EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 Why am I trapped in a bizzaro world where Jose Mesa and Armando Benitez get effortless saves? Phillies are 1-4. Its easy to make too much out of the first week, but man this is depressing.
Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted April 11, 2004 well to be honest the Phillies batting order is pretty screwey. You want your best pure hitter in the 3 hole and your power guy in the 4 hole followed up by your pure power less than great contact at 5th. Thus the Phillies line-up should be  CF Glanville 2B Polanco LF Burrell RF Abreu 1B Thome C Lieberthal 3B Bell SS Rollins Pitcher's Spot  and Manny with the solo dinger~ 4-1 Red Sox
Guest OctoberBlood Report post Posted April 11, 2004 Whats wrong with the Reds television broadcast team. George Grande was one of the original hosts of sportscenter and is a well respected broadcaster and baseball man. MLB thinks so, out of all of the potential broadcasters they picked him to host the Hall of Fame ceremony each year. Chris Welch is a good color guy, they show excitement, and will call a bad play a bad play, even if it is the reds. I think they're fine. I certainly don't hate them, and I enjoy listening to them, but they seem to say alot of obvious and sometimes dumb things. But, yes - they show alot of excitement and thats a good thing. I don't even think Bruiser has even heard them anywho.

Fuzzy Dunlop 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 Truly disgusting loss by The Cubs tonight. So far the Astros, Cardinals, Cubs, Yankees, Phillies, and Red Sox are vastly underperforming. Am I forgetting anyone?

I don't think batting order matters terribly. The problem is that Byrd, Abreu, and Mike Lieberthal have started off on bad slumps. I think the team will rebound, but its tough going. The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 You know as soon as HSC was traded to the Marlins I said "I bet that guy is going to stop being such a disappointment" and bam! Â Meh. I figured the Cubs would lose with Mitre today...Wood is up tomorrow though so thinks are looking a little better. Â And hey, the Expos won!
Bored 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 STOP THE PRESSES...Barry Bonds walks. I know my life wouldn't have been complete without seeing it. I'm sure we'll have a 15 minute anlaysis of the walk on SportsCenter.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted April 11, 2004 No, they humiliated the state of New York and disgraced Yankee tradition. God must have been busy. Well, yeah, but Pettitte's on the DL now. You got half your wish.  Doesn't that ease the pain a little? That's what he was busy doing. Remember when Mr. Cashman and Mr. Steinbrenner were EVIL~! for asking Pettitte to get his elbow checked before being offered a contract?
Fuzzy Dunlop 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 I also expected to be blown out tonight, which just made it so much more depressing knowing we had a chance and still finding a way to lose. Oh well, 157 games left, and I'll be there Thursday.

Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 I don't even think Bruiser has even heard them anywho. Â Care to explain why I'd even comment on them if I hadn't heard them? I've never made a habit of forming an opinion on something I hadn't been able to evaluate myself, so that makes absolutely no sense.
sfaJack 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 That's what he was busy doing. Remember when Mr. Cashman and Mr. Steinbrenner were EVIL~! for asking Pettitte to get his elbow checked before being offered a contract? Actually, I don't remember that. All I ever heard was the "lack of respect" being paid to Pettitte by the Boss and Cashman in their dragging their feet to get a contract offer on the table. That was the spin on it here, anyway. King Kamala 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 I love this year's Royals. They may be my designated 2nd favorite team for the year. Last two years the Designated 2nd favorite team was The Montreal Expos, but it looks like they're going to win jack and shit this year. I love the Royals this year, everyone is either slightly past their prime or just hitting it. A solid balance of veteran leadership and young guys. I know it's early but I think they could make a run in the playoffs.

Jackass Andy never had any intentions of staying here. Â He knew exactly what he was going to do, and counted on pig headed George's actions to make him look like a victim. Â They could have offered him the fucking deed to the Stadium and he would have left.

Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 Bad base-running from the Cubs, who just ran themselves out what could've been a more productive inning. Hopefully that doesn't come back into play before the game's over.
