Tawren Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 I enjoyed the segment. I didn't mark the fuck out during it, but it had its moments. I think a smart angle WWE could do would be Conway absolutely killing Dinsmore next week. Dinsmore wants a rematch, but Regal doesn't want to get in trouble from Bischoff so refuses a rematch. La Res. keeps mocking Dinsmore week after week, so Regal finally steps in and tries to fight but gets killed like Dinsmore did. Dinsmore then saves the day and kicks the shit out of La Res. and then we get Dinsmore/Conway in an actual match.
Jobber of the Week Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 It was funny, yes, but it's still a living bundle of stereotypes about the disabled by people who have little to no experience about them. While I found the segment enjoyable, it didn't do anything to change my position that they never should have done this character in the first place.
Guest Nanks Posted May 5, 2004 Report Posted May 5, 2004 Two scenarios I could see happening: 1) Eugene, whilst being good in the ring and inflicting damage on opponents doesn't understand the "pinning" concept. I could see them doing this next week so Eugene really takes it to Conway but doesn't realise that he has to pin him while he's down so Conway is able to get back up and La Res double team him for the win. This would lead into... 2) Regal seeing that Eugene can seriously wrestle, but will never go anywhere on his own so starts tagging with him because he thinks he can get the tag belts with him.
MillenniumMan831 Posted May 5, 2004 Report Posted May 5, 2004 I think Eugene will put up a valiant effort but Conway's experience/cheating will get him a cheap win and leave Eugene in a puddle of tears. Regal will console him. Eugene will get a match will Grenier on Heat, same thing will happen. Finally, at Bad Blood, Eugene/Regal will topple La Resistance.
Youth N Asia Posted May 5, 2004 Report Posted May 5, 2004 Eugene should just throw on a nasty submission and just not know that he's suppose to let go of the hold, ends up injuring the man. Then you could get Eugene hospital visets to Conway...great comedy insues.
Jobber of the Week Posted May 5, 2004 Report Posted May 5, 2004 2) Regal seeing that Eugene can seriously wrestle, but will never go anywhere on his own so starts tagging with him because he thinks he can get the tag belts with him. This idea (Regal using Eugene as a cheap way to acquire personal gain) is actually kind of brilliant, and fits in with that "Regal is a conniving bastard" bit they were firing off in those form letters to people complaining about the character.
