SNL Review- featuring a report of my trip to SNL

Recommended Posts

SNL Review- Lindsay Lohan/Usher

My report of my trip to SNL is after my review.

Sports Report-

Leafs- After those two games in Toronto it sucked seeing them just play like garbage like they did on Sunday. Hopefully they can take advantage of Esche's injury and home ice and bounce back and win.

Nets- Seeing them destroy the Knicks brought a big smile to my face. The Pistons will be their toughest Eastern Conference opponent in quite a while and I hope they can rise to the task.

Braves-They haven't gotten off to a great start but it’s very early and they're keeping pace with the Fish. I was really impressed that they swept Florida but other then that it's been either take 2/3 or lose 2/3.

Mailbag!!!!!!-

Katherine Roberston writes-

You like Seth Meyers. You rock.

Thank you Katherine. Seth Meyers does kick ass and I'm glad you're a fan of someone so funny.

Kelsey Jackson writes-

hey, I just started writting reviews and I'm a big fan of yours. i agree with you on alot of things like your opinions about rachel dratch and maya rudolph(how the hell was she even considered for one of EWs 25 funniest people in america?) i also agree with you that norm mcdonald was the best weekend update anchor in snl history. i have 2 questions for you. 1.) Do you have a favorite SNL host? and 2.) what do you think about Mad Tv? well thats all for me.

It's Macdonald not Mcdonald but I'm glad you agree. I think that EW list was full of crap. Maya? KELLY RIPA? And their reasons for leaving Jerry Seinfeld and Tina off were weak.

To answer your question-

1) Kevin Spacey. He hosted my favourite episode ever so he wins.

2) I don’t watch MadTV so I don’t really have an opinion on it. What I have seen I did not like.

Wanna be in the mailbag????? Email me at [email protected]

I wrote the review in the order I saw the skits in dress.

Cold Opening

Cast- Will Forte, Darrell Hammond

Thoughts- Well it took only two years but I'm glad SNL has FINALLY found a suitable replacement for Will Ferrell's Bush. I'm also very happy that we won't have to deal with Parnell's or Darrell's pathetic impressions of the President ever again. This means for the next 4 years we either get Seth's awesome Kerry impression or we get Forte's funny Bush impression. Fine by me. I thought the writing was pretty weak in this one which is a shame since both impressions are really well done and it could've been so much better. I'm not really going to complain about that since I'm really happy for Will Forte and I'm glad SNL finally made the right choice regarding Bush. ***

Monologue

Cast- Lindsay Lohan, Rachel Dratch, Amy Poehler, Chris Parnell, Maya Rudolph

Thoughts- This monologue pretty much spoke to me as I do intently follow the Lindsay Lohan-Hilary Duff feud. For the record I support Hilary Duff. I mean come on: She's better looking and the Lizzie McGuire movie was better then Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. Even though I loved Mean Girls and didn’t think Cheaper by the Dozen was all that great. I feel bad for Hilary since well she's incredibly hot and Rachel Dratch…isn't. This isn't as big an injustice as Maya playing Kristin Davis but it just still bothered me. But then we got AMY'S AVRIL which is always awesome and hilarious and makes me love her so much. I actually like Maya's Whitney Houston and Chris Parnell was fun as a creepy pervert. And he's right- Lindsay does turn 18 in 63 days. I'd hit it. ***1/2

Tattoo Remover

Cast- Parnell, Poehler

Thoughts- It was nice seeing a commercial parody that didn’t involve Huggies, Thongs or any combination of the two. This was pretty funny and it's one of those products that I think should actually be on the market. One of the better commercial parodies I've seen. ***

Jarrett's Room

Cast- Lohan, Jimmy Fallon, Horatio Sanz, Seth Meyers

Thoughts- In dress the skit was pretty different. Jarrett and Gobe had graduated from Hampshire College and were moving out and then at the end they did an epilogue updating us on all the characters. The whole skit got about 2 laughs.

So instead of cutting it and putting in Spyglass they rewrite it and it's still not funny. Jarrett and Gobe are funny on occasion but the majority of the Jarrett's Rooms just don’t work. Seth is always awesome as DJ Jonathan Feinstein but he's on screen for 2 seconds. And Lindsay Lohan was not good as a stoned out chick. And the stoned robot was like watching a live execution on the air. I hope this means the end of Jarrett's Room but if it is I will be remise that Jeff Jarrett never came out and El Kabonged Jimmy. 3/4*

Club Traxx

Cast- Lohan, Dratch, Poehler, Rudolph, Forte, Fred Armisen

Thoughts- Message to SNL: That whole TATU phenomenon happened sometime more then a year ago. Now no one really cares about them so spoofing them now does nothing except make me angry that SNL again teases HLA and again doesn’t deliver. Enough already! Fred was really funny as Leonard and I loved Will Forte's video. The makeout song was cute and it was made even funny by seeing Jeff Richmond sing along it in dress rehearsal. And I always mark out for random bunny cameos. All this cannot change the fact that it was Club Traxx so it didn’t have a fighting chance to begin with. **

Billy Joel

Cast- Lohan, Tina Fey, Sanz, Poehler, Rudolph

Thoughts- I don’t really follow him that much but has Billy Joel gained that much weight that Horatio Sanz has to play him? This was really bad as it was a one joke skit and the one joke was not very funny. I mean wow Billy Joel can't drive- sides aren't really splitting. I was waiting for something to happen and nothing did. They also wasted Tina in a skit- don’t get my hopes up like that. This was terrible and should've been cut. 1/2*

Harry Potter

Cast- Lohan, Dratch, Seth Meyers, Parnell, Sanz

Thoughts- Ohhhhhhhhhhh yea. Damn. Those three words easily describe this one.

Tina: So does anyone have any ideas for this weekend?

Writer: Well uhhhhh you know how Lindsay you uhhhhh ummmmm are uhhh very well umm you know well developed and ummmmmm I was thinking ummm uhhhhh we could ummmmm do a uhhhhhhh skit about ummmmm your uhhhh well developedness.

Lindsay's best features are her luscious boobs and I was very happy that SNL decided to do a skit based on around them. Let's be honest here- if Dog Show was playing in the background I would still love this skit because I'm a pervert who likes Lindsay Lohan cleavage. The magnifying glass? Awesome! When I wasn't being a pedophile I did happen to notice a lot of funny lines and good double entendres. I'm glad SNL got the most out of their female host this week. And once again: Damn. ****1/4

Usher

Thoughts- I didn’t really know much about Usher beforehand but damn that boy can dance. I also loved the fact that everyone in Usher's band was wearing a Braves hat- including Usher. So he gets a bump in star ratings there. The song was decent, I enjoyed Ludacris' cameo (Bill O'Reilly must've been pissed) and they wore Braves hats. Good enough for me. **1/2

Weekend Update

Cast- Fey, Fallon, Sanz

Thoughts- For those wondering the heckler was one of my fellow standbys and he was escorted out and is banned for life. Sucks to be him. This was a pretty weak Weekend Update with nothing standing out. The jokes were pretty good but nothing you'd remember the next day. (I had a lot of trouble remembering the cut jokes- even though I wrote them down) And Tina's 'Yea I hate Bush' jokes are getting kind of old. I thought Jimmy handled the heckling very well and I applaud him for his professionalism. Horatio was ok as the GED guy. He didn’t make me want to take a baseball bat to his forehead which is an improvement compared to his previous times at the Update desk. There's not much to complain about Weekend Update- it just was not very funny. None of the cut jokes were that great either so I'm not too sad. ***1/4

Sleepover

Cast- Lohan, Poehler, Sanz

Thoughts- When I saw this skit in dress my reaction was: Yea- this is so cut.

But they actually kept it on the air! I don’t get how Amy can molest and harass Horatio for a whole skit and he smiles and Jimmy winks at Horatio and we get Gary's Fish Tanks all over again. Amy was really funny here and I'm glad they gave her a skit to showcase her ability to be really annoying and funny. I didn’t get how Lindsay's character went from hating Amy to liking her in the end. I just loved how the skit moved so fast and everyone was keeping up. Amy earns many gold stars for this one. I wouldn’t mind seeing them try this character again since Amy is just awesome at it. ***1/2

Debbie Downer

Cast- Lohan, Dratch, Fallon, Sanz, Poehler, Armisen

Thoughts- Okay here we go….

Cracking up is something I hate. Part of the fun for me of SNL is watching these people do these tremendously funny skits and not acknowledge it all. I think laughing on the air cheapens the skit. It's also very unprofessional. I mean these people are on a live TV show with a job that many people would kill to do. So I feel that it's a slap in the face to the fans of the show. Sitting there and laughing at yourself is not funny. It's lame and shows lack of self esteem. It also wastes good airtime.

I loved Debbie Downer.

The premise and execution of the skit were funny to begin with. And then the giggles started. Here's why I'm not writing a 100 page rant on why Rachel Dratch should die:

1) The irony:

Here you have Rachel Dratch playing a character named Debbie Downer yet she can't keep a straight face and it looks like she's about to piss herself laughing the whole time. Just watching her attempting to fire off those lines in that voice while just fighting a losing battle was so much fun to watch. Notice how Jimmy and Horatio just laugh and you just sit there and nothing happens? This was different.

I loved how the live part ends with Rachel struggling to control herself and they cut to a pretape of Debbie Downer in full Debbie Downer form. Gold.

Rachel about to cry but still having time to make the face: Awesome.

2) They got Fred

Granted- while Fred didn’t die laughing like the others- he broke character for a second and was on the verge of laughing. This is a guy who sat there expressionless during Gary's Fish Tanks and waited patiently for Horatio and Jimmy to finish. It's like when Phil Hartman cracked up as Frankenstein. When you can finally get the one guy to crack- you know you did well.

3) Lindsay Lohan: I love thee

Okay- going into this show I didn’t like Lindsay Lohan at all. I thought her attractiveness was overrated (Freckles!), her voice was grating and she starred in Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen.

Because of this skit I am now a fan of Lindsay Lohan. (The fact that in the cut Spyglass she said 'Cheeriatzi' in a British accent also helps)

Again- I don’t like cracking up but I'll say this:

Lindsay Lohan attempting to control herself, standing up, yelling at Rachel and then just losing it four seconds later is probably the funniest thing I've seen on SNL this year. I just couldn’t stop laughing when I saw that and I keep visualising it in my head and it's just so funny.

I just watched it again and yea- Lindsay MAKES this skit from 'Yawn' to 'Classic.' The camera zooming in on Rachel the minute she loses it was also a site to behold.

Was Debbie Downer great? Yes. Do I want them to do this again next week or even next season? No. It was just one of those things where it all came together perfectly. They shouldn’t even do Debbie Downer again. Just let the moment stand. ****

Usher

Thoughts- In dress he wore the Braves hat. In the live show he didn’t. To quote Jerry Seinfeld: What's the deal with that? I also had to put up with people going: BURN IT USHER! BURN IT! Since he cheated on Chili- shouldn’t she be burning his stuff? It makes sense. I must give kudos to Usher for checking out Lindsay's chest in the goodnights. You made us all proud. *1/2

Adult Film Awards

Cast- Sanz

Thoughts- I pretty much let my inner Beavis and Butthead out for this one as you guessed it: I laughed at every dick/penis pun they did. And they mocked poor Jimmy Kimmel. The skit was only like 10 seconds long so I cant really give it that high of a rating but it was cute, they mocked people I like seeing be mocked and they said the word dick a lot. **3/4

The Bottom Line- Avg. skit was **.5 making this just barely a thumbs up show. There were some terrible crap at the beginning but Lindsay Lohan's breasts and Lindsay Lohan's inability to stay in character really did save the show. The rest of the show was **-***- nothing really to write home or complain about. I thought the show was smartly cut. They kept in skits I thought were getting snipped and everything that was really funny or got a great reaction was left in. It wasn't a great show but I liked it and it got people talking. I can't wait for next week's: It should be amazing.

SNL Trip Report-

When we last left me at Saturday Night Live, I showed porn to kids, got threatened by a midget and met Robin Williams.

I arrived at the standby line at 10:30 pm. Now I know what you're thinking:

Don't you usually get to the line at 10:30 AM even though you know 50 people get in so essentially you end up wasting 20 hrs of your life?

Yes.

I had things to do on Friday and went to see Mean Girls which explained my late arrival.

As I was walking to the line I passed Darrell Hammond and we exchanged pleasantries. I really want to complement him on Scary Movie 3. But what do you say?

You were AWESOME as a pedophile in that movie. Great stuff man.

I got to 49th st and saw Rachel Dratch. So far so good. I went outside and noticed the line was long and there were lots of people in front of me. Not gonna spin ya- lots of expletives. I went and put my stuff down and then went back inside. I was talking to some friends and noticed this red haired girl talking to these two guys. It then hit me: HOLY CRAP- THAT'S LINDSAY LOHAN.

(Okay- I didn't get excited or anything. It was more like: Oh- Lindsay Lohan)

I told Lindsay how much I loved Mean Girls and she said: Good- you should see it again.

Lindsay was very nice- she signed and took photos for everyone. I had heard rumours that Lindsay wasn't nice at all and I'm glad that wasn't true. She's a good egg.

Len Berman came down and told me that the Leafs had won which officially made this night awesome.

Jimmy came down later and said he didn't know whether he was leaving and probably would decide during the summer. Jimmy was his usual beyond nice self and was relieved to find out I wasn't dead. I also saw Christopher from the Sopranos but I didnt know his name so I said:

I liked you as Christopher from the Sopranos.

Even though I knew it was a longshot- I decided to join three other guys for what used to be a Friday night tradition for me....the long wait for Tina. I told these guys that Tina usually doesn't come out till 4 am and sometimes you don't see her at all. These guys were undettered and I admired their perserverance and their willingness to keep hope alive. (tm me). They reminded me of a young me.

But miracles of miracles- Tina and Lorne came down at the same time at only 2 am. Tina coming down at 2 am? What is this world coming to?

Tina was very very nice and we had an awesome encounter. She was happy that I saw Mean Girls and even thanked me for seeing it on the first day. We also discussed the awesomeness of Tim Meadows in the movie. Lorne was in a rush and wasn't very nice but I was pleased by just having a great Tina encounter.

After Tina had come out I pretty much decided to call it a night. Even though I wasn't very tired the last few hours were as usual hard to get through but I had a good time hanging out with the fellow standbys. The NBC page came out exactly at 7 am. That's dedication to your craft.

I got #24 for dress which worried me. I'd never had a number that low for standby and thought my streak of getting into 10 out of my last 11 shows was over.

That Saturday afternoon I went back to NBC to see the people I missed. Darrell Hammond shook my hand as he went in and Jimmy waved. I saw Tina again and again we conversed about Mean Girls. I got a handshake from Will Forte and was a dick to Seth about the Bruins losing. (Sorry Seth!) Amy came in but was listening to a walkman so I didn't want to bother her. I saw Lindsay Lohan again and she signed and took photos for everyone again.

I went back to see if I got in and found out I had been upgraded to #15 for dress. Yay. I was still nervous about getting into the show just because I always am. But I soon found out that once again-

I WAS IN!!!!

Now what you've all been waiting for....

WHAT GOT CUT!!!!!!!

JB Smoove did the warmup and was not very funny. I miss Dean.

They showed the Mom Jeans commercial.

Cheerleaders

Cast- Lohan, Dratch, Poehler, Parnell, Rudolph, Sanz, Thompson, Mitchell

Thoughts- Cheerleaders throw Amy in the air...and she doesn't come down. This causes problems. Horatio played an astrophysicist. Kenan was a minister givng a eulogy for Amy's character. Amy was hung by wires for much of this skit. This skit had a lot of funny lines but the crowd was DEAD for this so it came off as flat. **1/2

Fun in the tub

Cast- Lohan, Rudolph, Forte, Parnell, Armisen

Thoughts- While taking a bath Maya introduces Lindsay to her new stepfather named Dadrick played by Will Forte (also in the tub). We soon meet Will's brother Mahsister (Chris Parnell- also in the tub) and somehow Fred Armisen was in the bathtub as well. Lots of playing on words here but I could tell it was getting cut. ***

Adventures of Harold

Thoughts- A film by T. Sean Shannon about a bald kid. Did nothing for me. DUD

Spyglass

Cast- Lohan, Poehler, Meyers, Sanz

Thoughts- The usual from the Spyglass crew. Lindsay played a teenage reporter (I would fuck her if she said nothing but the word 'Cheeriatzi' with a British accent for the rest of her life) and Horatio was a British Gene Shalit. ***1/4

Limeade, Risk and feuding siblings

Cast- Lohan, Parnell, Sanz, Armisen, Poehler

Thoughts- Lindsay got into an argument with her brother (Parnell) and his loser friends. Amy as their mom tried to mediate. Somehow this turned into a plug for Limeade. 1/4*

Even though I didn't think the show was that great (It still is a thumbs up because it was smartly cut) I still had a great time doing standby.

Be here next week as I attempt to see a dream lineup- Snoop Dogg/Avril Lavigne.

I like Lindsay better than Hillary. And about that Debbie Downer skit, I agree, it was unprofessional, but I guess it's kinda like a big ol' spot fest to me. Once in awhile, I like watching a live blooper reel.

This was the first SNL I've watched in a very long time, obviously because I was watching for Lindsay. Gooooooood GOD! Man, she's loads better looking than Hilary though. I wish I would have taped it just for the Potter skit. ;) (Debbie Downer, I liked too becasue everyone was out of character, but I doubt it would hold up on repeat viewing.)

Weekend Update seemed very short, or was that just me?

Also, um, GO FLYERS!

You're right and the way they handled it was great. I just can't stop thinking of the camera zooming right in on Rachel when she loses it.

chaosrage linked to Potter in the jailbait thread.

I'm biased towards my girl Hilary but after my Lindsay Lohan filled weekend- I've become quite the fan.

I think it was a normal length WU- didnt notice.

And he's right- Lindsay does turn 18 in 63 days. I'd hit it.

Great, now I have flashbacks of Keith saying he'd do the same to Potatoface on 24. <shudders>

This was a pretty weak Weekend Update with nothing standing out. The jokes were pretty good but nothing you'd remember the next day.

There was one GREAT joke in WU - the Jayson Williams joke. The veiled reference to OJ was priceless.

Usher. That stare. Priceless.

As for the Lohan or Duff debate, I'm not partial to blondes, so I'd take Lohan. In 63 days, of course (which should just about cover the amount of time I'd need to explain this to my fiancee). Duff does have a nice ass, though. Personally, I think that it's one of those feuds that should be settled by a best of 3 bikini oil wrestling match. But that's just me.

That got the loudest response in dress and I loved it. Sad thing is- Tina was right.

Usher. That stare. Priceless.

I missed it since I was on the phone during the goodnites but that's awesome. Apparently Usher is a major perv. Maybe he wrote Harry Potter.

Well Lindsay is legal in the state of NY. I like blondes and don't like freckles so I like Hilary. But Lindsay looks really mature while Hilary screams jailbait. I like that Hilary is full figured- she's not a stick figure.

A Best of 3 bikini oil match is a great idea. Bisch should've announced that for RAW as well.

Cold Opening

Cast- Will Forte, Darrell Hammond

-I'm also liking Forte's Bush. And while Seth's Kerry is good...it's just not funny. Decient start. **1/2

Monologue

Cast- Lindsay Lohan, Rachel Dratch, Amy Poehler, Chris Parnell, Maya Rudolph

-Avril is not a hunched over monkey! Durring these bits I'm just waiting for dung to be thrown. Wasn't feeling the bit. *

Tattoo Remover

Cast- Parnell, Poehler

-ehh, good idea for a skit, it needed to be said. Didn't really get me on laughs though. **

Jarrett's Room

Cast- Lohan, Jimmy Fallon, Horatio Sanz, Seth Meyers

-BLEH! These skits are always bullocks. The whole pot humor stopped bing any kind of funny a long time ago with this. Everyone was just bad. Lohan's bit just seemed pointless, even more than the robot...wait for it...

...

DUD!

Club Traxx

Cast- Lohan, Dratch, Poehler, Rudolph, Forte, Fred Armisen

-No, don't bring it back! While I understand that Fred is playing that charcter well, it's just not funny. No laughs for me. DUD!

Billy Joel

Cast- Lohan, Tina Fey, Sanz, Poehler, Rudolph

-For some reason I was expecting this to be a "Merv The Perv" bit before Joel poped in...which would have been better. Good for a laugh, but too much of the same joke over and over again. *

Harry Potter

Cast- Lohan, Dratch, Seth Meyers, Parnell, Sanz

-Not a funny bit once you do the main joke and go with it...but somehow I was able to forgive them. And I've always liked Dratch as Potter. 1/2* for the bit. ***1/2 for the money shot. Making this a **** bit.

Weekend Update

Cast- Fey, Fallon, Sanz

-Bad for WU, nothing stood out. Although a bad Update is still usually better than the best of the show. And Sanz wasn't funny. **1/2

Sleepover

Cast- Lohan, Poehler, Sanz

-Lohan's character added nothing really, but I guess she was needed. Amy was annoyingly funny in this one. "Hey Rick! Hey Rick!" actually made me laugh. ***

Debbie Downer

Cast- Lohan, Dratch, Fallon, Sanz, Poehler, Armisen

-I'm usually very against laughing out of charcter durring bits. But this would have been unwatchable otherwise. I laughed every time they'd do a close up with Dratch trying her damndest not to laugh her ass off...and the music is what sets her off every time I think. I really don't know where I stand on this. I wouldn't like to see this again. Cause if it went off as planned it wouldn't have been any good...and if the laughing happens again it won't be near as funny. ***1/2

Adult Flim Awards

Cast- Sanz

-Couple of the names made me laugh, but after a while I was just waiting for it to end. Decient enough bit, but not long enough to be anything special. **

Seth has got the voice down pat though. You gotta respect that.

Avril in her interviews is though. Watch her: She never sits up straight and is always leaning over looking like a jackass.

Some people hated this skit which doesnt surprise me since either Amy's incredibly annoying to you- or she makes you laugh. Them doing the variety show out of nowhere was awesome.

Debbie Downer

Cast- Lohan, Dratch, Fallon, Sanz, Poehler, Armisen

17 is legal in every state except for like 5 or 6.

There was a Heckler In The Crowd during Update? How long did this go on and what kind of stuff was he saying? (Missed W.U. Portion of The Show this week.)

I can't stress how much I've hated this season. Not only was their a severe overflow of Sanz and Fallon combined with a major underflow of Forte and to a lesser extent Armisen, plus Richards leaving right when he was becoming one of my top 3 favorite cast members, but they've had unquestionably the worst hosts ever.

Jack Black - Awesome start, my favorite current actor and a awesome show.

Justin Timberlake - What the hell. I liked the Kermit sketch, the Bee Gees, and of course the Gary Busey Direct TV ad, but Timberlake shouldn't have even been hosting. He performed 3 songs, thus canceling out the 3 great sketches.

Halle Berry - No problem with this choice, I mean she won an Oscar, plus it could have been Britney.

Kelly Ripa - Some good moments, but honestly, I'd rather see Regis, or Gelman for that matter host.

Andy Roddick - I'm sorry, I remember expecting shit, but I also remember really liking this one. Looking back at the sketch list though, I don't think I would again, so another sports figure hosting for no reason. I cant wait til David Beckham hosts next year. I think I'd literally jump off my roof if LeBron James hosts.

Alec Baldwin - Another HR for the Baldman

Al Sharpton - McCain and Gore were diamonds in the rough for political hosts, Sharpton wasn't even a serious candidate and he brought Brian Fellows with him. Greaaaatttt. Another waste of a show.

Elijah Wood - Nothing bad to say, at least he can act.

Jennifer Aniston - Not a great show, but the writers' fault, not Jen's or the casts.

Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachy - Great, can't wait til Ozzy or Anna Nicole Smith hosts. The dumb Jessica bit was annoying before SNL had her do it in every sketch.

Megan Mullaly, Drew Barrymore, Christina Aguilara - 3 shows I missed, so no comment, although its been said Aguilara did OK, I'll believe it when I see it.

Colin Firth - Loved this show, Firth doing the bad accent in the Civil War movie, Calhoun on trial, Benny Hill as Jesus, good stuff.

Affleck - Missed it

Donald Trump - Played himself in every sketch but one, need I say more.

Janet Jackson - Watched first 2 sketches, couldnt stomach anymore.

Lohan - I missed Forte as Bush, but everything else I caught. Loved the Billy Joel, even if just for the can getting stuck on the car and Sanz having to use the beer bottle, and Debbie Downer was great. Lohans hot and only like 5 months younger than me so score.

Snoop Dogg - Why the fuck is he hosting, not watching it.

Olsen Twins - Personalities, look like monkeys, not watching it.

I sincerely hope Fallon, Sanz, Hammond, and Rudolph leave for next year, and that Michaels forgets about ratings for the moment and tries to get some true comedic talent.

Plus - Bob, did you see the Entertainment Weekly's top 25 people in America. Maya Rudolph made the list somehow. Then, when they did a followup listing the 10 people who recieved the most write in replies, Tina Fey made it and was excused for not making the top 25, because Maya took the SNL spot. WTF? Then this week, they go ahead and write a whole article on Fey, thank god.

Here's the problem - you're expecting Entertainment Weekly to be consistent...

17 is legal in every state except for like 5 or 6.

In some states it's 16 right? When are you going to California to sweep Lindsay off her feet chaos? I think she's single- and she lives with Raven Symone.

Next week the Olsen Twins host?

Next week is Snoop Dogg. The Olsen Twins host the finale. They're giving up their prom to host.

There was a Heckler In The Crowd during Update? How long did this go on and what kind of stuff was he saying? (Missed W.U. Portion of The Show this week.)

Jimmy did a joke on Trump and then someone yelled something out. It startled Jimmy and he turned to the guy and then riffed on it for a few seconds. The guy in the standby line had said he wanted to make a name for himself. Well there ya go.

Here's the problem - you're expecting Entertainment Weekly to be consistent...

EW said Jerry didn't make the list cause he never works. Jerry Seinfeld tours all over the country! And he's funnier then Kelly Ripa.

With Jeff gone- Will and Seth are starting to get airtime. Plus after he left the show went on a major roll so I think it's good he got axed. But you're right that Jimmy and Horatio did ruin the month of November.

Justin Timberlake - What the hell. I liked the Kermit sketch, the Bee Gees, and of course the Gary Busey Direct TV ad, but Timberlake shouldn't have even been hosting. He performed 3 songs, thus canceling out the 3 great sketches.

Justin was AWESOME. The guy was a great host, had lots of energy and you could tell he was having the time of his life- and he was hilarious too. His three songs were all good.

Halle Berry - No problem with this choice, I mean she won an Oscar, plus it could have been Britney.

Halle Berry is terrible. She's wooden, has no charisma and has never done anything funny in her life. I knew this would suck.

Kelly Ripa - Some good moments, but honestly, I'd rather see Regis, or Gelman for that matter host.

I love Kelly Ripa but Regis would've been amazing.

If you're going to get an athelete...WHY GET A TENNIS PLAYER????? God that show was so bad. Skits like the Governess which had no chance of ever amusing me justp issed me off so much. I HATED this show.

Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachy - Great, can't wait til Ozzy or Anna Nicole Smith hosts. The dumb Jessica bit was annoying before SNL had her do it in every sketch.

They were fun hosts and the writers played to their strengths.

Megan Mullaly, Drew Barrymore, Christina Aguilara - 3 shows I missed, so no comment, although its been said Aguilara did OK, I'll believe it when I see it.

You missed two reallly good shows. Christina was great.

Janet Jackson - Watched first 2 sketches, couldnt stomach anymore
.

You missed Cork Soakers and the Easter song!

Snoop Dogg - Why the fuck is he hosting, not watching it.

Snoop is awesome. He's like Christopher Walken in that anything he does is funny. His stint on Jimmy Kimmel made people think Jimmy Kimmel...was good.

I sincerely hope Fallon, Sanz, Hammond, and Rudolph leave for next year, and that Michaels forgets about ratings for the moment and tries to get some true comedic talent.

Jimmy's contract is up and he says he doesn't know. I'd love to see what happened with WU if he left.

That list was bullshit

Snoop's got potential to be more than just a comedic actor. He did a pretty decent job in a serious role in Playmakers...

Good show. Harry Potter, Update, Sleepover, and Debbie Downer were all good. I liked the tatoo comercial as well.

Is the entire season really gonna go by without John Goodman showing up.

Plus Avril is the mg!!! I can't wait for this show

I wonder if they'll have Amy do her impression of her in the opening like they did with Rachel when Calista Flockhart hosted

Damn!, I forgot about the easter song. Now, those songs are the only reason I can stand Sanz and Fallon. Good tune, and its always good. Yeah, I do wish I had seen Simon with them too.

Still, I love Christopher Walken. I HATE Snoop Dogg. If he's hosting for Soul Plane, then that makes it even worse.

Eh- screw him. Ever since he showed up like 10 times that one season I've never got excited about seeing him. While with Baldwin you're guaranteed a good episode, a Goodman episode is hit and miss.

I post this review at saturday-night-live.com and the Voy SNL forum.

That'd be great. They could have Amy do the music a la when Ricky Martin sang.

Still, I love Christopher Walken. I HATE Snoop Dogg. If he's hosting for Soul Plane, then that makes it even worse.

Hmmmmm- Is that what he's plugging? I love how Soul Plane has all these black guys....and somehow Tom Arnold wandered onto the set.

I think we're in for a fun show on Saturday.
