MarvinisaLunatic Posted April 21, 2004 Report Posted April 21, 2004 Theres 6 new shows and only 2 (YES, just TWO) of them are Reality shows. The 2 reality shows "The Simple Life 2" X "Casino" which is about a Las Vegas Hotel X The other 4 non reality shows: "Quintuplets" - Andy Richter is the father of 15-year-old quintuplets. X "Method & Red" rappers Method Man and Redman live in a gated community. X "North Shore" young workers at a luxury hotel in Hawaii. X "The Jury" Crimes recreated through the deliberations of jurors + I think I've seen previews for the Jury and it looks interesting, but the rest really don't sound like they'll interest me much. Andy Richter's show sounds worse than his first one on FOX.
Art Sandusky Posted April 21, 2004 Report Posted April 21, 2004 I can't fuckin' wait for Method and Red. It'll get axed after six or seven episodes, but those'll be the best six or seven episodes ever on TV.
Vern Gagne Posted April 21, 2004 Report Posted April 21, 2004 Casino could have promise North Shore is obviously trying to duplicate the success the OC had last summer.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted April 21, 2004 Report Posted April 21, 2004 The other 4 non reality shows: Man, you shouldn't have to say "non-reality". Casino? Is it just me, or does that sound like a blatant rip-off of Las Vegas?

Is it just me, or does that sound like a blatant rip-off of Las Vegas? I probably should have called them Scripted shows, although most reality shows have scripts too.

Except.......with rappers living with rich white people! We'll make MILLIONS! TV EXEC #2: Didn't we already see this on "Fresh Prince"? TV EXEC: MILLIONS!
starvenger Posted April 21, 2004 Report Posted April 21, 2004 Casino? Is it just me, or does that sound like a blatant rip-off of Las Vegas? It does, but it's a Mark Burnett show, similar to "The Restaurant", so it's a docudrama. At least, I think it is. I can't exactly see the thrill of having a reality game show set in a casino, since you've got a chance (albeit slim) at big bucks EVERYWHERE.
Slayer Posted April 21, 2004 Report Posted April 21, 2004 "Quintuplets" - Andy Richter is the father of 15-year-old quintuplets. I don't foresee that getting old fast... not at all* *(Expected lifespan = 2 episodes)

Yeah - even on regular programs, Neighbours for instance, the fictitious Making Mansions is done with a lot of predetermination. It's no secret.
tommytomlin Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 Well, if it happens on Neighbours, then it's got to be true.
justsoyouknow Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 For Quintuplets to work, we'd have to pretend that Andy Richter has sex. Method and Red should be fucking outstanding, though, the two have this natural comedic talent that I can't put my finger on.

Actually, we'd only have to believe he had sex once, and it's entirely conceivable that he could have gotten some girl really drunk.
Guest Vitamin X Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 How many times will FOX push Andy Richter until they realize he's not over with the regular TV-watching crowd? ........ I hate being a smark.
Guest wrestlingbs Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 Man, I don't know what will be worse, watching Andy Richter's new show or Andy Richter realising that he might have been better off being Conan's sidekick.
