So, does anyone care about the Raw brand PPV coming up? Unless something happens on Sunday Night Heat, this appears to be the final card:

WWE Women's Championship

Victoria © Vs. Lita

Tajiri Vs. The Coach

Ric Flair Vs. Shelton Benjamin

Christian & Trish Stratus Vs. Chris Jericho

Edge Vs. Kane

Intercontinental Championship

Hardcore Rules/Evolution Banned from Ringside

Randy Orton © Vs. Mick Foley

WWE Championship

Chris Benoit © Vs. Triple H Vs. Shawn Michaels

So, that being said, what about this card makes it worth ordering? What's the selling point? We get to see if Benoit can keep his title? We get to see Edge return to the ring? We get to see Jericho get his hands on Trish? We get to see Foley get his hands on Orton in a Hardcore match?

The women's match is a face against a face for the title. Did I miss something? The Coach, the mother-fucking Coach is on the PPV wrestling. Where's Val Venis, Matt Hardy, Lance Storm, the Hurricane or countless other wrestlers? Tajiri comes over from Smackdown and his first PPV is against the Coach!? Why Flair against Benjamin? Is anyone else tired of Benjamin yet? Why is Flair still wrestling? Since he is still wrestling, and he's one half of the current tag team champions, why is he in a singles match? Edge Vs. Kane will be bad. Edge will have ring rust. He's got a lot bigger. He has a cast on one of his arms. Kane's best match is what, three stars? It won't be pretty.

So, will the main event deliver again? Will Foley/Orton be any good? How many spots will Victoria & Lita blow? Will the Handicap Match be any good? I'm assuming that Trish will get put into the Walls of Jericho but Christian will still win the match. Will The Coach last longer than two minutes? Will Flair/Benjamin be any good?

It just seems like Backlash isn't anything on paper, but it could turn out OK on screen. $35 dollars worth of OK? Most likely not...but I'll see it for free, so I'm not worried about that.

I'm actually excited about a RAW PPV for once as the last three were pretty much complete shit (Basically, just one match PPVs). Except for the Tajiri / Coach, everything else on the card looks pretty good although Victoria's got her work cut out for her. And Edge / Kane could be decent although I predict Edge loses by getting caught using the cast to get suspended (which would make sense due to his hand injury, give him a lilttle more time to recupurate from that one).

Wow, WWE pushes someone new, who can wrestle, and has a good look, and he's "stale". God damn, doesn't anything make smarks happy?

And I was talking about Shelton Benjamin.

I'm looking forward to:

The Main Event - Chris Benoit retains.

Foley/Orton - Orton goes over.

Flair/Benjamin - Benjamin goes over, but not traditionally.

I'm pending on:

Edge/Kane - Edge wins as a result of the Undertaker.

Victoria/Lita - Could be an absolute train wreck.

Fuck the rest - and that includes matches made on Heat.

Why Flair against Benjamin? Is anyone else tired of Benjamin yet?

Flair's fighting Benjamin because they have been on the opposite side of a feud for 3 weeks now. And complaining Benjamin is stale after what is a 3 week mini push is beyond ridiculous. Whine Whine Whine....

They've given us a decent card that makes sense, they've pushed it well, and there are some fresh matchups. Nitpicking it to death seems a waste of time to me.

Yes, I agree with niko - but we should've known that it couldn't be a perfect card.

Oh well, I'm looking forward to Backlash, and if you're not, then that's your problem.

It seems to be shaping up as a decent PPV to me. Not great by any means, but decent. The ME should hit ***1/2+, and will hopefully get some great crowd heat.

Both Orton/Foley and Y2J/Christian/Trish have had excellent (IMO) build ups and should both be able to hit **1/2 - ***1/2, providing Trish is kept in the ring for a minimal amount of time.

Flair/Benjamin & Edge/Kane don't grab my attention, but both have the potential to at least be fairly watchable.

Tajiri/Coach...I'm all for Tajiri on a PPV, but Coach? How about Tajiri/Hardy? Tajiri/Storm? Tajiri/Hurricane? This better be short.

Victoria revealing plenty of her ass is my only hope for the women's match.

So that's 3 good matches, 2 OK ones and 2 that will probably be awful. It's probably going to be streaks better than Judgement Day.

I'm not sure on whether or not I'm actually going to order, but it looks good enough for me, although I'd much rather see Benoit vs. HBK in a singles match. The only bad matches I see are Tajiri vs. Coach and Victoria vs. Lita. I don't think Benjamin is stale at all, and his match with Flair is what I'm probably looking forward to most. The show looks much better than any past Raw PPVs, though.

I'll be ordering to see Benoit retain his title. I am also looking foward to hearing Michaels get booed. I love the WM main event because the crowd turned on Michaels again and that always brings a smile to my face. I can't wait to hear the Edmanton crowd to call for his blood.

I just think they are trying to push Benjamin too hard. I feel that he can be a future main eventer, but he doesn't have to be shoved down our throats with blinding speed. He got a couple of upsets over Triple H. That's great. The first one was really entertaining. The second one wasn't. It was a countout victory, which really doesn't mean anything. So, now after two "big" wins, his first PPV match is with Ric Flair, and it doesn't prove anything. Flair has lost to Rico.

Benjamin needs to be shooting for gold. I assume that's what the plan is, but Orton is tied up with Foley for the time being. If after Backlash Benjamin goes after Orton and his IC title, then I'll be happy. It appears as if that's what they're leading into. The problem is, it seems like it's been done all wrong to get to that point.

It was a countout victory, which really doesn't mean anything.

It means that he outsmarted HHH, who is 'The Game', after all. It means that his first victory wasn't a fluke like HHH said. It means he was able to hang in the ring with one of the most dominantly booked guys of the past couple of years. Most importantly, it's better than the match ending with Trips Pedigreeing Benjamins face into the mat.

His first PPV match is with Ric Flair, and it doesn't prove anything. Flair has lost to Rico.

That isn't what most marks think of when they think Flair, I can assure you. Flair is still able to ride on name value to a large extent, and despite his age is still seen as a credible threat due to 'knowing his way around a ring' and being 'the dirtiest player in the game'. Giving Benjamin a mid-card match against a mid-card opponent with upper-card connections is fine for him right now.

There's only 7 matches so far.

What do you think will be added to the card on Heat?

I'm thinking that they're going to give the three-way a lot of time.

Plus I think Foley v. Orton will be quite the long match (15-20+) as well.

Benjamin is working his way up the ladder. Flair is obviously the lowest rung of Evolution right now, but can still give the rub with a clean loss to someone that matters.

Next, Batista on maybe a big RAW or something, then vs. Orton at Bad blood for the Intercontinental Title. If he DOES get hot shot into the ME scene, then SSeries the earliest. Summerslam is the 2nd biggest PPV ever, and I'm still pissed Brock Lesnar got pushed to the main event in 4 months. So WWE should build up Benjamin for a little while.

I don't think it means he outsmarted Triple H at all. I think it looks more like Evolution let Triple H down. Afterall, any one of the three could've rolled him back into the ring. Benjamins first victory OBVIOUSLY was a fluke. He won with a school boy after a distraction. That's a fluke. He was able to hang in the ring? He got decimated, then hit a random slingshot and won by countout. Then he was left in a pool of his own blood and taken to a hospital.

I still don't agree with the Flair match at the PPV. Flair shouldn't be wrestling anymore, and Benjamin won't gain anything from beating him. He's already beaten Triple H twice...flukes or not. What will beating Ric Flair prove? He beat one of the top singles competitors, now he's going to face an over the hill tag team wrestler?

No, Benjamin isn't working his way up the ladder. That's my problem. He's working his way up Evolution, but he's already beaten their leader twice. It doesn't make any sense. It would make more sense if he was seen as an Intercontinental contender because he beat Triple H twice. Seeing as how Triple H would be a highly ranked opponent, that would bounce Benjamin up a few rungs. Since Flair is one half of the tag team champions, he shouldn't be an option as a singles opponent, nor should Bastista. That leaves Shelton to feud with someone whom would be a high ranked contender for the Intercontinental title. Orton will be defending it against Foley at the PPV...but Shelton could be fighting for the Number One contendership for whomever wins that match. It would make more sense.

Someone big will interfere on Coach's behalf and squash Tajiri. Probably Mark Henry or someone. Don't know what happened to him.

Flair/Benjamin will be decent and Benjamin will go over clean.

The main event will not be able to recapture the magic from Wrestlemania.

Backlash looks very nice, not a BUY (nothing is for me) but I will enjoy this match at the bar splendidly...

The Triple Threat was Magnificant last month but I'm curious at since Benoit already WON the title...will the match have the same emotional climate WMXX had? It should be a VERY VERY HOT MATCH and another likely **** match.

The Falls Count Anywhere Match could either be REALLY sick as Foley's been gone for 4 years(from in ring action) and he's REALLY been working on this angle...dropping 80 pounds, something tells me Foley will be BRINGING it this sunday, who knows what sick demented plans he has concoted sitting at home writing children's books. Should be a good 20 minute intense brawl. Hopefully Orton will be able to keep up.

Flair/Benjamin. I expect a nice formula 12 minute match that will keep the crowd hot and Benjamin will get the win.

Jericho Vs Tristian should be entertaining if nothing else. Crowd should be hot for this as well.

Tajiri/Coach...Of all the fucking people on the roster they put COACH on the show. we'll get 4 minutes of Tajiri killing Coach but Nitro screwing Tajiri to set up that likely "feud".

Victoria/Lita. Every card needs a piss break.

Kane Vs Edge...Still don't see WHY this match is even occuring other then the fact edge speared Bischoff and Kane was sent to attack.

Edge has been having this Brian Pillman Vibe lately with his look as he really beefed up and facially it's nearly identical. Not sure what that means, but the last promo on Raw wasn't the usual "DORKUS MAXIMUS" style promo he usually cut before he left...Had a strong vindicative "edge" to it. Not sure what kind of Match it will be...could be a nice little match or a clusterfuck. Edge likely goes over here as WWE has CLEARLY given up on Kane.

They probably just want to be able to hype it as Edge's return match. But here's the issue: Edge needs the win to make his return look strong... but so does Kane after the Wrestlemania squash against Taker, who hasn't even wrestled on TV since. Screwjob finish probably.

if they wanted to HYPE his return match...should have had it against Rhyno and just did the whole "Rhyno was the one who attacked me" angle...as it was never revealed and since Edge WAS replaced by Rhyno as Benoit's partner...it's perfectly logical to buy.

I don't think it means he outsmarted Triple H at all.

He was smart enough to take advantage of the situation, stun HHH on the outside, and leave him there to take the countout victory. It's the sort of thinking Trips would be proud of.

Benjamins first victory OBVIOUSLY was a fluke. He won with a school boy after a distraction. That's a fluke.

Well, yes. But the way HHH was speaking implied that he would clearly win any rematch. Which he didn't.

He was able to hang in the ring? He got decimated, then hit a random slingshot and won by countout. Then he was left in a pool of his own blood and taken to a hospital.

That's an exaggeration. Decimated? He was losing, but it was pretty far off a squash. And he was only left in a pool of blood after a 4 on 1 beatdown.

I still don't agree with the Flair match at the PPV. Flair shouldn't be wrestling anymore, and Benjamin won't gain anything from beating him. He's already beaten Triple H twice...flukes or not. Flair is a big name, old as he is, and is still sold as a 'ring technician'. A win (on PPV especially) does mean something - especially to the marks. And it makes sense as Flair and Trips are in a stable together. I wouldn't mind a #1 contenders match for the IC title, but it would seem odd if there's no #1 contenders match for the World Title.

Nope...It was NEVER planned. It was just Meltz and his hard-on for Ladder Matches.

He reminds me of the Party from 1984. He says something, and if it turns out to be wrong, he will go back to the past news and correct it, proving everyone that he was right all along.

Question: Have they played up the fact the show is a home coming for Benoit on TV at all?

Despite being announced from Atlanta, Georgia, Jim Ross might have mentioned it on RAW.
