Jeter reminds me of a cross between the Rock and a monkey.

I have FOUND A FLAW~!

According to this system, Weaver's NY run was really good, at nearly a 3-1 K to BB ratio (150-62)

Hey since snap judgments are all the rage on this board, here are the playoff match-ups if the season ended today!

American League

Minnesota at Oakland

Baltimore at Chicago

National League

Cincinnati at Los Angeles

Florida at Houston

Got pennant fever yet?

LA will win their division. It's all a matter of great pitching and timely hitting.

All that indicates was that Weaver's poor performance was due to hits allowed. I.E. Derek Jeter sucks.

Who is playing short for LA? He must be brutal. Weaver is giving up 9 hits a start, for a grand total of 26 hits in 15.2 innings

Cesar Izturis, even though it should be Jose Hernandez. Izturis is a gold glove defender.

Ah, great game today. Juan Castro the hero again. Dunn's gonna hit 45 to 50 HR. Mark it down.

THANK YOU CHAMBLISS.

Very aware of that. :)

Probally the most important move the Reds made this off season.

"This week in baseball" thread is a good idea......keep it fresh by doing it weekly.

So onto the A's: They win the series against the Angels, and have won every series so far. Jermaine Dye has hit safely in all games, and Rookie Bobby Crosby so far is living up to the hype as a fielder and coming around with the bat. 8-4.

It's not a Yankee-Sox game unless the Sox start hitting the Yankees.

A-Rod helped end Mr. Glass' chances for a win by throwing the ball into RF and allowing the tying run to come across. Now in the bottom of the 8th Matsui just plain lost one in LF and danced around it allowing David McCarty to go to second.

Edit: Gabe Kapler with an RBI single to knock in McCarty! 5-4 Red Sox in the bottom of the 8th

The tying run was scoring regardless, but A-Rod was Ungodly useless again today.

They could trade him to the Dodgers for perenial slugger Jose Hernandez

13 games in and A-Rod is still not hitting?! Blashphemy.

Worst he's ever been by over 100 BA points.

Unless someone else is posing as A-Rod, he'll come around. Relax.

No, I won't relax. The Yankees are embarassing themselves and their fans on a daily basis. They can't be bothered to be a token challenge to a shorthanded Red Sox team.

If and when Boston wins this division, we'll all look at the "meaningless" April series where the Yankees forgot to show up as one of the key reasons.

I'd just like to point out that Clement is nearing 100 pitches and we're heading into the seventh. Since he just hit for himself, you'd figure he'd be left in for that inning, but hopefully, if he stumbles in the least, they'll pull the hook, as they can ill-afford another incident like Saturday. Speaking of Clement, if that first inning hadn't been that way, this would be an excellent outing for him, but it could've been much worse. He's been in the zone since then, but one has to wonder how much longer he'll keep it up now that the pitch count is really becoming a factor.

Clement stumbles in the seventh, Baker wisely pulls him and Farns gets them out of the inning with no damage done. And Lee finally gets his first home HR as a Cub with a grand slam off of Wagner, who's looking like the complete opposite of how he pitched against the Cubs opening day.

Cubs are lucky they got the Lee GS, since they ended up loading them up again with no one out and didn't get anything out of it. Still, barring some horrible Reds comeback, it looks like we'll be splitting this series.

lets not forget, when the Yankees aquired Giambi, he was probably in the Top 3 in the league overall, if not that, then definately Top 5.....and it took his ass 2 full years to start putting up numbers like he did in Oakland. I wouldn't expect A-rod to take that long to adjust, but hey, ya never know.
