Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted April 28, 2004 Instead of a yearbook, I had all of my friends sign and draw on the Pontiac Bonneville I was driving at the time.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted April 28, 2004 I didn't get a high school class ring, bu t I'm thinking about getting one when I graduate from college.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2004 Nope and few people from my class actually did. I'm not opposed to accessories like that, but I think it's dumb to throw down a few hundred dollars for something that you'll honestly feel stupid wearing a couple years down the road. I mean, it's just high school. With today's school system, there is no reason you shouldn't be graduating, so to act like it's some huge deal is ridiculous. And I was always a fan of yearbooks. I hated a lot of people in the school, but it's always interesting to look back at them and see how much everyone changed from freshman year to senior year. Plus it's a great tool when needing to identify someone. Coming from a pretty big school, I didn't know everyone (in other classes, anyway), so when someone would talk about somebody that I didn't know, I could always go to the yearbook and place their face, if I hadn't known them by name before. The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 I don't mind yearbooks because I like reading what people say to me. I got a class ring but it was a simple looking one, not some big gaudy piece of crap that I can never wear after high school. Varsity jackets. Ahh. Those are stupid. Why would I advertise my stupid school, and pin my achievements to myself for all to see? If I want you to know about some contest I won, I'll tell you. You don't need to look at the medal on my jacket.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 The most horrible thing about the yearbooks at my highschool(and probably most around the country) is that if you weren't a conformist or part of "the gang" you were most likely only featured on one page which was your potrait. When I was a freshman I participated in some afterschool project for the yearbook called "true colors" which got me in on a good THREE pages.......LOL. Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted April 29, 2004 I'm pretty positive I wasn't even in my senior yearbook. I was the "photo not available" kid a couple years.

You mean to tell me that if you weren't with the "in" crowd, then you weren't featured in multiple pages of your high school yearbook? I'm shocked. Next thing you know you'll tell me that elected student council reps. are selected based on popularity instead of merit...
lomasmoney 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 I never bought a yearbook or a class ring. Shit i was even in like 30 pages of the yearbook, but I had to save money for things more important when I was in high school
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted April 29, 2004 Class Rings = shit. I was dumb enough to buy a yearbook last year, and it's just collecting dust now in my closet under a pile of other crap I don't use. I'm not against people buying them, but $350-$450 for something you'll wear for a few weeks is out of the question in my book...unless I was a rich snob who'll buy anything school would push on students.
