Today I found out that my little $40 CyberHome DVD player can actually play DVDs from all over the world, simply by changing a setting on the DVD player, that I didn't know exists. It has Pal to NTCS, so no worries about the video being all f'd up. It also has a feature where I can record any DVD to a VHS tape now that I also didn't know about.

If any of you want to check your player also, go to the following link and look up your player, they might be able to help you also.

Anyway, so I'm now interested in getting DVDs from other regions. I'm going to buy the R2 version of Swimming With Sharks for the commentary track and the Kevin Spacey profile, and a few others are on my mind. What else would you suggest that I pick up?

What are some wrestling DVDs that are out there on other regions? I remember hearing about some old WWF PPVs coming to DVD in R2, but I can't remember which ones they were.

Sincerely,

...Downhome...

I just got one recently too. I'm mainly interested in the region 2 Robocop set, though I already have the Criterion one. I think there's special editions of American Psycho and Trainspotting I'd be interested in too.

If you dig martial arts and stuff, check out the Hong Kong Legends line of DVDs from the UK.

And there's also those UK exclusive WWE DVDs that have old Royal Rumbles and Wrestlemanias on them.

Buffy season 7, to compliment season 6 which comes out next month.

or, you know, you could get the DVD's you owe ME (grumbles...)

Or, like it was stated above, Robocop or Predator. I beleive both of those had excellent Region 2 releases to counter the crap Region 1 releases.

If you want some good advice, PM Jay Spree. He has the advantage of, you know, LIVING in the Region 2 area (and has good taste to boot.)

Raging Bull:2-Disc Special Edition. The Region 1 DVD is empty without extras, but this one certainly has a lot. Plus, it's a great movie.

Battle Royale, definitely.

Take a look at the sequel, as well.

Silvervision.co.uk has those old Wrestlemania and Royal Rumble DVDs, they're up to WM3-4 (duoble DVD, I believe), and now they're also offering the first two King of The Ring PPVs on a double DVD set.

What else do you like? If you're into anime or japanese monster movies or the like there are tons of stuff you could try to get your hands on.
