The OAO Mystery Science Theater 3000 Thread

October 28th a 4 disc 20th anniversary set comes out. They haven't announced the discs yet, but some early promotional material listed both Werewolf and Laserblast as being on the set. That'll probably end up being a giant cock tease and we really get 4 shitty ones, but damnit my hopes are up. If those two episodes are indeed in the set (full set info supposed to be released at the San Diego Comic-con) then it'll be like Volume 4 where they could stick a shitter in there like Hamlet and it'd still be a fucking awesome set. Come on Shout! Factory, let your first release be awesome.

Werewolf + Laserblast would be awesome no matter the other two, but those two plus...say Soul Taker and Death Stalker or something like that would be heart attack inducingly awesome. The set is supposed to be loaded with extras as well. You can pre-order it at Amazon for like $49.

LASERBLAST! FAAAAAAAR OUT!

Here's hoping the 20th and 1/2 Anniversary set (or whatever Shout Factory does next) has Master Ninja I and II and The Final Sacrifice. Come on, there's no excuse for not including Final Sacrifice, the rights have to be dirt cheap.

*BUMP*

I just purchased Volume 7 and The Essentials from Borders cause I had a couple of 30% coupons, and that had 2 Hercules movies on it.

But one of the funniest shorts I've seen them do is the "Spring Fever" bit, that was GOLD.

I ordered mine off Amazon.com, they said it shipped Monday so I'm hoping it will be waiting for me at home tonight.

I'd love it if they could get the rights to Master Ninja I & II for the next release.

The History of MST segment is interesting.

Something I laughed about during the Comic-Con interview panel

Kevin tells a story about a person who wrote in, saying they were in a coma and MST brought him out of it. The response?

<Mike>Michael Bay I believe it was.

I'm watching the Comic-con panel right now and it's incredibly awesome. I like how they brought up the child brides movie, that Mike and Kevin talked about in the interview on volume 5.

One thing I would like to see them TRY to do in the next DVD set...

A little "debate" segment thing.

Tom Servo (Weinstein) vs. Tom Servo (Murphy)

and

Crow (Trace) vs. Crow (Bill)

Mine arrived today. I didn't realize how big the tin case is. I watched the first part of the retrospective and Trace doesn't look a damn thing like he did back then.

Well, Joel barely looks like he did either.

For Trace...he looked close to how he looked in the DVD bonus for "The Giant Gila Monster"

Hey, help me out here.

What's this movie they parodied?

Think post-apocalyptic. It's in color. Maybe late 70s. The hero is on a talking motorcycle which gets crushed by something called "Megaweapon," which is a dumptruck with spikes and cannons.

YES.

Fuck. Yes.

I've been searching for that movie title for quite some time, albeit not as a major focus or anything. I don't even care about the MST part of it, I just like the movie.

Ah, Warrior of the Lost World, the 2nd in what I like to call the "Bad Mad Max rip-off Post Apocalypse" trilogy, along with City Limits and Alien from LA

They dumbed down and butchered the editing of the movie. Mike Nelson even rags on it on Mind Over Matters. The lame "Metaluna Mixer" at the end makes me cringe, considering they were actually building up to something.
