An angle Randy orton could try

I and many have gotten down on poor little Randy Orton who is being rushed to the top very fast by the WWE at large and is busting his ass to deserve the spot.

 

This past Monday night got me thinking after he Spat on Harley Race.

What if Randy starts doing what Shane Douglas did in ECW in 95) and Challenge Legends (Semi retired to retired but not crippled Legends that is) to matches. He put up the IC title against various older or has been wrestlers stuck in Indi's exile.

 

Douglas had various matches with the likes of Tully Blanchard, Marty Jenetty and others in 95. I kinda like the idea of like former names given the chance to shine again and perhaps grab some IC gold (With Orton ultimating winning each match of course) The key was Douglas didn't dominate the matches and in fact made the former Big name wrestlers look damn good in the match.

 

think up some decent names of wrestlers that may have either retired in the past 5 or so years or have dropped off the map for various reasons.........

They tried it with Kid Kash in TNA too, he fought Ricky Morton, Bobby Eaton, Larry Zbyszko, and Terry Taylor. The matches sucked for the most part, but the Morton match was decent I guess.

I'd much rather see the Orton-back-in-OVW-angle(that isn't really an angle)...I don't see how having a garbage match highlighted by landing on some thumbtacks is "paying his dues", nor do I get how unimproving promos and ringwork are signs of "improvement".

The entire concept of "paying your dues" can be distilled to having to go through a shitload of pain for nothing.

 

He did that. He didn't have to take those bumps to still get the match over. But he did.

 

ANd fuck paying dues. Almost no one does it anymore since the territory system is dead. It's just another excuse that was used to hold down guys in WCW and The WWE

And open your blinders. Orton's ring work has progressed, unlike Cena (who I still love, but has fallen into a rut). His pacings gotten better and he's learned how to fill a lot of the holes between big sections of work.

I think they should do an angle where he gets a dry mouth and contemplates retirement because he can't produce enough saliva to spit in peoples faces anymore. In a last-ditch effort, they set up a telethon to help others with this debilitating affliction, where Orton believes if he saves enough people, he might just save himself.

Maybe they could do an evil twin angle with Orton where _his_ evil twin is just a nice guy named Andy. They build up to it, with Randy leaving the room and Andy coming in and talking with Evolution. Flairs reaction to this would be the key seller. Then, when Randy and Andy finally meet, they just say "hi" and Andy somehow mysteriously dies. Orton doesn't really think much of it, but the rest of Evolution is freaked out at the possibility of more Randytwins. Then, in following weeks, we get Dandy, Tandy, Landy, Handy, and of course, Candy & Mandy - the female twins of Randy.

Well time will tell how well the Foley feud got Orton over and I haven't seen the hardcore match yet. But, I thought the feud was shitty. First, why should I care that Orton beats up retired wrestler Foley when HHH has already done it countless times. And Foley was always looking like a dumbass by walking in to traps and, of course, with the way Orton was always beating him at every turn there was no doubt he was winning the feud.

 

And I'm just sick of Foley always talking about how he doesn't like the way the WWE is but, then the minute Vince offers him money or a chance to plug one of his book's Foley is right there doing the shit he says he doesn't like. Like when he first came in to replace Austin. What was the point of that? He added nothing to the product or the storyline and it was just more of the same shit that we had with Austin.

I think that it's time to move away from the legend killer thing, which they started to do the last two weeks.

The Legend Killer gimmick is the most fresh gimmick i've seen in pro wrestling in the past two years. Also, I don't think too many of the "up and commers" could have made it look as good Orton does. However I do agree that you need to mix his programs to not only be legends, but also the fresh competitors like shelton, and edge.

 

Also I gotta give credit, I would say after watching all the OVW alumni "evolve" (no pun intended) this year, I say Orton is the best out of all of them.

 

But if we are talking about giving him another gimmick, here are some that might be good for him...

 

Have him team with Al Snow. He could put one of those green bay hats on, and you can call them head chee....oh, i guess that was done already. Maybe you can harrassed and sacrificed by the undertaker, only to bring back Cowboy Bob and have him align with Mick Foley to help him get his son back, go into a fued with UT, find out the Taker is working for a higher power....and the higher power is.....COWBOY BOB! Yes it was me alllll along!! HAHAHAHA.....
