was essentially an 8th jury member, but one who decided whether you got $1,000,000 or $75,000. The only way she had a chance to win was if she went heads up with her fellow Outcast, Burton - and that's not a guarantee that she'd win, either.

What gives with Jenna voting for Rupert? How does that make any sense whatsoever? She could have just told Rob and Amber that she would vote for Rupert, then actually vote for Rob. Then Rob and Amber would have voted for Rupert thinking they'd get him out in a 3-1 voting, and it would be a 2-2 tie between Rupert and Rob. Then at least that gives a chance of Rupert staying with the purple rock thing, and would have guaranteed Jenna her top 3 spot anyways, with a better chance of making the final 2 because Rupert would have taken her if he had the choice. I just don't get it...

Not exactly. The deal with the purple rocks is that Rob, Rupert, AND Jenna would have all had to draw rocks, which means that Jenna, without anyone casting a vote for her, could have been eliminated and she didn't want to risk that.

Which is exactly what happened to Paschal in the Marquesas. Unless Mike Skupin was never voted against, Paschal is the only player to never have his name written down at Tribal Council.

Of course, he ended up collapsing from malnutrition the next day, so when you think about it it wasn't exactly a BAD thing that the purple rock had spoken...
