Guest Trivia247 Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 Thanks to Chris Rohner for sending in the following: I was just listening to CJay 92 (92.1FM) in Calgary, Alberta and they said something interesting about the April 19th WWE RAW that will take place here. The wrestlers they mentioned headlining the event were Triple H, Chris Benoit and ...Goldberg. So, take note that Goldberg may be returning this April either at Backlash or the following RAW and whether or not that will actually happen, we'll all have to wait and see. Or....... The Great North West is Slow to recieving the news that the Golden Piece o Shit doesn't want to dirty his hands anymore with the WWE.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 or its just a lame April Fools joke?
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 I'd say that it was just a mistake.
Use Your Illusion Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 I also heard that Vince was negotiating a contract with Goldberg that involves him working fewer dates. Time will tell. UYI
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 Yeah, I've heard that too. And the fucked thing is that Goldberg will still probably being paid what he was in WWE previously, unless Vince has come to his senses, which he obviously hasn't if he's negotiating with him. Have you all noticed how much better things have been since he's been gone?
Use Your Illusion Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 I always thought RAW was great when Goldberg was on. UYI
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 I always thought RAW was great when Goldberg was on. UYI Well, yes, I'll admit that it was.

SamoaRowe Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 So basically, to have Goldberg come and go as he pleases will do nothing but turn more fans against him. He'll show up and expect to be cheered for, but I somehow doubt the WWE will actually give the fans a reason to care about him.

Exactly - Goldberg's nothing but an empty shirt who's only in it because he couldn't cut it in Football, and thinks that it's a good gig because of the paycheque. Fuck him.
EdwardKnoxII Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 I too thought RAW was great when Goldberg was on and he made care about the World belt when he held it which, at the time, I hadn't care about in awhile. He defended the belt weekly and put up with WWE's shitty booking of him.

They can advertise anyone within reason and it's OK. I've been checking out the websites of some of the sports arenas the WWE hits. Whenever they advertise a show, they don't have a clue of what matches will take place - they just list all the top names on the respected brand with "card subject to change" at the bottom.
Tawren Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 CJay is full of idiots. Don't believe anything they say.
Mole Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 Most of Canada's fans are smart; they know that Goldberg isn't coming back.
AndrewTS Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 Also, it isn't like Canadian fans love Goldberg and would be persuaded to go to a show to see him. *imagines a Raw with Goldberg vs. Kane. Loud "Goldberg sucks" chants, Kane gets face pops any time he decks Goldberg, loud booing when Goldberg punches Kane.* JR: A mixed reaction here from this Canadian crowd...
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 This goes under the same category as an arena claming a WCW Show was happening sometime last year. Just a fuck up.
Guest wrestlingbs Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 The only way Goldberg could return would be as a heel. But knowing Goldberg, that won't happen.

Goldberg has stated on what seems hundreds of occasions that he is in wrestling for two things: money and charity work. Goldberg loves visiting sick kids who happen to be his fans and trying to make their lives easier. He also donates a fair share of cash to charity every year. Be sure to educate your opinion next time you decide to lash out at someone. UYI

Jobber of the Week Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 I too thought RAW was great when Goldberg was on and he made care about the World belt How? By squashing people? Cause that's what he did. And that's what HHH did, too. It was no different, just a face after so much heel.
Jobber of the Week Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 Be sure to educate your opinion next time you decide to lash out at someone. UYI While that's nice, the amount of money he demands is insane. If he made as much as any other upper guy, or even a constant main eventer like Undertaker, and made the sacrifice to give to charity, I'd appreciate that. But he asks for about that much money plus 50+ percent more. Voluntarily giving money is nice, but he makes sure to balance it out by having a reputation for digging deeper into the boss' pockets than anyone else there.

Yes, but while it would be inevitable, he still wouldn't deserve it - he has no passion for his work, has no talent in the ring, and demands twice what other WWE upper-carders make - it's insane.

His demands are quite unrealistic, I never denied that. It's just that Goldberg isn't the asshole people make him out to be, that's all. UYI

UYI I never once pinned Goldberg as being an asshole of a person - in this business, whether you're an asshole as a person or not, while you'll cop flack, and lots of it, it's not exactly a top priority in making money and putting on an entertaining show. I hate Goldberg because of his lack of passion for what is a dream job for millions, lack of in-ring ability, lack of training, not working a lot of live shows (including the Ruthless Aggression Tour) and wanting to be paid extra for it. That's why I hate Goldberg.
Use Your Illusion Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 Calm down, I didn't accuse you of anything. I was just making a general statement. Don't take everything here so personally, or you'll be eaten alive. UYI
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 Thanks for the tip. But I wasn't. I was just making sure that you knew my stand-point.
EdwardKnoxII Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 I too thought RAW was great when Goldberg was on and he made care about the World belt How? By squashing people? Cause that's what he did. And that's what HHH did, too. It was no different, just a face after so much heel. No by going out every week and defending the belt. And I don't recall him squashing alot of people. I recall him getting booked like shit cause he was made to look like crap in a match with Mark Henry of all people that went longer then it should. And he lost a 3 way match to a guy that wasn't there to the build up to it and no one cared about but, still walked away with the belt.

Goldberg was treated like royalty by WWE - had had four months of being built-up, with fairly small feuds with both The Rock and Chris Jericho, to name a couple. And then he was obviously thrown into the World Heavyweight Championship division. Guys were fed to him left and right. But did he appreciate any of it?
