Tattoos

Recommended Posts

double edit: The Japanese don't like kanji tattoos either. They like them in English. Just for the record.

Meh, the ten symbol would really have to special significane, I just think it looks badass. Go with the whole "Raging Demon" thingy.

I guess.

I was thinking of getting a barcode tattooed on my left bicep, but at the bottom, where the numbers are, instead of numbers, it'll say "Human"....just a thought.

I could tell Metalheads that it's a reference to the Iron Maiden song "The Prisoner" or something. What do you guys think? Specifically IDRM, for some reason I seek his approval.

Well, that's not bad. I might encode the human part somehow, but you know, that's just my opinion. And make it to where if you actually scanned it, it would

read it as a number with some meaning. That's cool.

Since you want my opinion, allow me to make a suggestion or two. I've thought about the barcode thing (I'm rather into this, and I've considered many, many things), and if it was me, I think the best place for it would be the back of your arm, just above the elbow, or on the inside forearm just under the elbow. But if you did that, it would look best with another in the same place on the other arm. Barcodes are good for coordinating tats because they look the same but can be altered easily by whatever you put under them.

If you go for the bicep, I'd suggest that if you want a realistic, fairly small barcode, place it fairly high up near the shoulder, a I'd put a bigger or more stylized one more centered.

Yeah, I see what you mean. Since Kanji got so popular, that's really the main concern, if you're happy with something so many other people have. I don't share the opinion that it's somehow worse if you aren't Japanese, cause as I said, the Japanese don't really get them, they like them to be in English. So it's the same in both cultures.

There's some website I found a while back that has you put in information about yourself and it turns the data into a barcode. It asked for your name, your height, weight, age, all that kinda stuff, then spit out a barcode that was (supposedly) scannable. I'm thinking I might do something like that.

No ink here. After much prodding from my tatooed friends I decided that the only one I would get would the Red Sox "B" simbol that's in my sig (well it would have been navy blue, hollow B) on my left calf. Then with in a week three of my friends had gotten that tatoo (sort of, two of them got it on their forearms with blood dripping from it and the other got it on his leg with soem other stuff that was so poorly done that I can't figure out what it is. Either way, tatoos are passe. Just like a guy getting his ear pierced (which I also never did), it is old news and lame. Leave tatties for hhe fat girls to get on their backs and then wear shirts short enough to show off the back fat and go on with your life.

If tattoos being passe would stop you from getting them, you shouldn't have in the first place, so that's good.

I never did get a tatoo. I don't think I said that since three of my friends got a similar tatty to what I wanted, I opted out.

This was also like three or 4 years ago when I 18 or 19 and the thought of permentately scaring myself somewhat intrigued me. The thought passed.

Tatoos are passe. Too many people have them to make you different for having one and most of themjust look stupid and people tend to over do it. Perry Saturn and Randy Orton are examples of that.

I know you didn't, I was saying it was good that you didn't. Because it seems like you wouldn't want one due them being passe (which they are), so you wouldn't have been happy with it and are better off.

OK, I thought you were being defensive about tattoos. I am glad I did n;t get and never really seriously considered it. It took me a while to just come up with an idea that I didn't thik I would absolutely hate for the rest of my life, just really dislike.

That .sig is way too fucking long.

Yeah, it's like 3 times larger than it's allowed to be. Damn Red Sox fans. (waves Yankees banner proudly) Friday Yanks smoke the Sox again. In other news, George Bush is an idiot. [/no shit mode]

When I get the urge to drive the 20 min to Seattle to get one done I will probably get Venom's logo tattooed around my arm... possibly chest.

You must do the chest, Rant. It would be the coolest.

Speaking of big spiders, ever see the spider Evan Seinfeld has on his back? That's cool. I would never get it because he's a celebrity though. If I steal an idea, I want it to be from someone nobody will recognize.

I'd like to get a backpiece of a bunch of stately philosophers in togas and laurels holding 40's.

Wow... I didn't know Rant was in Everett. I used to live up in Mill Creek, like 5 minutes away.

I find people in their early twenties calling centuries old practices passe funny.

Getting meaningless shit on your body is passe.

Don't put down tattooing because your generation fucked it up.

Doing anything for fashion is pathetic, but when people do it and it means something, that is pretty damn sweet.

I wish I were of some kind of south pacific island descent, then I could get those wildly elaborate traditional jobs and have it be fashionable.

Yeah, it'd commemorate the long standing friendship between Fiji and Scandinavia.

I have two tattoo's. I have one on my left shoulder blade which is a ying/yang with black and yellow flames and I have a red and black design across my lower back.

I'm going to get my late step-brothers name tattoed on me somewhere (he died last year of Leukemia) but I haven't decided where I am going to have it.
