Bored Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Idiot commish in Oakland. It's the first time he's EVER been to the Coliseum. I can't see the game where I am but I'm hoping there has been at least one "Selig sucks" chant. Is he sitting in the stands or a luxury box?
Guest Anglesault Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Javy had nothing The Yankees have been shut down by Harden. We deserve to lose.

They did say it was his first ever Oakland trip as commish.
Guest Anglesault Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Total non effort from the Yankees tonight. They deserve to lose. All streaks must end, but why can't it end going down fighting? Why must they just all out SUCK?
Guest Anglesault Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 K. Lofton CF 1-2 D. Jeter SS 1-3 A. Rodriguez 3B 0-2 G. Sheffield RF 1-2 J. Posada C 0-2 H. Matsui LF 0-3 B. Williams DH 1-3 T. Clark 1B 1-3 E. Wilson 2B 1-3 DISGUSTING.
Bored Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 I know...how can the A's keep giving up hits to Enrique Wilson? Let's see if a miracle happens and the A's bullpen actually doesn't blow a fourth game to the Yankees.
Guest Anglesault Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 I swear, if Jeter does that "do nothing but stick your ass out" move on an outside pitch one more time..
Bored Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Did Dusty Baker take over as the A's manager? I can't believe Harden is still in there. I know the bullpen has just been hopeless lately but the guy is only 22 and last thing you want to do is overuse him and it's too early in the season to go for broke. Was on a nice roll but just walked two batters with two out in the 8th. Now out of there after 121 pitches.
Guest FrigidSoul Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Its the 9th inning. Time for Oakland to blow the lead and not do me any favors
Jobber of the Week Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Owned. At least Jeter showed his ass off more to end the game. *I* think Anglesault actually deserves his bitching thread back after this game.
NoCalMike Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Wow the A's decided to beat the Yankees. Unbelievable.
Bored Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Wow the A's come back from a four-run defecit (although pretty early), Mark Kotsay provides some offense (3 for 5 with 4 RBI), and the A's bullpen doesn't blow it (MECIR slams the door!?). It's Bizarro World!
Guest Anglesault Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Yankees humiliated themselves, the team and their fans with that "effort" But we have to put this behind us and move on to Seattle.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 I wouldn't say the Yankees humiliated themselves. Rich Harden is one hell of a pitcher.
sfaJack Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Damn. Cubs took the wood to Shawn Estes in the 2nd inning. Hopefully Zambrano can cruise now. 6-0 Cubs after 2.
Bruiser Chong Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Can't help but pity Estes a bit. I want the Cubs to win, obviously, but he just fell apart early in this one and I was hoping that they'd go to the pen early, so I wouldn't have these torn feelings about the Cubs laying the smack down on the Rockies. And good god did Burnitz take a hit on that Patterson double.
Guest FrigidSoul Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Royals locked up Angel Berroa through the 2009 season
Guest Anglesault Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 I wouldn't say the Yankees humiliated themselves. Rich Harden is one hell of a pitcher. When a team is swinging at pitches over their head and two feet off the plate, while watching strikes, I could be pitching. And they've started that "letting pop ups and fouls just drop" SHIT that was so prevalent in the first 20 games again.
Bruiser Chong Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Well, Zambrano goes the distance, only giving up two hits, one of which is erased in the game-ending double play. Awesome performance by Carlos, which bodes well especially for me, since I've got him on my fantasy team. The Cubs looked great today and tacked on 11 runs without the long ball. Granted, Estes' lack of control helped matters greatly, but the Cubs were actually able to take advantage of the chances.
KingPK Posted May 8, 2004 Author Report Posted May 8, 2004 (edited) And KC fully blows a, what, 6-2 lead after a home run from Mark F'n Bellhorn (that's embarassing). And Varitek wins it with a pinch hit double. Edited May 8, 2004 by Kingpk
Rob E Dangerously Posted May 8, 2004 Report Posted May 8, 2004 I'm ready to can Pena. It's obvious that something has to change and Pena sucks at handling pitchers.
Guest FrigidSoul Posted May 8, 2004 Report Posted May 8, 2004 Its not Pena's fault that half of the pitching rotation is facing injuries or is on the shelf from injuries. You can Pena and I guarentee players start demanding to be traded right now. Pena is actually your best chip in keeping Beltran since Beltran loves playing for him.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted May 8, 2004 Report Posted May 8, 2004 When has a player ever chosen a team because of a manager? Beltran will select the best offer, just like any other free agent.
Rob E Dangerously Posted May 8, 2004 Report Posted May 8, 2004 Its not Pena's fault that half of the pitching rotation is facing injuries or is on the shelf from injuries. Excuses, Excuses. The Royals best pitcher is still in AAA anyways. Pena consistantly makes stupid moves with pitching changes. You can Pena and I guarentee players start demanding to be traded right now. Pena is actually your best chip in keeping Beltran since Beltran loves playing for him. Beltran should be traded by July too. We should get something for him now since the team is out of contention. As for players demanding to be traded, yeah, so? Just because the team likes the guy doesn't mean anything. Have you heard about their Spring "training"? Pena, the motivator, has failed to get Juan Gonzalez to RUN FOR THE FUCKING BALL. I swear, it was a tie game, Ramirez on first, ball hit to Gonzalez, and HE FUCKING JOGGED TOWARDS THE BALL.
KingPK Posted May 8, 2004 Author Report Posted May 8, 2004 Yeah, if you allow MANNY RAMIREZ (a man who would, if he could, rather drive a golf cart around the basepaths than run) to score from first, there's a bit of a problem there. The way he thrust his arms in the air like he just won the Boston Marathon as he crossed the plate (standing up, even though he was inches from being out, which would have PISSED people right off) was kind of funny, though.
Guest FrigidSoul Posted May 8, 2004 Report Posted May 8, 2004 When has a player ever chosen a team because of a manager? Beltran will select the best offer, just like any other free agent. Give me a couple days to think it over and I guarentee you I'll come up with a player.
