Guest SP-1 Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 It is pretty interesting. The way languages interact and become interpreted is almost always a frustraing and interesting phenomenon. For instance, when Jesus said "blessed are the meek" the word he used originally wasn't so much meek. The word he used is also used to refer to a wild horse that is broken in, contained, that comes under the leadership of another. All the power and force of a wild stallion is still there, but it's under the leadership of its teacher/trainer. The strength of being a man isn't supposed to be destroyed, but focused under the Lordship of Christ.
TheBigSwigg Posted April 24, 2004 Report Posted April 24, 2004 Thank you, SpiderPoet, for being so informed so I don't have to type extremely long messages
MrRant Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 You love your major because you love Christ. It would be kinda odd if you hated him wouldn't it?
Guest SP-1 Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 You love your major because you love Christ. It would be kinda odd if you hated him wouldn't it? Odd indeed. And a sorrowful waste of my life. My love of languages is a pretty big factor too, though.
Use Your Illusion Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 And your major is, specifically?
Guest SP-1 Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 Double major. Bible/Theology and Biblical Languages (Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic). In the end I'm required to be able to translate from the original texts.
