Guest Banders Kennany Report post Posted April 19, 2004 I was reading the reviews for Backlash and it doesn't seem like Coach/Tajiri was the comedy squash we all figured it would be! Coach's in ring time thus far has been taking weak shots from JR and King and taking shit bumps, and now he has a competitive match wtih Tajiri? I think Coach is a a good heel, but the way this match seemed to happen is like Coach is training. Are they actually trying to make him transition from announcer to legit superstar? I hope not that.....would be the pits. Also it would hurt the cred of the faces he battles since they're getting the pulp pounded out of them by someone who JR fucked up. Oh that will do wonders for the midcard. What do you all think of this? For any that saw the match.....how competent did Coach look? Enough to make you think he wasn't an announcer? Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted April 19, 2004 From what I saw, he was hitting like a girl and attacked Tajiris leg. He took a NASTY basement dropkick that had his face bounce off of the bottom turnbuckle though. Tajiri was pretty much in the drivers seat until Cade knocked him out...or something. And Coach will never be confused as a wrestler....yet. I expected a lot worse.
Guest Jimbo Report post Posted April 19, 2004 Y'know what's sad? Coach showed more skill than Benjamin did.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted April 19, 2004 Y'know what's sad? Coach showed more skill than Benjamin did. Well Ric Flair controlling most of the match and regulating S.B. to chops and more chops, can't argue that. Flair's bumps were a little sloppy for the spinning heel kick and the flying clothesline too. Tsk Tsk.

Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted April 19, 2004 I would've much rathered comedy than them attempting to pass the Coach off as a wrestler. But hey, at least Lance Cade's being pushed. Or so it seems.
PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2004 'Lance' Cade and Coach fused together as one entity would not be fit to lick the shit from tajiri's boots. I wouldn't mind if he became like, a 'manager-wrestler' but the going over Tajiri thing is the main problem I have with this. I mean, if some new star came in and killed Tajiri with his deadly new finisher, then ok, but this is horrific.

To be fair, that is his name. Although, I have seen JR call him "Lance" even in one of WWE's publications. You'd think someone would edit that.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2004 The only thing the Coach/Tajiri match did was make burying Tajiri down to Raw's undercard easier. Not like he was going to be anywhere else anyway, unfortunately, but seriously, if WWE had any intention on making Taijiri look good, he would have walked down to the ring, Kicked coach across the kisser one time, knocked him out, and pinned him. The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2004 well if the point is to start up a Tajiri/Cade feud... then whatever... but Tajiri has to go over and then go on to do something meaningful...but let's review... Tajiri - ECW created Cade - WWE created The outcome seems to be a foregone conclusion. I am only for the push of Cade if it leads to him being called "Cade In The USA" so that come Summerslam there can be a battle of former tag partners and Luger gimmicks so collosal that reality will implode on itself. Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted April 19, 2004 the Coach showed your basic wrestler improvement... Some nice combos here and there and some ring psychology on the leg. he maybe no one near being considered a legit wrestler yet but he is LEAPS and BOUNDS improved than his matches with Lawler and JR

Oh, I always thought HBK trained Spanky and London. Because if he did, you'd think they might have gotten a run with the tag belts or something just for being trained by HBK. London, as far as I recall has no connection with Shawn's Training.
