The Bashams are great, but they don't get much of a chance to show it because of moveset restrictions.

 

See London v.s. Doug a couple weeks ago on Velocity for a small sampling of what Doug can do. He's pretty good on the microphone too, yet the Bashams never get mic time.

 

I'd advise everyone to pick up one of their matches against Nick Dinsmore and Rob Conway and then tell me how "boring" they are.

Tekno Team 2000 was around for like a month and only had a handful of matches in that time. I don't think they had a signal feud. They've been blown way out of proportion as history goes along for some reason.

 

But anyway, people are confusing 'really sucky' with 'really dull'. People that suck like the Powers of Pain can at least be interesting because they had good presence and stood around menacingly very well. But The Bashams? They don't do anything. They don't even screw up in interesting ways, they just sort of stand around doing their boring thing which has no actual visible appeal. They're the tag team equivelant of WWE Justin Credible with about 15 times the amount of ring time that has not helped them at all. Sad to say, Shaniqua was the only one with any heat at all and shes not around anymore.

Did anyone else notice assblaster complaining about us talking about the same things over and over, and then talking about how the Bashams are bland? Anyway, I have to say that Kronik would have to be the most bland team I can remember. What I saw of their gimmick was basically an APA rip off. You can't get much worse than that

Well, the Bashams aren't the worst tag team I've ever seen or anything. Perhaps it's my peculiar loyalty to local OVW guys, but there are far worse. The previously mentioned X-Pac/Road Dog and Bull/Godfather teams were easily more excruciating.

Sometimes this sort of thing is exaggerated, but OVW does actually let the guys who can bust it out actually BUST IT OUT. I actually saw a really great Al Snow match against Nick Dinsmore on OVW once. I mean since his ECW days what remotely decent match has Al Snow been involved in?

 

From OVW stuff though I'd have to say Danny/Damaja is better than Doug. Hell even Benoit didn't get much out of Doug when he made a guest appearance.

They are hardly setting WWE alight but I think it is unfair to suggest that they are the most boring team ever. I personally found WGTT pretty boring. I've noticed that when I saw them live The Bashams seemed to be more charasmatic than they come across on TV.

I'll agree that Haas and Benjamin as a unit didn't have all of their ability shine, but they were far from boring.

Al was in a number of really good Hardcore matches before the division was overused and exposed.

I don't think so, it'd only be a matter of time before they brought the 24/7 rule back out and we'd be back to the same old tat we had before, where eight different men held the title in one night. Besides, having too many hardcore matches means they lose their mystique. The Orton/Foley brawl, the first real hardcore match we'd seen for a while, would've seemed less intense if we had Tommy Dreamer battling Rob Conway in a hardcore match on Heat. Hardcore should be saved for really intense feuds so they actually mean something.

I agree about the mystique, or lack thereof - but we could have those No Holds Barred matches rarely, and Hardcore matches just involving a steel chair, ring steps, etc.

 

Also, the title doesn't have to change hands so much in one night to keep the division entertaining.
