Best and Worst Treatment of Title Belts?

Recommended Posts

I think the titles should be worn over the shoulder during promo's and such. Especially if the wrestler with the belt is wearing dress clothes. During an entrance for a match however, it should always be around the waist, assuming that it fits. After the match, the ref should put the belt on the winner. If a wrestler with a title has a manager, it would be ok for the manager to hold the belt up behind the wrestler while walking behind him...unless it fit on their waist.

I also like managers holding the belt over their shoulder while their charge wrestled, much like Paul Bearer and Paul Heyman would do.

And Chyna too!

Jericho holds the belts pretty good.

You won't see any more pics like that in the future.

WWE Apologist: Because that belt is gone! I'm sick of all you people thinking that the WWE is out to get Chris Jericho! Look at all the big matches he was in (jobbed in) last year! I've had enough of these conspiracy theories!

I forgot to include :P for my joke thing.

But still, there's a faint hope.

I mean...how many people actually truly thought one year ago that we'd be, today, in a company where the top two champions are Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero.

Sure, they may not be always pushed they way they should be, but the fact still remains that they're the champs.

No

And again Anglesault blantently ignores what I type below what he quotes, negating everything I typed there, to prove my point.

Whatever. In all things, there's a faint hope.

A very faint hope. Jericho's the #5 face right now on Raw (behind Benoit, Micheals, Edge, Benjamin as of last week). Not looking too good.

True.

But if the 5 Test fans that I know (scary that I know THAT many) can have a faint hope of World/WWE Champion Test, people can have a faint hope of Jericho someday being a top champion again.

I liked when Jericho would drape the two belts over his shoulders.

It just worked so well with his entrance and fit his character completely.

Only if it's a nontitle match.

I remember during Big Show's first reign, he tried to wear the belt around his waist and was coming to the ring for a title match against Kane on RAW, and the belt just snapped off his waist halfway down the ramp. I laughed my ass off so hard at that.

It did look pretty good. Very arrogant...I loved it.

It was also a cool site at his entrance with both belts.

The idea of Kane posing at a photo shoot is enough to take the belt off of him.

I dunno....

Better than his "Brother's" first picture with the title:

I think that pic is pretty swank actually.

I think with the WCW/WWF titles as well as the WCW Cruiser and TV titles, he wore them "stacked" (one around his waist, one around his belly).

Some one Chris and I know had an female e-fed character put two belts on a duster, as well.

Jericho did look great with two belts, however I'm reminded of the WCW days. When he was holding the Cruiser belt, his character really, really valued it. He would wear it around his waist and refuse to take it off, sometimes wrestling a few minutes while wearing it.

Heh, I seem to recall him wearing one of the tag belts like an armband.

Like Goldberg or hate him, the WCW belt fit around his waist real well.

Hardcore title, that is.

As for the Big Show, when he wore the title during that first reign, I always thought that it looked good m'self.

I liked How Raven stuck it on the front of the Cart.

Number four face. Michaels is due to turn heel, especially now that they're teasing a Benoit alliance. And we have no idea where they're headed with Benjamin.

With DDP it worked cause he was such an unlikely champion. I didn't come off as disrespect for some reason

He was the first guy to come to mind for me, as yes, he did look utterly ridiculous.

Also, Kurt Angle did that with the European and Intercontinental titles during his brief reign as Euro-Continental Champion in early 2000.

I tried to find a photo of Kurt wearing the stacked belts, but all I could find were these priceless pics of him with the 2 titles separately:

He also looks much smaller back then.

Not that I'm insinuating anything of course....

I don't mind the title belts on the shoulder if its like during an interview or something, but when they come to the ring with it still on their shoulder, yeah that's a pet peeve of mine. I didn't mind Big Show doing it since well the title couldn't go around his waist literally.

I gotta say that Ahemd's gold strapped IC title. WWE didn't change the strap of the belt after he beat Golddust for it. I found that odd but yet funny in a sense.
